Delete A Game Or Profile
Pokemon Y is the same as the X version. You can only have one game and profile saved. You can use the same 3DS console as a friend, but you both must have a separate card. When you want to start a new game or give your Pokemon Y to someone else, you want to delete your activity.
Youll go into the games menu and press the Up + X + B buttons. There is an option to delete your game and profile. Selecting Yes allows you or someone else to create a new profile and play a new game.

It’s time to dust off your 3DS and your copy of Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, because people have been reporting that their cartridges are no longer working, almost seven years after the release of the game.
A few people on Reddit and ResetEra are making sure to test their copies, and it seems like only the PAL version is affected, although it’s not clear what might have caused the issue yet.
One player notes that their copy hasn’t worked “since Spring 2020” another says that their copy of Alpha Sapphire hasn’t worked since at least 2019, and says it’s a “widespread issue” other people have managed to get their games to work fine despite being in European countries.
This wouldn’t be the first time that games have ceased to work after a certain amount of time. The original GBA Ruby and Sapphire games had a “berry glitch” that stopped berry trees from growing after 366 days from when the game was first played.
This glitch was in the pre-internet-on-consoles era, so patching the game was very difficult, and involved either owning a different Pokémon game that would add a patch to Ruby and Sapphire, or going in to specific game stores to download it from their special GBA. You could even send in the cartridge to Nintendo, up until August 2012.
Needless to say, it’ll be easier to patch Pokémon ORAS, as long as the issue is a simple one.

- Brendan and May have completely different attires, with Brendan’s brown hair and white hat being more obvious, while May has a bow instead of the bandana she originally wore.

How To Start A New Game In Pokemon X & Y
If youve picked up a used copy of Pokemon X or Y, or you just want to start over on your adventure, youll need to know how to start a new game. In recent Pokemon titles, the option to simply start a new game from the menu has disappeared, and youll instead only be able to continue the progress of the current save file.
As such, youll need to delete and format Pokemon X or Y first before you can start over. To do this, once youve reached the title screen press Up on the D-pad, B, and X all at the same time. This should then ask you if youd like to delete the existing save file. Confirm that this is what you want to do and the game will reboot. Once you reach the title screen this time around, you should have the option to start a new game in Pokemon X & Y.
If youre having problems when entering the button sequence, try entering it as the opening cutscenes are playing, as some players have reported to have had more success this way.
