How To Transfer Pokemon From Generation 3 To Generation 4

With generation 1 and 2 out of the way, the first generation of games where Game Freak’s commitment to Pokemon transfer comes through is making the jump from generation 3 to generation 4. You can transfer Pokemon from any generation 3 game, including Colosseum or XD, but the Pokemon will need to be on a Gameboy Advance cartridge, so you’ll need to trade any Orre Pokemon over to Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, FireRed, or LeafGreen using a Gamecube or Wii, Gameboy Advance, and Gamecube linking cable.

Furthermore, a Pokemon that knows an HM move cannot be transferred, so some visits to the move deleter might be necessary to get your Pokemon ready to go. You’ll also need to make sure the Pokemon you’re transferring are in boxes in the PC, and not in your party. Once you have the Pokemon you want to transfer all ready to go on a GBA cartridge, either by trading from Orre or simply catching them in a Hoenn or Kanto game, you’ll need to get things ready on the generation 4 end of things.

To unlock the Pal Park in the Sinnoh games, you need to have not only beaten the Pokemon League in Diamond, Pearl, or Platinum, but have unlocked the National Dex, which requires seeing every Pokemon in the region. This can be done with relative ease by fighting every trainer, which will leave you with only a few legendaries and special Pokemon like Rotom to track down. It’s a bit easier in HeartGold and SoulSilver, however – you simply need to have visited Fuchsia City.

I need to transfer some Pokemon from Soul Silver to Sun. However I dont have Black or another DS/3DS to trade to. I was suggested to try out PKHEX and PKSM but PKHEX only works on emulator based saves from what Ive understood and I havent been able to do more than try some event injections through PKSM onto my Soul Silver cart that have remained unsuccessful I guess. Is there any other way or any other software that I should use or am I missing something important here?

without external editors, you would need to find a copy of b/w/b2/w2 and use the poke transfer in that game ds, after completing the storyline). Then you would need to use the poke transporter and get a pokemon bank subscription . I had to do this for my pokemon from heart gold, but I had to have my friend help me with their copy of pokemon white 2.

Just backed up saves and transferred SoulSilver Pokemon to my Sun. Theyre also tradeable! Thanks for the help !

How Do You Transfer Pokemon From The Game Boy Advance Games To Pokemon Home

To transfer Pokemon to Pokemon Home from the Game Boy Advance games, youll need to start the process with a Nintendo DS or DS Lite. Youll need to insert your GBA game in the correct slot and then launch one of the fourth-gen Pokemon games on the DS.

Youll need to meet the following requirements in the fourth-gen games to transfer Pokemon GBA to DS:

It appears that Nintendo might be slowly moving away from supporting its older platforms.

Nintendo appears to be moving on from supporting its previous generation of consoles, announcing that certain features would be discontinued for both the Wii U and 3DS systems in January 2022.

This news came from one of Nintendos official Japanese support accounts, which notified users that the Wii U and 3DS would cease accepting credit cards and certain other electronic methods for transferring funds to the eShop.

3DSWii Ue

According to Nintendos support notice, these services will be terminated on Jan. 18, 2022. After that point, no credit cards or similar methods will be available to add funds to your Nintendo Network ID on 3DS or Wii U. In no way does this mean that Nintendo is actively working to take down the eShops on its older platforms immediately, however.

Also included in the notice, Nintendos support team included the following ways users can still transfer money to their NNID accounts on the two older systems.

  • Utilize a prepaid Nintendo eShop card
  • Codes will still be redeemable on both 3DS and Wii U
  • Link your NNID with your overall Nintendo account
  • This will allow you to purchase software using your existing balance, credit card, PayPal, and prepaid Nintendo eShop cards
  • Link your NNID with your Nintendo account that is connected to a Nintendo Switch

  • Make sure that transfer box is empty before you repeat the process, to avoid any unwanted complications!
  • Use the Pokémon Bank to transfer these Pokémon into Pokémon Home
  • So what if you wanted to go back even further?

Don’t Miss: What Games Are Compatible With Pokemon Bank

    Pokemon Bank’s Free Offerings

As Pokemon Bank was designed to help players move Pokemon from DS games to the 3DS, the service gave users a box of free storage to help with the heavy load. Fans could also transfer Pocket Monsters from games like the original Diamond and Pearl to more recent entries like X and Y without paying for the premium plan Bank offered. This meant that for many fans, taking their Pokemon partners with them to the newer regions was painless.

Those who needed more space could pay for the premium features for only $5 a year, allowing them to hold up to 3,000 monsters in Pokemon Bank with no issue. It was a small price to pay to hold that many critters across the eight 3DS titles available. Fans didn’t have to worry, as if there was ever a situation where players couldn’t pay the yearly fee, they could leave their creatures in the Cloud service’s boxes and they would remain there safely. They would be unavailable to move, but they wouldn’t be deleted or lost.

Is A Nintendo Account Required To Use Pokmon Home

A Nintendo Account is not required for the smart device app, but it is highly recommended that you create or link a Nintendo Account the first time you connect to Pokémon HOME on a smart device. With a linked Nintendo Account, you will be able to view battle data and access your Pokémon and any Premium Plan features on a linked Nintendo Switch version of Pokémon HOME as well.

How To Transfer Gen 3 4 And 5 To Pokemon Bank

This video explains how to use Pokemon Bank and the Poke Transporter, which is needed to get Pokemon from even older games into Bank, and subsequently, into Pokemon HOME.

The following sections provide instructions on how to move old Pokemon to Pokemon Bank. Scroll down to see the text, or reference this graphic below.

    Pokemon Home’s Paid Transfer

Unlike Pokemon Bank’s user-friendly options to assist players in the move from Generation 5 to Generation 6, Pokemon Home has much less to offer. It may use the same free box system as its predecessor, but the most tricky thing about the service is that transferring from the 3DS games to Home isn’t free. Fans need to pay in order to bring the monsters kept in Pokemon Bank to the next generation, which has made plenty of loyal players shell out.

Over the next year and beyond, many fans will be rushing between titles to transfer their favorite long-term partners and complete full National Pokedex sets before they potentially lose them forever. The way Pokemon Home operates makes the process into a bottleneck, as the lack of being able to transfer Pocket Monsters over without paying will lead to some fans being unable or willing to move their treasured creatures.

Thankfully, there are workarounds for fans who don’t want to pay the $15 yearly fee with Pokemon Home. The cheapest premium plan the service offers is only $3 for one month of service. For those who want to make sure their favorite Pokemon make it to the next set of games, they can pay for the one month of service, transfer their creatures, and then cancel the subscription when it runs out. The creatures deposited will remain in Pokemon Home safely, just with a tag saying they’re inaccessible until the player pays for another month.

Pokemon Home is available now on Nintendo Switch.
