Eevee Nicknames For Evolutions
First, you’re going to need to know the Eevee evolution nicknames. To start this journey off right, start with Pokemon number 133, Eevee. This is a Normal type Pokemon that’ll appear pretty much anywhere around the world. Not in the middle of the ocean or the desert, mind you but pretty much anywhere else.
The first three Eevee evolutions are Vaporeon, Jolteon, and Flareon. To evolve into each of these Pokemon, you’ll need only change the name of your Eevee. Change to Rainer for Vaporeon, Sparky for Jolteon, or Pyro for Flareon. This trick will only work ONCE for each of the three first evolutions of Eevee.
The rest are a bit more complicated. Nicknames for the rest of the Eevee evolutions require more than JUST a nickname, but here they are anyway: Espeon is Sakura, Umbreon is Tamao, Leafeon is Linnea, and Glaceon is Rea. Those are, in order, Psychic, Dark, Grass, and Ice types.
Buddy Method For Espeon And Umbreon
- You must have walked at least 10km with the Pokémon as your buddy, and have collected at least 2 candy.
- The Pokémon must be your buddy when you evolve it.
You can then choose between Espeon and Umbreon depending on whether you evolve your Eeveeduring the day or at night.

If you have walked over 10km with Eevee as your buddy, andyou don’t want to get Espeon or Umbreon, make sure that Eevee isn’tyour buddy when evolving it!

How To Evolve Into Espeon And Umbreon
The first time you want to get your hands on Espeon and Umbreon, you can use the name trick detailed above. Evolve an Eeevee called Tamao to get an Umbreon, or an Eevee named Sakura to evolve it into Espeon. After that, you’ll need to evolve them the old-fashioned way, by completing certain goals.
For Espeon and Umbreon, you can also evolve into them based on their in-game method of evolution in Pokemon Gold and Silver back on the Game Boy – based on the time of day. In order to do this, you’ll first need to build a relationship with your Eevee. Set them as your buddy Pokemon and walk with them as much as you can.
Once you’ve walked 10km with that Eevee as your buddy Pokemon, it’s ready to evolve into either Epseon or Umbreon. Just evolve in the day for Espeon and night for Umbreon – and this isn’t limited, you can do it as often as you like!
Evolution Methods For Eevee In Pokmon Go: Stones And Bait Modules
Once the trick no longer works for us, we will have to resort to the conventional method: subjecting Eevee to the exposure of a evolutionary stone O bait modules. Depending on the desired evolution, getting any of the evolutions in Pokémon GO strictly depends on the stone we use and the context in which we do it. Lets take a look at each case individually so you can understand it at a glance.

Pokemon Go Eevee Evolutions And All Name Tricks
One of the most unique Pokemon in the game is Eevee. This cute Pokemon is a bit tricky to evolve into the type you want, but luckily there are a few ways that can temporarily resolve the problem.
The eight evolutions are the following: Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Espeon, Umbreon, Leafeon, Glaceon, and Sylveon. There are different ways to evolve Eevee into one of its evolutions. You can use the nickname trick, by using the Buddy Pokemon evolution method, by completing a specific task, and by using Lure Modules.
Now, lets see how to evolve Eevee into Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Sylveon, Espeon, Umbreon, Leafon, and/or Glaceon in Pokemon Go.
How To Get Sylveon During Community Day
Sylveon is arguably going to be the most popular Eevee evolution this Community Day.
While its power and performance in the meta is one reason, Sylveon has also been made a lot easier to get over the course of the weekend.
Rather than earning the usual 70 hearts with Eevee as a buddy in order to get Sylveon, theyll only need 10% of that, with 7 hearts being enough for Sylveon.
For those who have yet to do it, Kira is the name for Sylveons naming trick.

After Figuring Out The Trick To Get Flareon Jolteon Or Vaporeon It Seems Like Pokemon Go Players Have Already Learned How To Evolve Eevee Into Espeon Or Umbreon
The new update for Pokemon GO has officially landed, bringing with it a bevy of brand new monsters that originally debuted in Pokemon Gold and Silver. While fans that had left the mobile title may find themselves reopening the app in a bid to keep growing their collection of Pokes, two of the most desirable creatures that have joined the game in the wake of the big Johto update are none other than a pair of new evolutions for the beloved Eevee. Of course, these beasts are Espeon and Umbreon.
These particular Psychic and Dark-types, respectively, are some of the most popular Pokemon currently found in the core games, so their arrival in Pokemon GO is understandably an anticipated one. Fortunately, it appears that adding these two to the updated Pokedex isn’t all that challenging especially for those that took advantage of the Eevee naming technique to get Flareon, Jolteon, and Vaporeon.
Without any further ado, let’s begin!
How To Play With And Feed Your Buddy In Pokmon Go
Let’s start with the basics. To play with your Buddy in Pokémon Go, make sure you’re first Trainer Level 2 and have a Buddy assigned, then tap the Buddy icon in the lower left corner of the screen, next to your Trainer Profile.
Next, press the Play! button. Your phone camera will then activate. If you are in AR mode, you must find a flat surface. Point towards it until yellow footprints appear, then tap.
If it then says you are too close to your Buddy, back away a step or two, and it should appear.
If you’re struggling, remember you can disable AR mode in the Settings, so the Pokémon will simply appear on the screen.
With the Pokémon visible, you can play by rubbing it. You can also feed it by tapping the Berry icon.
Unlike during the catch phase where berries are simply tapped, on the Buddy screen they must be thrown like a Poké Ball to your Buddy’s mouth. You don’t lose your Berry if you miss however, so keep trying!
Once they are fully fed, they will join you on an Adventure, where they can start earning Hearts for that day…

How To Evolve Eevee Into Sylveon In Pokemon Go
Pokemon Go currently has Pokemon from several generations… and the most recent Eevee Evolution added to the game is Sylveon, a Pokemon added in generation 6. In the main Pokemon games, Sylveon evolves based off your Affection and Friendship stats, which maps to the Pokemon Buddy Feature that Pokemon Go has.
First of all, the nickname trick continues to work with Sylveon. To get it first, take an Eevee and rename it to Kira – then evolve it. The first time you do this, you’ll get a Sylveon. After this, however, you’ll have to evolve into Sylveon in the traditional way, as this is a one-time trick per eeveelution.
For further chances to evolve Eevee to Sylveon, you’ll need to get 70 Buddy Hearts with an Eevee – which puts your relationship with that Pokemon at the ‘Great Buddy’ level. After this, you simply need to evolve that Eevee with 25 Eevee candy, and you’ll get the fairy-type Sylveon in return.
All of these work with the Flower Crown Eevee or Shiny Eevee – so you can use these tricks to get yourself a Shiny Sylveon or a Flower Crown Sylveon.
How To Evolve Eevee Into Leafeon And Glaceon
Leafeon and Glaceon are a little easier to plan for when trying to evolve an Eevee, as they require specific items and locations in order to get them.
First you’ll need a special type of Lure from the Shop–either a Mossy Lure or a Glacial Lure –which cost 200 Pokecoins each. Next, head to a nearby PokeStop and activate the lure corresponding to the Eeveelution you’re looking for, Mossy for Leafeon or Glacial for Glaceon. Finally, use 25 Eevee Candies to evolve the Eevee into the form of choice.
Once again there’s a nickname for each form that can bypass these requirements, but as before the nicknames only work one time. If you need a quick Leafeon or Glaceon and can’t get to a PokeStop, here’s the names to use:
- Leafeon – “Linnea”
- Glaceon – “Rea”

Pokemon Go Eevee Evolution Nicknames
The first, and easiest, way to evolve Eevee into its evolutions is whats known as the nickname trick. Trainers can guarantee any of Eevees evolutions in Pokemon Go once each using this Eevee nickname method.
Simply nicknaming your Eevee one of the special names will grant trainers the Eeveelution of their choice. Use 25 Eevee candy and your Eevee will evolve to the evolution with the corresponding nickname.
- Vaporeon: Rainer
- Glaceon: Rea
- Sylveon: Kira
Choose carefully trainers because once this trick is done once for each species, you wont be able to do it again.
How To Evolve Eevee Into Vaporeon Jolteon And Flareon
First, you’ll need to obtain 25 Eevee Candies by catching Eevees and sending them to Professor Willow. Once you have them, using the 25 candies will turn your Eevee into one of the three original evolutions.
However, there is a trick that can guarantee which Eeveelution you’ll receive, though it only works once for each form. By changing Eevee’s name to a particular nickname, you can choose which Eeveelution you’ll receive. The names are as follows:
- Vaporeon – “Rainer”
- Flareon – “Pyro”

Go Beyond Level 40 With Eeveelutions
With the recently announced increase in the level cap, reaching the top levels in Pokémon Go now requires completing Special Level-Up Research. For level 42, Trainers need to evolve one of each of Eevee’s unique evolutions. This task isn’t retroactive either, so you will need to evolve all seven again, even if you have them already. Fortunately, most veteran trainers have tons of Eevee Candy, so even the random chance of Vaporeon, Flareon, and Jolteon shouldn’t been too hard on your existing stash of candies.
The Main Way To Get Umbreon
If youre looking for another Umbreon after using the naming trick already, you only really have one or two options left.
The first of which is to set Eevee as your buddy and walk 10 kilometres then try to evolve Eevee during the night. Doing so should give a picture of Umbreon in the evolution button, showing its been done so correctly.
Luckily this method works as much as you need it to and can be repeated infinitely, though the 10 kilometre requirement does slow down mass-producing a particular type of Eevee.
Be aware that this works off the in-game system so check whether its dark or light in-game first, otherwise, you might end up with an evolved Eevee that wasnt what you were looking for.

Alternative Eevee Evolution Methods For Leafeon Glaceon Umbreon And Espeon
Gen 4 Leafeon and Glaceon have a second evolution method, using the Mossy Bait Module or the Glacial Bait Module, respectively. When you are near that PokéStop with the Bait Module activated, go to your Eevee and choose the evolution.
On the other hand, Gen 2 Umbreon and Espeon also have a second evolution method. Walk with your Eevee as a companion for ten kilometers and make it evolve overnight or day and it will transform into the desired evolution.
Note that you have to walk exactly 10 kilometers and get two Candies in the process, and then keep Eevee as a companion when it evolves and make it day or night in the game for it to work .

Pokemon Go Eeveelutions: How To Evolve Eevee Into Umbreon Or Espeon
For the Gen 2 pair, its all about walking and time of day. Set Eevee as your buddy and walk 10km, then evolve it during the daytime for Espeon, or during the night time for Umbreon.
Unfortunately, there is no specific method to get Flareon, Jolteon, or Vaporeon. These evolutions are random so you just need to ensure you have enough candy and evolve as many Eevees as needed till you get the one youre after. Since there are only three possibilities each time, it shouldnt take too long.

With so many classic Eevee evolutions to choose from – alongside the newer additions – you want to make sure that you get your favorite, so let’s talk about how to evolve Eevee in Pokemon Go.
For our money, Eevee is one of the coolest Pokemon. It’s one of the cutest of the original Red/Blue/Green generation of Pokemon games, yes, and it’s just been promoted to starter status for Pokemon Let’s Go – but the coolest thing about Eevee is how it evolves. Eevee can evolve into more different Pokemon than any other species discovered so far – and of course that carries over to Pokemon Go.
From the newest Eeveelution, Fairy-type Sylveon, to the original elemental three, Jolteon, Flareon and Vaporeon, there are guaranteed ways to get each and every evolution – here’s what to do.
What Time Is Considered Day/night To Evolve Espeon/umbreon
Day and night are based your local time. But they can be determined by looking at the environment and sky in-game. If its day in-game, you can evolve in to an Espeon. If its night in-game, you can evolve in to an Umbreon. Another way to check is to look at the silhouette on the evolve button to see which evolution the game will give you.
