New 12km Eggs Are Available From Team Rocket Grunts And Can Hatch New Pokmon

Pokemon GO Eggstravaganza Event

ByJim Martin, Editor| 14 Oct 2020

These days theres almost never a lull in Pokémon GO. Events run back to back almost constantly and now theres another one to introduce a new feature: Strange Eggs.

Effectively the same as normal Eggs, but requiring 12km of walking to hatch, the real difference is how you get Strange Eggs.

Instead of from a PokéStop or Gym or as a reward for walking a certain distance during the week Strange Eggs are obtained by defeating a Team GO Rocket leader.

To do that, youll need a Rocket Radar in order to track down and defeat one of the three leaders, Cliff, Sierra or Arlo. And to get a Radar, as you probably know, you must amass six mysterious Components. You get one of these for each Grunt you defeat, and they can be found at black Team GO Rocket PokéStops or Balloons.

These Balloons are appearing more frequently until 19 October for the autumn event, as is Giovanni. Don’t forget to zoom out on the map as sometimes you might miss a Balloon because it’s out of view.

Fortunately, during the event, Strange Eggs will hatch after only 3km thanks to the ¼ hatch distance that is in effect for the event. After that, they will need the full 12km, or 8km in a Super Incubator.

How To Get 7km Eggs In Pokemon Go

Any Pokemon GO players who are dedicated to catching them all might want to try and acquire 7km eggs, since they hatch some pretty unique Pokemon.

Eggs have been a mainstay in Pokemon since Generation II, where Game Freak implemented Egg moves and breeding. In Pokemon GO, though, they added a new spin on the concept with the walking distances.

Generally, the longer a trainer needs to walk to hatch an egg, the more rare that Pokemon will be. 7km eggs in particular, though, always hatch regional variants. Heres how trainers can get a hold of them.

Can You See How Far You’ve Traveled With A Pokmon Go Egg

Yup! As you walk, the Pokémon Egg screen will update to show you the distance you’ve walked each Egg up to one decimal place. For example, if you walk 1.3 KM, you’ll see 1.3 / 2 KM, 1.3 / 5 KM, or 1.3 / 10 KM.

If you tap on a Pokémon Egg, you can see the distance up to two decimal places.

The distance is updated every few minutes so, don’t worry if you walk for a bit and don’t see any immediate changes.

Pokemon Go: How To Get Rid Of Eggs

Your quest to catch em all is going to see you catch a ton of Pokemon and hatch just as many Eggs. While these are a great way of getting some rare Pokemon you may need, others may be getting you nothing more than low-level, common duplicates.

While some of the Pokemon that can hatch from a 10km Eggs are definitely worth your time, some of those in the 2km Eggs may no longer be needed for your collection. If youre finding this is the case, youll probably want to be able to get rid of some to allow you to pick up others that you do want from PokeStops.

Unfortunately, the only way to get rid of one and clear up your inventory is to hatch it. Once its there, its gotta be hatched. Of course, theres nothing to say that this wont be a feature that Niantic wont add in at a later date. For now, you better get walking. You can also purchase additional Incubators to speed up the process.

How Fast Can You Walk To Hatch A Pokmon Egg

It’s currently believed the optimal speed for hatching a Pokémon Go is 10.5 KM/H . Go slower, and it’ll just take you longer to hatch. Go faster, and Pokémon Go will discount the distance you’re traveling or, if you go fast enough, ignore it altogether.

If you reach 35 KM/H , you’ll get the speed-lock popup. At that point, little if any of your distance will be counted.

How To Incubate An Egg In Pokemon Go

Pokemon Go provides you with a number of different ways to acquire Pokemon Go.

These options include catching them, battling in raids, and hatching eggs.

If youre new to Pokemon Go or havent fully explored the games interface, you might not realize that you have eggs, and that you can hatch them with the help of an incubator.

Hatching eggs in Pokemon Go is a great way to get new species of Pokemon, often with better stats than the Pokemon you catch in the overworld.

Our guide below will show you how to incubate an egg in Pokemon Go on an iPhone.

Use A Roomba While Playing Pokemon Go

If you have a Roomba or any other robotic cleaner in the house, then you can also take its assistance to hack Pokemon Go eggs. All you got to do is place your phone on the Roomba and let it move around in your house. Since the robotic cleaner would move slowly, it will make Pokemon Go believe that you are walking instead. Just be sure that your phone will stay safe and protected. I would recommend placing it in a waterproof lock to further protect it from any wear and tear.

Use An Android Location Spoofer

This is one of the quickest ways to learn how to hatch Pokemon Go eggs without walking. If you own an Android device, then you can simply use a GPS spoofing app to manually change the location of your device. This will trick Pokemon Go into believing that you are walking instead. For iPhone users, the feature would need a jailbroken device though.

While changing your location, make sure that you do it tactfully. For instance, if an egg would need 10 kilometers of walking, then change your location gradually instead of just switching it in one go. Hereâs how to hatch eggs in Pokemon Go without walking by using a GPS spoofer.

  • Firstly, unlock your Android phone and go to its Settings > About Phone to tap the Build Number field 7 times. This will unlock the Developer Options settings on your Android.
  • Now, go to the Play Store and install a reliable location spoofing app on your phone. Later, visit its Settings > Developer Options and turn it on. Also, allow mock locations on the phone and choose the installed app from here.
  • Thatâs it! Now you can just launch the fake GPS app and manually change your location to a few meters away to trick Pokemon Go. Do the same a few times to cover a prominent distance.
  • Just be sure that Pokemon Go wonât detect that you are using a GPS spoofer to hatch eggs. The regular use of an app like this might result in your account ban.

Do You Have To Travel In A Straight Line

Can you delete eggs in Pokemon?

Pokémon Go measures distance in a straight line based on the change in GPS position. So, to get maximum distance, you should travel in a straight line too.

It’s believed that Pokémon Go actually records distance more frequently, though. Somewhere between one to four times a minute. So, you could theoretically change direction after a minute or so and still get good results.

How Do I Get Rid Of Eggs

I’m already at the limit of 9 and most of them are 5km eggs. Is there any way to get rid of them? I want to make space for 10km eggs because I hope they contain rarer Pokémon.

There doesn’t seem to be a way to remove eggs as of this moment. Seems like the only way is to hatch them.

    • I hoped I’ve overseen a button on the interface, thanks for telling me. Guess that means it’s time for a walk in the park. 🙂 GigalaJul 8 ’16 at 7:16

    • As of 2020 April, you have to hatch those eggs to create extra space. Pushing people to walk to empty the slots. And i think they will never allow to delete eggs because it hurts 😀
    • @Dragonrage Not like they read the reports anyways.. InsaneJul 18 ’16 at 22:10
    • That’s not true either @Insane , considering how popular the game is, the amount of reports coming in per day is too much to respond and handle. – Overall, Dragon is still right, Best leave the report feature for bugs and issues, The Devs have other channels for low priority feature requests. Can You Get Rid Of Eggs In Pokmon Go

The only way of getting rid of eggs in Pokémon Go is through placing them inside incubators and hatching them by walking their specified distances. While it may sound a lot of work, if there are way too many Pokémon Eggs that youd like to just delete for new ones, its possible to speed up the process.

Acquiring multiple Incubators to make the most of each Pokémon Go session will be key to hatching more Eggs whenever you get to play the game. You can purchase a Blue Incubator, for starters, from the in-game shop for 150 Pokécoins. A Super Incubator, which costs 200 Pokécoins, reduces the amount of distance needed to hatch an egg by 33 percent.

If youre good on Incubators, youll need to find a way to cover more distance in shorter times. Some trainers may find going for runs more beneficial than walking since running also decreases the time itll take to hatch an egg.

Besides running, you can also cycle, skate, or even roam around in a cart as long as you dont go faster than 15 miles per hour. If you go any faster the app wont register any more distance traveled for your incubating Eggs.

The speed limit was one of the first precautions Niantic introduced in 2016. Players tried to simultaneously drive and play Pokémon Go to catch more Pokémon while hatching as many Eggs as possible. In addition to being slightly unfair to players that didnt access to a car, the practice was also quite dangerous, so a speed limit had to be introduced.

It may be time that you go for that run, after all.

Roaming around the wild isnt the only way of obtaining Pokémon in Pokémon Go. It doesnt always have to be a Poké Ball-throwing contest every time you want to expand your Pokédex. Pokémon Eggs are one of the prime ways of unlocking more Pokémon in the most peaceful way possible.

Regardless of their specified distances, each Pokémon Egg can be unlocked by walking after you place them into an Incubator. Though hatching two-kilometer eggs wont be a problem for most trainers since they already cover that much ground while playing Pokémon Go, cracking the seven and 10-kilometer ones may prove to be tough challenges.

Eggs with higher kilometer thresholds will bear better rewards, but if you only need Eggs to quickly complete Research Tasks, it may be a decent idea to stack your inventory with two-kilometer ones.

Heres everything you need to know about getting rid of Eggs in Pokémon Go to free up space for new ones.

Egg hatching has an unconfirmed speed limit to prevent people shaking their phones in cars, but I find that biking is much more efficient than walking when it comes to hatching eggs.

    • Problem is, it’s not very safe to use your phone and cycle. Having to constantly unlock your phone after a timeout or make sure a random button wasn’t pressed, isn’t ideal…Jul 21 ’16 at 8:19

I actually found a pretty great way to hatch eggs. I know it works but I haven’t confirmed the rate at which I can hatch them.

First I secured my iPhone to the ceiling fan. I have a brass knuckle phone case so I just tied the knot through the finger hole and duct taped it to the fan. Then I realized it wasn’t registering, because I didn’t have walking movements, so I lengthened the string so it would nearly touch the wall, and then I put a pillow on the wall. The phone hits the pillow harmlessly and then shakes when it hits to simulate walking.

    You’re all very welcome.
