Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl – Gameplay Walkthrough Part 1 – Sinnoh Region Intro!

In addition to compatibility with each other, Diamond and Pearloffer compatibility with the third generation Pokémon games, Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire, Emerald, FireRed and LeafGreen, Pokémon Ranger, and Pokémon Battle Revolution. After earning the National Pokédex in Diamond and Pearl, the player can “Migrate” Pokémon from the Game Boy Advance games to Diamond and Pearl by inserting a Game Boy Advance cartridge into the Game Boy Advance cartridge slot of the Nintendo DS while Diamond or Pearl is in the DS slot. After six Pokémon are uploaded from the cartridge, they are sent to the Pal Park, an area where the player can capture the transferred Pokémon. Pokémon uploads are restricted to six every twenty-four hours per Game Boy Advance cartridge, and the player must capture the uploaded Pokémon before performing another transfer. Pokémon transferred to Diamond and Pearl this way cannot be sent back to a Game Boy Advance cartridge. After completing a special mission in Pokémon Ranger, the player will be able to send a Manaphy egg or Riolu from Ranger to Diamond or Pearl. Finally, players can wirelessly upload Pokémon from Diamond and Pearl to the Wii games Pokémon Battle Revolution and My Pokémon Ranch.

More Pokmon Are Added To The Sinnoh Dex In Platinum

While the Sinnoh Pokédex in Diamond & Pearl only has 151 Pokémon, in Platinum, it has 59 additional entries, totalling up to 210 in the Sinnoh Pokédex alone, even before the National Dex.

Every new Gen IV Pokémon that is a non-legendary is included in Platinum, with no version-exclusive encounters like with Diamond & Pearl. Pokémon such as Rotom and Giratina are not only made available in Platinum, but they can also be obtained before taking on the Elite Four.

Grind In The Grand Underground

At some point during your adventure, chances are you’ll need to buff your Pokemon. You could roam around the tall grass for a while but after a few minutes you’ll probably have caught just about everything you can from there. Instead, consider visiting the Grand Underground. It opens up once you’ve reached Eterna City and spoken to the Underground Man in the house next to the Pokemon Center, and after that point you can drop down anytime by using the Explorer Kit. The Pokemon in the Grand Underground will consistently keep approximate pace with your level, making them appropriate for grinding. Better yet, the Grand Underground is chock full of Pokemon you can’t find anywhere else, so it’s super helpful if you’re looking for a rare find or just want to catch ’em all.

Pokmon Brilliant Diamond And Shining Pearl: Legendary Exclusives

The most in-your-face difference between Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl is in the legendary pokémon that underpins the story. These pokémon star on the cover of their respective versions and are eventually catchable.

For Pokémon Brilliant Diamond, the cover-starring legendary is Dialga, a Steel/Dragon-type with the power to control time. For Pokémon Shining Pearl its Palkia, a Water/Dragon-type with the ability to distort space.

If, down the line, you want to get Palkia into your Brilliant Diamond team or Dialga into your Shining Pearl team, youll have to trade them.

Exclusive Pokemon In Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl Explained

Although every generation has always featured version exclusives, Diamond & Pearl has perhaps the most drastic differences between each title. From Tyranitar to Salamence, players will need to choose wisely to get the Pokemon they want the most in their game.

For many, the choice may even come down simply to which Legendary you prefer: Palkia or Dialga. However, there are other monsters to consider such as Cranidos and Rampardos vs Shieldon and Bastiodon.

Here are the version exclusives for Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl.

Platinum Has A Different Order To Its Gym Battles

While both the Diamond & Pearl games and anime have Hearthome City’s Gym Battle with Fantina as the fifth Sinnoh Gym Battle, Platinum shuffles the order around so that when the player arrives at Hearthome the first time, they can battle Fantina, moving the Ghost-type dream up to third in the overall order.

Although this also shuffles levels around, this does not necessarily mean that her Gym Challenge is any easier. In fact, it is still a tricky encounter, even without fully-evolved Pokémon. This reshuffle means that Veilstone and Pastoria’s Gym Battles are pushed back to fourth and fifth respectively.

Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl Review

While these adventures bring players back to a classic adventure in the franchise, the modern enhancements take away some of the challenge that made them so noteworthy. Pokémon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl are remasters of 15-year-old games, providing a new generation of gamers a chance to explore the Sinnoh region. But this isn’t just a basic retread of the older stories. A number of enhancements have been made to freshen the gameplay for a new audience, not counting the cute new visuals. These include an auto-save feature as you enter buildings or routes, and directions whenever you access your menu screen in case you’re ever lost about what to do next. These are supported by massive enhancements, such as the option to use hidden moves to bypass barriers such as rocks and trees, instead of taking a precious skill slot that isn’t necessarily useful in battle. Similarly, the option to always access Pokémon from anywhere you are, instead of having to trek back to town to remake your party, is a huge time-saver, and all Pokémon in your party share experience at the end of a battle, even if they’ve never been deployed in the match itself. These features are paired with improved connection options to help you trade Pokémon or battle with friends nearby or with other players around the world, as well as an improved Grand Underground that feels like you’re getting a second massive area you can explore for hours.

What Parents Need To Know

Parents need to know that Pokémon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl is a role-playing game exclusively for the Nintendo Switch. These two 2021 games are part of the long-running Pokémon franchise, which has created games, movies, TV shows, toys, and more. They also happen to be a remake of two games originally released in 2006, with updated visuals, gameplay features, and additional creatures that are unlocked if players have save files from previously released Switch Pokémon games. Combat is the main focus of play, but while players use elemental attacks to defeat their opponents, no blood or gore is shown, and enemies disappear in a flash of light when beaten. Aside from that, there’s no inappropriate content to be found. Players may find that this title is actually easier to play than the original games thanks to some of the newer Pokémon Switch features this makes it a bit more accessible for newcomers as well.

Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl: Different Evolution Pokmon

The number of version exclusive Pokémon in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl comes out to 20 exclusive Pokémon each. In total, both games each feature one unique legendary, one exclusive fossil, ten different wild Pokémon, seven evolution Pokémon, and one Pokémon that needs to be bred from a later evolution stage. The following list is of Pokémon that cant be found in the wild, but evolve from or into version exclusive Pokémon.

Use The Follow Feature To Forge A Bond

Like some later Pokemon games, you can select one special little monster to follow you around the overworld. Just visit Amity Park in Hearthome to unlock the function, and then swap your following Pokemon by selecting “Walk together” after selecting a Pokemon in your party. You can talk to your Pokemon from time to time, and sometimes it will have found random low-level items. It also gives it a slight passive boost in combat, and once your bond is strong enough you’ll see prompts in combat noting that it might have dodged an attack or kept from fainting due to its friendship with you.

The Menus And Ui Were Fine

Error

The idea that Platinum is a fix of the Diamond & Pearl games is also apparent with some additions that just make for easier and less frustrating gameplay. From making Pokétch navigation easier to changing the general template of the text when in a battle, Platinum has had much more than just its story and general gameplay changed.

The aesthetic changes included menu and UI alterations based on feedback regarding the other games, ultimately adding to the whole experience with better-looking and smoother-running menus. Even the location labels that appear when entering a new area have been redesigned.

Take Advantage Of Partners

A few times throughout Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, you’ll get temporarily partnered up with an NPC. This happens early in the woods, when you’re partnered with a friend who will help keep your Pokemon healthy in the woods. Take advantage of this by grinding a little extra in the area, since having that access to constant healing means you won’t have to venture back to town to stay healthy.

Pokmon Brilliant Diamond / Shining Pearl: Diferencias Y Exclusivos

There are some pokémon in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl that youll be able to add to your team by reviving them from Fossils found in the games’ Grand Underground area. While previous Pokémon games have let the player choose between fossil pokémon, Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl do things a little differently and there are two which are version-exclusive.

Those playing Brilliant Diamond will be able to revive the Rock-type Cranidos from the Skull Fossil. They can then evolve Cranidos into Rampardos.

Players of Shining Pearl, meanwhile, will have exclusive access to the Armor Fossil which revives the Rock/Steel-type Shieldon. They can then evolve Shieldon into Bastiodon.

Brilliant Diamond Exclusive Generation 3 Pokemon

The third generation of Pokemon games is a bit more divisive among fans. It is safe to say that not many of the critters in these games are considered classic, but they still have their fans out there. Mawile, Solrock, Seedot, Nuzleaf, Shiftry, and Kecleon are all exclusive to Brilliant Diamond.

Of those six Pokemon, Nuzleaf and Shiftry are the two best picks. They are both Dark/Grass-type, which is a unique combination for the series. However, that combo makes them extremely vulnerable to many other types: seven altogether. Theyre still fun to use despite that fact.

Aesthetic Changes Were Made To Sinnoh’s Map And Locations

With Platinum being released after Diamond & Pearl, it is only natural for it to be treated as a fix or a clean-up of sorts, giving the developers a chance to change the look and feel of locations and other aspects of the games. In Platinum, most cities have had refurbishments, whether it be pathways, additions to buildings, or general restructuring.

The idea is that the temperature has dropped in Platinum, so while some cities and towns have extra snow patches to reflect this, Dawn, Lucas, and the rival have updated outfits to reflect this change in climate.

Main Differences Between Pokemon Pearl And Diamond

Pokemon Diamond and Pearl get remakes from a new developer, out this ...
  • Pokemon Pearl is mostly preferred by girls while pokemon diamond is preferred by boys.
  • The art box of pokemon pearl signifies the term space while the art box of a pokemon diamond signifies the term time.
  • Pokemon diamond is rare to find in the pokemon world in comparison to finding a pokemon pearl.
  • Pokemon diamond is considered as the precious pokemon in comparison to pokemon pearl as the word diamond has a high value in the real world.
  • Pokemon diamond has the background of the art box in blue color while the pokemon pearl has the background of the art box in pink color.

    We Didnt Start With Fire

ILCAs faithfulness to the original Diamond and Pearl extends to the original pairs weaknesses, too, and nowhere does the commitment surface more conflicting emotions than in the roster of Pokémon you can build your team from. Diamond and Pearl have an utterly bizarre slate of Pokémon partners, skewed heavily toward a handful of types that make it challenging to assemble anything resembling a balanced group without being railroaded into using a few specific staples .

Thats still mostly the case in the Brilliant and Shining versions. ILCA devoutly stuck to the original roster monsters for the main story, with the rest unlocked in post-game and, frankly, some of the original Diamond and Pearl Pokémon line-up kind of stinks! While Platinums expanded roster is available for capture if you make enough visits to the Grand Underground and hunt long and hard enough, they dont appear on the surface where most of the story takes place, and it can be tricky to sniff out the exact partners you want to balance your team. Meanwhile, above ground, every other Pokémon is a Geodude, and there still arent enough fire-types to properly counter the hundred or so Bronzor youll inevitably have to fight.

Possible Differences Between Brilliant Diamond And Shining Pearl

Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are both still a ways away from releasing, so its impossible to say exactly what the major differences will be between them. Historically, Pokémon games have been near-identical aside from their exclusive Pokémon. However, the new games have many features that past ones have not. Character customization, Pokémon Contests, and Walking Pokémon have been in past games, and the Underground was a feature in the original Diamond and Pearl, but no game has had all of them before. Its entirely possible that these features will lead to differences between the two versions.

Character customization has been a fan-favorite feature in every Pokémon game its been featured in. There have already been several outfits debuted in various trailers, and its possible that certain outfits will be exclusive to one version of the game or another. Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon featured version-exclusive clothing, so it wouldnt be a stretch to expect it in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. There could also be version-exclusive accessories in Super Contests, or decorations for players Secret Bases in the Grand Underground. Theres also the possibility that the games will make certain Gym Leaders version-exclusive, like Pokémon Sword and Shielddid.
