Pokemon Unite Trevenant Release Date & Character Spotlight Gameplay

Huge leaks have already revealed more characters coming to Pokemon Unite so the announcement of Trevenant came as a surprise for many players.

Whats even more surprising is how soon the Trevenant will arrive in the game. While the English Pokemon Unite Twitter account didnt include the characters release date, it looks like the Japanese one did.

According to the Pokemon Unite Japan Twitter account, Trevenant will be coming to the game on January 20. This is just a week from today!

Additionally, the developer confirmed that Trevenant will be a defender, but we will have to wait a bit longer to find out the exact movest.

In the meantime though, you can get a good look at Trevenants moves in the character spotlight. This includes an AoE damage ability, a cage that pushes players back, and a powerful-looking Unite Move.

Will you be picking up Trevenant when it arrives in Pokemon Unite? Lets hope its even more powerful than the other top-tier defenders Snorlax, Blastoise, and Crustle.

Switch Released On July 21st

Why July 21st?

A simple explanation from Japanese fans often rings true across games of different genres Japanese companies tend to release games before Japanese holidays, to give players plenty of time to play the game as much as possible.

Japanese audiences will enjoy a four-day weekend from July 22nd to July 25th, so it’s likely that the release was scheduled for Wednesday, July 21st to coincide with the holiday.

How Many Maps Are In Pokmon Unite

As of now, there are four maps for Pokemon UNITE. They are:

• Remoat Stadium is a large battlefield, ideal for big plays and coordinated efforts.
• Shivre City only has one single goal zone per team, which means you’ll constantly battle the enemy for control of the map.
• Auroma Park is a map made for fast team battles, thanks to the conveyor belts around the map.
• Mer Stadium is a 4v4 map that features a limited number of goal zones per team.

Which Pokemon Are In Pokemon Unite

When it comes to the list of Pokemon available in the game, there is no official list as of now, however, the trailer confirms that Pikachu, Blastoise, Charizard, Clefable, Gengar, Lucario, Machamp, Snorlax, and Talonflame, and Venasaur, will all be part of the game, along with their evolutions. This is because the game will also have an evolution mechanic. Apart from these Pokemons, we may also see the likes of Aipom, Altaria, Rotom, and Toxicroak make it to the game as they were spotted during a gameplay segment of the event.

When Is Pokemon Unite Coming To Mobile

Pokemon Unite has been confirmed as releasing on mobile devices in September 2021. There is no exact date provided by Nintendo or developer TiMi Studios, but there has been no indication the version will be delayed. Thankfully, the multiplayer title has been confirmed as including cross-save and cross-play functionality. This means Switch players don’t have to worry about starting over from scratch and having to grind for every battle item or favorite unlockable Pokemon Licences if they want to make the change to Mobile.

While great for friends without a Switch who want to team up together, the cross-play feature could lead to more AFK and rage quitting teammates. It is far easier to just swipe an app away and forget about a losing match when there’s 1000 other apps somebody can distract themselves with. Hopefully the Fair Play points system will weed this undesirable gameplay out from cross-play games.

By the Pokemon Unite release for Mobile in September, Blastoise should more than likely be included in the roster. This means all 4 starters from the original Kanto region will be available. This might be disappointing for Sinnoh region Pokemon fans, or indeed any fan of the other regional characters in the franchise, but it’s a great inclusion for those who love Squirtle.

Wondering what all playable characters will be available in Pokemon Unite? Nintendo is yet to officially confirm all the Pokemon you will be able to play, but it lists some of them on its official website. Plus, we also spotted some Pokemon in the trailers released over the past year.

What’s The Gameplay Like

Pokémon UNITE is a multiplayer online battle arena or MOBA. Players participate in Unite Battles, where Trainers compete in 5-on-5 team battles. The key to victory in a Unite Battle is to have a higher score than the other team when time runs out. To earn points for your team, you must gather Aeos energy by defeating opposing Pokémon and the wild Pokémon on the field and then depositing that energy in one of the opposing team’s goal zones.

Unite Battles take place in various stadiums, and the rules for each stadium differ. There can be different numbers of team members, different match lengths, and even different Legendary Pokémon that appear.

Participating Pokémon all enter the fight at Lv. 1, and throughout each battle, they gain Exp. Points, level up, and can even temporarily evolve. As Pokémon level up, they learn powerful moves and evolve, and when a Pokémon reaches higher levels, it also learns its Unite Move a powerful move that can only be learned and used in Unite Battles.

Pokemon Unite Arena/ Maps

The basic map layout in Pokemon Unite will see the map being divided into two sections between your side and the enemies. The maps will have a top and bottom lane through which players can send their Pokemon. The lanes will be further connected through three vertical lanes for easier navigation. The maps will feature bushes where players can hide and wait for a surprise attack. Players will also have a small minimap on the upper-left corner to quickly glance at the information.

While we dont exactly know if the number of goal zones will change depending on the map, the current layout shows 5 Goal Zones on each side. The Goal Zones are divided across the map two zones on top, two on the bottom, and one near the spawn point.

There are a number of maps coming to Pokemon Unite. The map you see above was seen in the recently released cinematic trailer. However, other maps revealed in trailers include Shivre City, which reportedly only has one goal zone, Zefio Park , and another unnamed map. Expect to see these and more when the game releases.

Some other elements of the map include Arrow panels and Towers. However, the use and effects of these arent clear just yet.

The Rules Of Unite Battles

To earn points for your team, you must gather Aeos energy by defeating wild and opposing Pokémon and then deposit that energy in one of the opposing teams goal zones. Cooperating with your teammates is very important, so be sure to keep them in mind when youre making your moves. Unite Battles also take place in various stadiums, and the rules for each stadium may differ.

When Is The Pokmon Unite Mobile Release Date

Although type strengths and weaknesses do not exist in Unite Battles, each Pokémon has its own unique stats and roleAttacker, Defender, Speedster, Supporter, or All-Rounder:

• Attacker: Have low Endurance but deal heavy ranged damage to opponents.
• Speedster: Have high mobility and Offense for making quick attacks and scoring points.
• All-Rounder: Highly tenacious fighters with balanced Offense and Endurance.
• Defender: Have high Endurance, protect allies, and hinder opponents.
• Supporter: Inflict status conditions on enemies and heal allies.

To use a Pokémon in Unite Battles, you need to have a Unite license for that Pokémon. Unite licenses can be obtained through the Unite Battle Committee, where you can exchange Aeos coins for your desired license.
