‘pokmon Go’ Easter Event: Fans Theorize About Egg

A favorite pastime of Pokémon Go players is theorizing about upcoming events. It’s not hard to do in a game that’s had Christmas events, Valentine’s Day events and even Pokémon Day events. But seemingly obvious event material like St. Patrick’s Day and April Fools’ Day were passed over in favor of a Water Festival, so there’s always enough speculation in play to keep the wheels turning.

The next big holiday coming up is Easter, and fans are wondering what if anything Niantic might have in store. In any case, the Silph Road has some ideas, so read on below to find out what everyone is thinking.

Pokemon Go Easter Event Now Underway For A Limited Time

POKÉMON GO EASTER EVENT LEAK: DOUBLE XP INCREASED RARE EGGS

The Eggstravaganza event is back.

A new event is now underway in Pokemon Go. Ahead of this month’s Community Day, Niantic is bringing back the Easter-themed Eggstravaganza event, making it easier for players to hatch certain Pokemon and providing extra bonuses for a limited time.

The event kicked off on March 22 and gives players a chance to hatch an “even greater variety” of Pokemon from Eggs. In particular, monsters that typically hatch from 5 km or 10 km Eggs, like Wynaut or Ralts, can be found in 2 km Eggs for the duration of the event. Some Pokemon, such as Pichu and Togepi, will also hatch more frequently.

In addition to that, every Egg that players hatch during the Eggstravaganza event will come with extra Candy. Niantic is also offering double Stardust throughout the event as an added bonus, and special boxes that contain Super Incubators, Star Pieces, and other items will be available for purchase from the in-game shop.

Niantic is hosting the third Pokemon Go Community Day event this weekend, on March 25. As before, the event will run for a three-hour block of time. The featured Pokemon for this month’s Community Day is the classic Red and Blue starter Bulbasaur, and if players manage to evolve it into a Venusaur during the event hours, it will learn the powerful Grass-type attack Frenzy Plant.

‘pokmon Go’ Announces Its Easter ‘eggstravaganza’ Event Which Starts Today

Pokemon GO

Niantic

Yesterday, I laid out a detailed plan for a pretty cool Easter Egg hunt type event that Pokémon GO could consider doing for the holiday which involved players hunting down and opening wild eggs that would contain cash, prizes and Pokémon.

Today, Niantic has announced their actual Easter event, an Eggstravaganza, that does indeed use the egg theme as expected, but in perhaps more traditional ways than I would have liked to see.

The event starts today at 1 PM PDT, and runs through April 20th, the usual week-long sprint for an event like this. So, whats included?

– 2 km eggs will hatch a greater range of Pokémon besides whats normally in 2 km eggs

– You will get more candy per egg hatch. Not clear whether its double or not

– Its a double XP event, and to boost that further, Lucky Eggs are 50% off in the item store for 4x XP if you want it

And thats it.

Its pretty simplistic, and Im not exactly in love with the concept. Granted I wasnt expecting them to do exactly what I laid out yesterday, but this is pretty basic for a GO event, and I think they could have done a lot more with it.

‘Pokémon GO’

I am guessing there will be some sort of secret buried in this even , as there usually is, but that may take a little while to sort out. Check back here at 1 PM PT when the event starts, and maybe there will be a few surprises revealed at that time.

Pokemon Go Easter Event Start Time Details Strategy

This afternoon the Pokemon GO Easter Event begins though you wont find Niantic calling it that, exactly. Instead, Niantic calls this their Pokemon GO Eggstravaganza, and it begins this afternoon. In this event we’ll find that a “greater variety of Pokemon can now be found in 2 km Eggs,” in addition to additional Candy in every egg hatched. There’s a bit more XP to be had at this event as well.

POKEMON GO MORE SHINY POKEMON WITH EASTER EVENT??

Here’s what changes during the Easter event:

  • Introduces new creatures in 2km Eggs
  • Increase Candy drops from all Egg hatches only
  • Double Stardust from all sources, with Star Pieces doubling again for 4x gains
  • Limited store boxes including Star Pieces and Super Incubators

The headline activity in this seasonal event is that a “greater variety of Pokémon” will start appearing in 2km eggs.

So far there’s no confirmation of which new Pokémon are set to appear, other than the Wynaut and Ralts mentioned in the official press release and the Magby and Togepi in the official imagery. There’s also a mention of an “increased hatch rate for Pichu and Togepi,” so expect all of the baby Pokémon to be in 2km Eggs, then, at the very least.

We’ll update this page when we have a confirmed list, but for now we do know which Pokémon were added to 2km Eggs last year, at least. Here’s the full list, so you have an idea of what we can expect:

  • Aerodactyl
