Best Pokmon To Counter Suicune

Suicune is a Water-type Pokémon. It will be weak to Electric and Grass-type attacks, but it will be resistant to Fire, Ice, Steel, and Water-type moves. This means that Grass-types will be favored, but Electrics will be a good choice as well. Bringing a mix of the two is usually best.

Suicune is pretty tough, but some strong Electric-type Pokémon will be the best option, as they will have to absorb lots of damage from the Raid boss. Here are some options to pick from. Zekrom, Roserade, and Zapdos are all really great PvE options to capture Suicune in Pokémon Go.

Zekrom:

• Dragon and Electric-type Pokémon with powerful moves like Bite and Wild Charge. Hits hardest of any of the three best options for the Raid.
• CP 4,565

Zapdos:

• Electric and Flying-type Pokémon from Kanto, has a ton of defense and some really good counters against Suicune. Use Thundershock as a starter, then move into more powerful moves. Thunderbolt is a good option for later rounds.

How To Catch Shiny Suicune

During its stint as a Raid boss, you’ll have a chance to encounter a Shiny Suicune. Unfortunately, the chances of finding a Shiny variant are very slim, and there’s no guaranteed way to encounter one. You also won’t know if Suicune is Shiny or not until you’ve defeated the Legendary and reached the catching phase, so your best bet for catching a Shiny is to participate in as many Suicune Raids as you can while the Legendary is still available.

Raikou, Entei, and Suicune have been available in Pokemon GO a number of times since they were first added to the game, but now they are back again and you will want to know how to get them during the Pokemon GO Tour Johto event.

The Legendary Beasts trio were first introduced back in Pokemon Gold and Silver and were some of the hardest Pokemon to catch due to their running away mechanic and ability to move around the map.

They are certainly easier to get in Pokemon GO with being in raids and such, but Pokemon GO Tour Johto is adding a few wrinkles into the mix with a Timed Research and wild spawns.

Best Counters For Suicune In Pokemon Go

The ultimate choice to take down Suicune would be Mega Venasaur with Vine Whip and Frenzy Plant, but if thats not an option then trainers will do well with any of the Pokemon listed below.

• Zekrom: This popular Gen 5 Legendary is a powerful choice in most battles, and will take down Suicune easily with Charge Beam and Wild Charge.
• Raikou: Suicunes fellow Legendary beast Raikou is one of the best counters to use here, with the moves Volt Switch and Wild Charge exploiting its Electric weakness.
• Zapdos: Another excellent Legendary counter is Zapdos, one of the OG Pokemon from Gen 1. The moves Thunder Shock and Thunder Bolt will serve you well against Suicune.
• Electivire: The final evolution of Elekid is a solid choice for taking on Suicune. Use the moves Thunder Shock and Wild Charge to deliver some shocking damage.
• Magnezone: Trainers whove managed to evolve their Magneton into a Magnezone are in luck, as it will help greatly when battling Suicune with Spark and Wild Charge.

Dont worry too much if you dont have any of the above Pokemon in your roster. Take your strongest Grass or Electric-types into battle with, and you should have a good shot at winning by exploiting Suicunes weaknesses.

Some more common counters that should still be very effective are Luxray with Spark and Wild Charge Roserade with Razor Leaf and Grass Knot Sceptile with Bullet Seed and Frenze Plant and Tangrowth with Vine Whip and Power Whip.

How To Catch Suicune In Pokemon Go

On the 26th of February, there was a timed research quest available from 9 am till 9 pm, called the Raikou, Entei and Suicune Photo Safari, which was available for all players and did not require the use of a Go Tour: Johto ticket.

In order to catch Suicune, you needed to take a photo of the legendary water dog, which guaranteed you an encounter with it in the future. This event has since been finished, however, But this does not mean that there arent other ways which will give you a Suicune, however.

Suicune will also appear in five-star raids throughout the Johto Tour event. Keep in mind that even remote players will be given the chance to participate in raids now, due to the Remote Raid Passes, which have been received with immense praise from fans and critics alike.

When fighting Suicune in the five-star raid, make sure you have enough people in your party to take on Suicune with you. A raid party of three would usually be enough, but more help never hurt anybody.

Make sure to use Pokemon that have typings strong against Suicune. Pokemon like Electivire and Venusaur can dish out strong super-effective hits to Suicune. You can also use Pokemon that are able to withstand Suicunes strong Water attacks like Dragonite and Tangrowth.

Lastly, Suicune can be found as a wild encounter as well. If the RNG Gods are on your side, you could quite possibly encounter Suicune in the wild!

How To Catch Legendaries In Pokemon Go

The only way to catch a Legendary in Pokemon Go is to first beat one in a 5-Star Raid Battle. These battles take place at Gyms, and youll typically need to team up with at least five other Trainers to win.

Once youve beaten a Legendary, youll be given a limited amount of Premier Balls to try and capture it. Their catch rates are very low, so theres never a guarantee that youll catch a Legendary youve just beaten.

You can increase your chances by landing Excellent Throws and Curve Balls. You can also get more Premier Balls to throw by performing well in the battle or battling in a Gym that matches your teams color.

Yes, all three Legendary Pokémon are spawning in five-star raids, but in order to complete the Raikou, Entei, and Suicune Photo Safari Timed Research, you will need to find each of them in the wild too.

Raikou, Entei, and Suicune will all appear in the wild throughout the event, meaning you can find them randomly at any time on the overworld. They are specifically programmed to be more likely to flee from battle so they are more similar to their counterparts from the Johto region who would flee after one turn or use Roar to end an encounter.

How To Catch Suicune In The Crown Tundra

Fortunately, catching Suicune in the Crown Tundra is pretty much a breeze. The only issue is that it sort of boils down to luck.

When you first arrive in the Crown Tundra, you’ll meet Peony and his daughter, Peonia. Following the storyline brings you to the Max Lair, a brand new area that combines several raids into one cohesive mission. At the end of each Max Lair run, you’ll get a Max Lair boss encounter Suicune has a chance to appear here.

You might have to do several Max Lair runs before you eventually bump into Suicune, but you’ll get your chance eventually. The important thing to remember is that Suicune is a Water-type Pokemon, meaning you’ll ideally want Electric or Grass moves. Because of how Max Lair battles work, you bring one Pokemon in and can change it with the wild Pokemon you encounter along the way. If you’re lucky, you’d get a powerful Electric type just prior to catching Suicune but this isn’t guaranteed.

Your best bet is to teach one of your best Pokemon a wide range of moves. This means you can have an Electric move dedicated as your Suicune killer if necessary. Remember, this is a Dynamax battle, so the goal is to get Suicune’s HP to zero before throwing a Poke Ball at it. Contrary to popular belief, there isn’t a 100% catch rate for fainted Dynamax Pokemon, so I usually use an Ultra Ball just in case.
