In this article we will see how to create new Pokéstops and Gyms for the Pokémon GO game.

To request new Pokéstops and Gyms, just access the form made available by Niantic , a company that produces the viral game that has now become a real international success .

The request form is accessible at the following address

What Do Gyms Look Like

Gyms look like domed arenas perched on top of towers. They start rather short but, when enough Pokémon are added to them, they grow and become much more substantial. The arena rises higher and flags showing the symbol of the controlling team drop down to fill the space. An empty Gym will be white and silver, but once a team has taken over a Gym, the colors will change to yellow, blue, or red to reflect Team Instinct, Mystic, or Valor respectively.

Restoring And Increasing Pokmon Motivation

To restore or increase Pokémon Motivation Trainer has to feed Pokémon defending friendly Gyms with berries. Increasing the Pokémon’s motivation makes it harder for rival teams to capture the location.

Berries can be given to any Pokémon on Gyms controlled by a Trainer’s team. Any kind of Berry can be given to a Pokémon – Golden Razz Berries, Razz Berries, Nanab Berries, and Pinap Berries. All Berries provide the same increase in motivation, with the exception of the Golden Razz Berry, which fully restores motivation and the Nanab Berry, which increases the motivation by an additional 150%. In addition to keeping the defending Pokémon happy and strong for battle, Stardust and XP can be earned for giving Berries to Pokémon defending Gyms. A Trainer may feed up to ten berries per Pokémon before they are subjected to a cooldown.

Trainers can also remotely feed berries to Pokémon in friendly gyms, as long as they have a Pokémon defending that gym. To do so, the player must select either the corresponding gym badge for that gym or the Pokémon defending the gym , and then select “go to gym”. This will allow the player to feed berries from a remote distance. However, berries fed from a remote distance are much less effective at restoring Pokémon motivation as opposed to feeding them from within the immediate vicinity of the gym the only exception is the Golden Razz Berry, which will completely restore Pokémon motivation, regardless of the distance from which the berry is fed.

How To Power Up A Pokstop Or Gym In Pokmon Go

To power up a PokéStop or Gym in Pokémon Go, you must first be within range of a PokéStop or Gym which has this feature. You’ll be able to identify these particular areas by the power up button in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen and the ring about the Photo Disc.

PokéStops and Gyms are levelled up by contributing scans of the area surrounding the inner ring around the Photo Disc represents how many scans have been collected, while the smaller outer ring represents the levels.

Here are the number of scans which must be completed by any player to level up either a PokéStop or Gym:

  • Level 1 – 5 scans
  • Level 2 – 10 scans in total
  • Level 3 – 25 scans in total

To scan a PokéStop or Gym, you must tap on the power up button and, depending on which kind of stop you’re visiting, select either ‘Scan PokéStop’ or ‘Scan Gym.’ If it’s your first time scanning, you’ll have to review the safety information first.

You will then have to scan the PokéStop or Gym in question.

To do this, you need to select the record button and, keeping the landmark for the spot in frame, scan for roughly 20 to 30 seconds. Ideally, you should walk around the object while keeping both the top and bottom in frame, but you’ll be safe doing so.

With the scan uploaded, your location points will be added to the PokéStop or Gym in question, allowing you to see how many points need to be collected till it levels up.

Is There Any Way To Defend Gyms Longer

Pokemon GO makes gym training a whole lot easier

While there are some small things you can do, such as picking out the best possible defense team and coordinating with other players to keep Pokémon fed, ultimately, Gyms just aren’t set up to be held for long. Sure, anyone can take down any Gym they want. So, the trick becomes making them not want to take down your Gym.

Ideally, you want to work as a team and stack a Gym with the best mix of ultra-tanks and counter-counters as possible. You want to anchor your Gyms with the Pokémon that are the toughest to take down. Some of the best tanks in the game are:

    Do Gyms Do Anything Else

Gyms also host PokéStops. You can click a PokéStop icon when you tap the gym to spin the emblem at the top. You get a reward bonus if the gym matches your team when you spin it, too. Spinning a gym PokéStop also rewards a free raid pass every day .

Gyms also host raids as indicated by a giant egg, and gyms of your color award raid bonuses.

Take Over Gyms As A Team

Assembling a squad of teammates to take over Pokemon Gyms isn’t just as fun as it sounds – it also has immense benefits and will likely be the difference between holding a Gym for a day and potentially holding it for a week. Bringing your own squad of eight teammates will ensure both that the Gym you takeover is immediately at its maximum level and that the Pokemon helping to hold it are all strong enough to pull their weight when it comes under attack.

Try to get as close to eight teammates as possible, and ensure that all of the Pokemon put in the Gym are at least CP 1000 or higher. Keep in mind that the 1000 CP baseline is just a loose guideline – as Pokemon GO players participate in the game more and increase their levels, this will fluctuate and likely need to be higher eventually.

Rewards For Powering Up Pokstops Or Gyms In Pokmon Go

Each PokéStop or Gym which can be powering up in Pokémon Go can reach one of three levels – one, two or three. As the PokéStops or Gyms are levelled up their appearance on the map will change, making them easier to find, and the benefits from spinning the Photo Disc will increase.

The PokéStop or Gym will also only stay powered up for a specific amount of time and, once this time is reached, will be depowered to level 0. This means that, to reach that level again or one higher, you and the other members of your local Pokémon Go community will have to start uploading scans from scratch.

Below you can discover how long each level will last and what rewards you’ll receive when its activated:

HOW TO ADD NEW POKÉSTOPS AND GYMS IN POKÉMON GO

Pokemon Go is a brand new game, but a lot of its pieces were already developed in Niantics previous game, Ingress. All of the Pokestops and Gyms that you see around the map were put there long ago by Ingress payers, who were able to submit requests to Niantic to add something near them as a portal in the game. Now Pokemon Go players can get in on the action, with Niantic opening up Pokestop requests on their website. Were gonna walk you through how to request a Pokestop or Gym near you in Pokemon Go.

To do this simply to go to the official request form on Niantics website. Fill it out and your request will be sent in. Youll need to have the requisite information, with GPS coordinates if possible. Try to snap a good picture of the area, focusing on some sort of landmark that isnt business related. Under Reason be sure to select Pokestop/Gym does not exist.

Once youve made your submission Niantic will review it, though it seems like they arent doing so at this exact moment. Still, getting your request in early should do wonders, as long as it is a legitimate request. They arent going to add a Pokestop or Gym next to your house in Pokemon Go just cause you want it.

And thats it, with any luck a Pokestop or Gym should appear in Pokemon Go whenever Niantic gets the time to review your submission and decide on its merit.

But A Golden Razz Berry Will Fill Up Your Pokmon’s Motivation Completely

Correct. If you manage to get a Golden Razz Berry by defeating a Raid Boss, you can use it to catch a very hard to catch Pokémon, or you can feed it to a Pokémon on a Gym to fully restore its Motivation. While this can be a way to hold onto a Gym currently under attack, it is quite costly and your rivals can stagger their attacks if there are three or more of them, preventing even a Golden Razz from keeping your hold on a Gym.

Nope. Unlike the old system where slots disappeared when Pokémon were kicked off, the new Gyms have six permanent slots. If you could add Pokémon when a Gym was under attack, a small team could always keep it full, and it would never be defeated.

So, when a Gym is under attack, those slots are locked out for upwards of 10 minutes, giving attackers a fair amount of time to win. If they lose interest and go away without winning the Gym, and the time passes, you can add Pokémon again.

Pokemon Go: How To Make Gyms

Pokemon GO is out and players are already visiting their local Gyms in order to try and take control of them in the name of their team. The battle between Mystic, Instinct, and Valor has only just begun.

With players starting to really train their Pokemon up in order to battle them against their rivals, the question has arisen as to whether players can make their own Gyms. While players cant do this instantly, as it would lead to a pretty intense influx of Gyms and upset of the PokeCoin economy, they can submit a request for a new Gym location here. Only businesses can be submitted, but its worth a shot if your area is low on Gyms.

Hopefully you dont live too far away from your local Gym, but in case you cant spot one from where you live, go for a quick walk or car trip around your neighborhood. Niantic has been pretty good at placing Gyms relatively close to most populated areas, even if you live in a small town. Just remember to stay safe and aware while youre out adventuring.
