Pokémon Diamond and Pearl were classic entries in the creature-catching franchise, still regarded by many as one of the best.
Set in the region of Sinnoh, an island based on the Japanese island of Hokkaid.
The game sees the adventures of a new Pokémon trainer, controlled by the player, who strives to become the Pokémon League Champion by collecting and training Pokémon.
Players are tasked with collecting eight gym badges in order to Challenge the Pokémon League, which spreads across the region of Sinnoh.
Diamond and Pearl, as well as its Platinum expansion, featured 210 Pokemon.
Pokemon Brilliant Diamond And Shining Pearl Trailers
The announcement video shows the game evolving from the Nintendo DS version to a fully 3D experience with a more interactive interface. Many familiar faces make a brief appearance, albeit with updated character design.
Some users have criticized the new chibi art style, and mentioned that it is something of a deviation from what were used to seeing in Pokemon, whilst others have complemented the change in direction and applauded the new approach to the series.

Pokemon Diamond And Pearl Remakes
Ever since the release of Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen in 2004, Game Freak, Nintendo, and The Pokemon Company have consistently remade each Pokemon generation for newer platforms. The latest set of remakes, not counting the Let’s Go games, were Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire on the 3DS in 2014. There’s been about five years between each of the Pokemon remakes, so Pokemon fans are technically overdue for Diamond and Pearl remakes.
Pokemon Diamond and Pearl marked the franchise’s debut on the Nintendo DS, and they launched with a number of improvements and innovations for the franchise. Some aspects of Diamond and Pearl may not have aged particularly well, but those issues could be ironed out in remakes. Out of all the possibilities listed here, it seems as though Diamond and Pearl remakes are the most likely possibilities, especially since Time Diamond and Space Pearl titles leaked alongside Pokemon Sword and Shield back in 2017.
Are Pokemon’s Gen 9 Games Coming In 2022
The release date of Pokemon Legends: Arceus has fans buzzing about the potential release of a new generation of Pokemon games in 2022. Earlier today, The Pokemon Company announced that it would be releasing Pokemon Legends: Arceus on January 22nd, 2022. The announcement was a surprise for a few reasons, not only because the game is coming out just over two months after the release of Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, but also because the games leave room for the release of a “main series” Pokemon game during its traditional release window in 2022. That has fans speculating whether The Pokemon Company will release its next generation of Pokemon games in 2022, which would add a new region and new Pokemon to the franchise.
The Pokemon fanbase unofficially labels Pokemon games by generation, which are always marked by a new Pokemon game set in a new region and featuring new Pokemon. We’re currently in the eighth generation of Pokemon games, which started with the launch of Pokemon Sword and Shield in 2019. Instead of receiving an “enhanced version” of Pokemon Sword and Shield, The Pokemon Company instead opted to release DLC for Pokemon Sword and Shield that nearly doubled the size of the game. The upcoming games Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl and Pokemon Legends: Arceus are also both considered “Gen 8” games.

Wrapping Up Sword & Shield
Game Freak still has plans for Pokémon Sword & Shield before the end of the year. Naturally, the most substantial is the upcoming Crown Tundra DLC, which will wrap up the two-part expansion pass that began with June’s Isle of Armor. In addition to that, a complete edition of both Pokémon Sword and Shield is slated for this November, offering the respective base games and DLC in one package.

Bearing this in mind, it’s unlikely that Galar will receive a third version, similar to Pokémon Platinum. That follow-up to Diamond & Pearl was the last third version, as both Black & White and Sun & Moon received dual follow-ups, while X & Y simply ended the Kalos adventures there. As such, it doesn’t seem likely that the third version trope will pop up again here. Likewise, since Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon launched only a year after the base versions, it seems fairly clear that the development of the Expansion Pass has taken the place of a sequel game. That is perhaps for the better, as it frees up more development resources which can be allocated to Gen IX.
Appearances In Other Games
Several Pokémon PC games were released for Microsoft Windows and Macintosh. Games from the franchise were also released in Japan for Sega consoles Pico and Advanced Pico Beena. Pokémon are also in for Nintendo 64DD as pasteable stickers, and they also appear in Picross NP Vol. 1 for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System.

Where Will The Next Pokemon Game Take Place
What are your thoughts on where the next game will take place? I think it will come out in one year as another Ref/Blue remake for the 20th anniversary of those games
I think we’ll either get a Kalos sequel or a Kanto remake next. It’s still a bit too early for Sinnoh remakes in my opinion .
Getting a Kanto remake for the 20th anniversary seems possible, but since there are other options they might postpone it to the 25th anniversary.
The Kalos sequel.. or the myserious new region the hiker in the hotel talked about may be next. If we get the new region I think it will be based on germany.
I don’t know why, but I just have the feeling it will be. Kalos used to be at war with its neighbouring countries . There are German speaking npcs in X and Y etc. It’s really Farfetch’d, but I still have the feeling we’ll see a Germany themed Pokémon game some time.
The one I want most are the Kanto remakes to be honest. We’ll just have to wait and see 🙂

Thanks to a new leak from a Pokemon Unite dataminer, it seems we have 3 new Pokemon coming soon to Pokemon Unite!

Dates Revealed For Pokmon Legends: Arceus Pokmon Brilliant Diamond And Pokmon Shining Pearl
Today, The Pokémon Company International and Nintendo announced new details for the Pokémon Brilliant Diamond, Pokémon Shining Pearl, and Pokémon Legends: Arceus games, as well as new feature updates for Pokémon HOME. Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl will launch on November 19, 2021, and Pokémon Legends: Arceus will launch on January 28, 2022. All three games will be available exclusively on Nintendo Switch systems.
Which Pokemon Will Be Part Of The Game
Of course, Pikachu, Charizard, and Snorlax could not miss this new adventure. But there are some interesting exclusions. Here’s the list of the Pokemon confirmed so far:

Pokmon Legends Arceus: Pokmon Confirmed So Far
Pokémon Legends: Arceus will task players with filling one of the region’s first Pokédexes so it’s natural to wonder which Pokémon we’re going to be chasing down in the game. There’s no comprehensive official list just yet but thanks to our friends at GamesRadar, we do have a list of the twenty Pokémon that appeared in the game’s announcement trailer.

That’s quite a few so far. Given the game is set in the Sinnoh region, it’s not entirely surprising that there are a lot of Generation 4 Pokémon in that list and it seems reasonable to assume that their evolutionary forms will also probably be present in the game.
We expect that in the run-up to the game’s release, Nintendo and Game Freak will confirm more of the Pokémon that we can expect to see in Pokémon Legends: Arceus so we’ll keep updating this list as and when they’re revealed.
Pokemon Unite Release Date Confirmed
Lets start with the most important detail… When do we get to give Pokemon Unite a go?! Until now, all we’ve seen is information about the Regional Beta.
Finally the developers have announced that Pokemon Unite will release on July 21, 2021, for the Nintendo Switch, with the mobile version following in September of the same year.

Metazoo In High Demand
Checking various online retailers reveals that all the cards are sold out and that MetaZoo is currently fetching high prices on eBay due to the low supply and high demand.
The MetaZoo Cryptid Nation 1st Edition Kickstarter Booster Box is selling for north of $8k.
The 1st Edition Booster Boxes are selling for $700 or more each.
The Nightfall booster boxes that will be released in October are also selling for upwards of $225 each.
Pokemon Brilliant Diamond And Shining Pearl New Features
Theres a couple of new things coming to the remakes that mean they will not be 1:1 redos of the original.
Customization: First up, theres player customization. Similar to the majority of other modern Pokemon games, Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl will allow you to alter your outfits and your Pokeballs. By slapping stickers and other items on your balls , you can alter the appearance of your Pokemon when they appear in battle. Sending a Chatot in? Make some musical notes appear around it. Flinging in a Pikachu? Lil zaps of electric.
The Grand Underground: The Grand Underground area has also been altered. You can drop down into the underground area from outside areas in the above map, and from there you can establish a secret base. In the remakes, youve been given the opportunity to place various Pokemon statues in your secret base, and how you decorate your lair will affect the Pokemon that show up in the Grand Underground hideouts areas. As per Nintendo, this is the only way youll be able to catch certain Pokemon in the game (the video shows off a Houndoom as an example of this.
Some of the walls in the Grand Underground can be dug into, using a sledgehammer and a pickax. By digging into them, you can find things like useful items for your adventure and valuable Pokémon Fossils, as well as new Pokémon statues that have been added to these games.

These versions are the enhanced versions of the very first games that came out.

Pokmon Games That Could Be Coming In 2021
Another game potentially coming out this year is Pokémon Unite. The free-to-play MOBA will be playable on Switch, as well as iOS and Android devices. However, Pokémon Unite was met with disappointment when it was announced in summer 2020, likely because it doesn’t fall in line with other Pokémon games in the series and has the potential to be a mobile cash-trap full of microtransactions. Currently, there is no set release date for Pokémon Unite, and it remains to be seen if developers can sway fans into becoming excited for its launch.
Importantly, 2021 is Pokémon‘s 25th anniversary. Game Freak will likely have plans to celebrate this in some way, so fans might at least get a few exciting surprise announcements this year. Coupled with what fans already know, Pokémon‘s anniversary means 2021 could be a big year for the series, and hopefully more information on upcoming content will be released in the near future.
