Increasing The Chance Of Shiny Pokemon In Pokemon Go

Community Day is an event that occurs once a month in Pokemon Go. During Community Day, a specific Pokemon will increase its spawn rate for a limited time. During this time, the Pokemon will appear much more frequently on the map and the chance to run into a Shiny Pokemon is also increased. Players have reported running into 10-20 Shiny Pokemon per Community Day. For starters, to increase the chance of running into a shiny Pokemon during Comunity Day has a lot to do with tapping to capture the Pokemon. Normally when a player tapes on a Pokemon in the map, it’s expected that they will want to capture the Pokemon. To find more Shiny Pokemon, rather than capturing every Pokemon that appears, run away from combat and move on to the next Pokemon. Can I Increase My Shiny Odds In Pokmon Legends: Arceus

Yes! By finishing the Legends: Arceus , youll dramatically improve your Shiny odds at certain points in the game. You can improve your odds of catching a Shiny of a specific Pokémon species for reaching Species Research Level 10 for that Pokémon. Each Species Research Level 10 you complete will knock the Shiny odds for that Pokémon down to 1/2048. Then, on top of that, getting Species Research Perfect by finishing a page will knock that even further down to 1/1024.

An item called the Shiny Charm is available in the game, increasing your base odds of encountering a Shiny to 1/1128. In tandem with a Species Research Level 10 for a specific Pokémon, your odds improve to 1/820. In tandem with a Species Research Perfect, though, the Shiny Charm will improve your odds to 1/586.

Dont Skip Out On Encounters

Youll need to get into an encounter with a Pokémon to see if theyre shiny or not. Even if you arent planning to catch that Pokémon, you should still get into an encounter and check.

You can still capture them for sport and additional candy. If you cant tell whether a Pokémon is shiny by their looks, keep an eye on a little white symbol that appears right above their CP. Now, Pokemon trainers have different opinions on this but the numbers indicate there is a conclusive answer. By flying around, on a route which covers a large patch of land like Route 17, you can go through more wild Pokemon spawns than you can by walking or standing still.

The counter argument to this is it is less efficient on your lures. However, when factoring in the increase in Pokemon spawned vs the cost and time of acquiring those lures, it is still far more efficient to fly around.

It is possible to cheat in Pokémon Go, but some cheating can get you banned. In fact, the games developer Niantic is really cracking down on cheating.

Currently there are no maps which display the location and stats of all Pokémon, and there has been little to no progress from the hackers which had previously managed to reverse engineer the games API very quickly.

Plus, the in-game Pokémon tracker has been improved and prioritises Pokémon you havent yet caught and added to the Pokédex. This has made it much, much easier to catch regional Pokémon when youre travelling, so maps arent quite as essential now.

How To Get Lucky Pokmon

You can get Lucky Pokémon randomly when trading Pokémon with friends. When you trade, theres a small chance that your Pokémon will become Lucky. Both Pokémon will always become Lucky if one does.

According to research from The Silph Road, Pokémon are more likely to become Lucky if they were caught long ago. The research shows that Pokémon less than a year old have about a 5% chance to be lucky, Pokémon that are a year old have a 10% chance, and Pokémon that are two years old have a 25% chance. This means that holding onto rare Pokémon for a long time is probably worth doing, even if just to get a Lucky Pokémon.

If you have Lucky Friends, which happens randomly with Best Friends, then your next trade will be Lucky, guaranteed. While Niantic hasnt announced the Lucky Friends chance, some researchers on The Silph Road subreddit note that the Lucky Friends odds are a little bit below 2% per exchange.

You may have heard whispers of the elusive square shinies in Pokemon Sword and Shield, so let us shed some light on the situation. In an effort to add even more longevity to Galar by Game Freak, you can now find two types of shiny Pokemon standard and square. Standard shinies are the shiny Pokemon everyone knows and loves from previous games, while square shinies are brand new.

On paper, for every shiny encounter in the game, it has a 1/16 chance of being a square shiny instead of the standard. You’ll be able to tell whether it’s standard or square by the intro animation the usual stars will be replaced by square outlines, but the difference in colour palette is still the same. Don’t worry, square shinies aren’t a different shade!

It’s not quite as simple as that however. If you follow the chaining method explained above by catching or defeating 25 of the same Pokemon in a row, those 1/16 odds will be flipped. Instead, you’ll have 15/16 odds of finding a square shiny, and just 1/16 of the shiny being standard.
