When in Adventure mode, performing activities with Buddies increases their mood. The highest level mood, excited can also give you benefits for a limited time.
When your buddy is excited as indicated by a cheering icon surrounded by Hearts then youll receive the following benefits:
- Candy distances will be halved
- Your daily Heart cap increases to 20
Getting a Pokémon excited, then, has its perks. To get it excited, there are two methods:
To make a Pokemon excited, you can either:
- Use Poffin a shop-only item you can purchase from the shop for 100 Coins which also fills all feeding heart meters for the day
- Perform enough actions to reach a certain threshold
Though the second one is free, its neither easy or particularly obvious from the outset. You must collect 32 points from performing various activities, but you cannot do them at once each individual activity has a 30 minute cooldown, with the exception of walking.

Some clarifications on the above, thanks to TheTraveller on reddit you can get multiple Battle points within a half hour if you Battle different ways and Souvenirs, Presents and visiting new Stops have no cooldown, just like walking.
Its also important to note that, with the introduction of the Season of Celebrations on Tuesday, 1st December, the number of hearts you can earn daily from battling was increased to three.
Pokemon Go Get Glaceon And Leafeon

Pokemon Go Sylveon Nickname Trick
First up is the nickname trick you can use to get either your very first Sylveon to tick it off the Pokedex, or save until you have a shiny/100% Eevee you want to dedicate to be the best Sylveon possible.
If youre unsure how this works, all you have to do is change the nickname of the Eevee you want to evolve to Kira. The question mark in the evolve button should change to a silhouette of Sylveon if you do not see that silhouette, do not press evolve and instead restart your app then try again. This is a one-time use trick so once youve used the name Kira once, youll have to follow the method below for any more Sylveons you want to add to your collection.
Can The Eevee Nickname Trick Fail
Choosing the evolution of Eevee in Pokémon GO through the nickname change is an alternative or trick that only works once for each eeveelution. That is, one for each of the seven members available to date in the game . If you have an Eevee and rename it Sakura, it will evolve into Espeon, but only once. In case you try again it will not work with that nickname.
This trick may not work with Umbreon Y Espeon if there has been a problem monitoring your steps. The requirement for these two evolutions is to accumulate 10 km walked during the day or during the night . If the evolution does not take place, it is because the distance has not been well counted or there has been some derived problem. Therefore, keep walking and make sure that the game is day or night, even if it is adjusted to the real time.

Each of Eevees eight evolutions has different stats and weaknesses. Knowing these will help you choose what to keep from your mega Community Day haul.
All eight ‘Eeveelutions’ are now available in Pokémon GO: Sylveon, Umbreon, Espeon, Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Leafeon and Glaceon.
In the “classic” Pokémon games, this particular monster is able to evolve into different types depending on what special items you have, its happiness level, the moves it has unlocked and the time of day. Thankfully you don’t have to jump through those kinds of hoops in Pokémon GO.

The Second Trick To Evolve More Espeon And Umbreon
If you want more Espeon and Umbreon but you have exhausted the nickname trick, there is another way, which is to raise your Buddys friendship level and evolve these Gen 2 Pokemon at a specific time of day. Below is how.
Simply add the Eevee you want to evolve as your Buddy. To add a buddy Pokemon, tap your Trainer avatar in the lower-left corner of the screen and tap on the More button. Select the Buddy option from the menu. Then, choose your buddy from your list of Pokemon. You can choose any Pokemon that hasnt been assigned to a Gym.
Walk with your Eevee Buddy for at least 10km and earn two Eevee candy. You need to have earned two candy for this to work.
While that Eevee is still your Buddy, hit the Evolve button during the day to get Espeon, or at night to get Umbreon. Again, always check the silhouette in the EVOLVE tab to make sure it is the form you want.
You can swap out Eevee for another Buddy in between, but youll have to swap that specific Eevee back to being your Buddy before you evolve him/her into Umbreon or Espeon.

Espeon and Umbreon use a similar method to the original three Eeveelutions, though there are two more key factors that must be taken into account: time of day and walking distance.
First, add Eevee as your walking buddy so it appears on-screen with you. Next, you’ll need to walk a total of 10KM with Eevee as your buddy in order to strengthen its bond with you. Finally, use 25 Eevee Candy to evolve it to either Espeon during the day or Umbreon at night. That’s it!
Also, if you’d prefer to use the nickname method from before and skip the walking or day/night requirements, there are names for Espeon and Umbreon as well. Here’s what you need to name your Eevee in order to get the evolution you want:

How To Get Sylveon In Pokmon Go Without The Name Trick
As stated, there are three ways how to get Sylveon in Pokémon Go in total. One of the ways, the famous name trick cheat, we have already analyzed and explained in the preceding paragraph, so it remains to explain the other two. The first method of obtaining Sylveon is via the regular evolution method, as shown in the game.
The regular evolution requirement for Eevee, i.e., having 25 Eevee Candy, remains here, but Sylveon has some additional requirements that have to be met in order to get Sylveon the regular way.
The second thing you have to do is make Eevee your Buddy Pokémon, a concept introduced in the game to earn Candy with a specific Pokémon quicker than usual. Your Buddy Eevee has to earn a total of 70 Hearts in order to evolve into Sylveon, which is a large number.
Why? Well, there are limits to how many hearts you can earn per day. The following lists all the Buddy Activities that can earn Affection hearts and EP. Activities in italics denote that the buddy must be walking in the overworld map to count towards points for Affection and Mood.

Name Trick Method For Evolving Eevee Into Espeon
One of the two ways that Pokemon GO trainers can turn their Eevee into an Espeon is by using a naming trick that was discovered quite some time ago. By changing Eevee’s name to Sakura, it’ll automatically turn into Espeon once it has been fed 25 Eevee Candies.

To change the name of a Pokemon, players will want to go into the Pokemon’s profile and then hit the pencil icon by its current name. This will allow for the changing of a Pokemon’s nickname. It’s worth noting that this trick will only work one time per evolution type, meaning that players will not be able to get multiple Espeon’s from this exploit. Make sure to pick the perfect Eevee with the best stats before the decision is made.
Once the nickname has been changed, players will need to select the Evolve option in the Pokemon’s data screen. Pokemon GO will then make the player confirm the evolution, and then the Espeon will be there to greet them. Of course, trainers can always change the nickname to something else or just name it Espeon, depending on how they play. Changing Sakura to anything else will not cancel out the evolution or somehow revert the Espeon back into an Eevee.
