Pve Offensive Moves Explanation

How to find Lapras in Pokemon Crystal
  • Frost Breath and Ice Shard are both great go-to Ice-type options for offense.

  • Water Gun should be paired with Hydro Pump, but is undesired, as Laprass niche is in its STAB Ice-type moves.

  • Blizzard is on par with Ice Beam the choice is down to personal preference.

  • Hydro Pump performs similarly to Surf, akin to the above Ice-type charge moves.

  • Dragon Pulse and Skull Bash are clearly the worst options due to lack of STAB and meaningful coverage.

What About Dragon Pulse

Dragon Pulse was made a legacy move starting February 21, 2017, and now available through Elite TMs. Demanding 60 energy to use, it’s slightly slower than Ice Beam, but does offer the perk of neutral damage against opponents that would resist Water or Ice-type attacks . It’s also handy in the Lapras mirror match, and easier to get to than Skull Bash, but does not offer a DEF self-buff.

Where To Find Lapras In Sword & Shield

Lapras has always been a rare spawn in bodies of water, and that tradition continues in Galar. Only now the Wild Area gives Lapras the ability to appear in the overworld, neck sticking out of a lake like a true nessie.

Trainers can find such a sight at Route 2, Route 9, Lake of Outrage, and North Lake Miloch. They’re most often encountered while “surfing” on a body of water, and like rain, snow, and fog.

If it’s Gigantamax Lapras you’re looking for, then only Shield players have access. They can find it at Giant’s Seat. Sword players will have to wait for a special event to find G-man Lapras raids.

The Best Pokmon To Counter Lapras

Image

The best Pokémon to counter Lapras will be Magnezone, Lucario, and Raikou.

Magnezone is an Electric and Steel-type Pokémon. It possesses a robust defense and equally powerful offensive capabilities as an Electric-type. As a result, its an ideal choice to use against Lapras, especially in a raid. The best moveset it can use during the raid is the fast move spark and the charged moves wild charge and zap cannon.

Next, were going to recommend Lucario, a Fighting and Steel-type Pokémon. Like Magnezone, Lucario has a high defense and a heavy attack as a Fighting-type Pokémon. The best moveset it can use during a raid is the fast move counter and the charged moves aura sphere and close combat.

The final Pokémon were going to recommend is the legendary Electric-type, Raikou. While it might not have the highest defense stat compared to Lucario and Magnezone, Raikous high attack power makes it an ideal glass cannon to use for every raid, and its a viable choice to use against Lapras in PvP. The best moveset to give Raikou is the fast move thunder shock and the charged moves wild charge and thunderbolt.

Youre going to need a full team of six Pokémon to use against Lapras. Were going to recommend these Pokémon to fill up the rest of your team.

Pokemon Go: How To Catch Lapras

It is a sturdy Pokemon and has extremely high stamina

When we first saw Lapras, I know we all fell in love with the majestic Pokemon. In the early Pokemon games, we were only allowed to have a single Lapras, and that too with a trade.

Inspired by the Loch Ness monster, the Pokemon has become quite common these days and can be found in the wild. As such, its better to have quite a good strategy to catch the Pokemon.

So, heres how to beat Lapras in Pokémon GO.

It is a dual Water/Ice-type, which means, in a rare instance, that its weaknesses outweigh its resistances.

It has affinities to the following:

    • Weaknesses: Fighting, Rock, Electric, Grass
    • Resistances: Water, Ice

Lapras has a lot of weakness which is a rare case, however, it has a natural defense: half of the types its weak against are themselves weak to moves Lapras knows.

Like, grass types are weak against Ice moves, and Rock types are weak against Water moves. So, if you fight Lapras with Rock or Grass types, you will fail miserably.

A Defensive Pokemon Effective Against Special Attackers

With Lapras’ high Base HP and Special Defense, simply by placing a few EVs in HP, it can withstand most of the super-effective secondary moves used to handle Pokemon of its types. As its Attack and Special Attack are also nothing to scoff at, it can both bear the brunt of enemy attacks while dishing out its own.

    Pve Defensive Moves Explanation

    • Ice Shard edges out Frost Breath with respect to defensive DPS and energy gain.

    • Water Gun suffers from rock-bottom base power.

    • Hydro Pump is both powerful and difficult to react to, and Lapras has the bulk to use it.

    • Blizzard has the same high base power as Hydro Pump, but its easier to dodge.

    • Surf and Ice Beam have similar damage windows, but Ice Beam is much stronger.

    • Dragon Pulse and Skull Bash are underwhelming due lack of STAB and late damage windows.

What Is The Biggest Weakness Of Lapras In Pokemon Go

This one is more debatable than most. Electric and Fighting-Types will offer you the easiest overall Type most of the time. Grass-Types theoretically can outperform them due to resisting Water-Type attacks, but suffer heavily at the hands of Ice-Type ones as well, negating their advantage.

Meanwhile, Rock-Types just kinda struggle here with no qualities to redeem them above the others.

    Best Moveset For Lapras

How to find Lapras in Pokemon Gold and Silver
    Ice BeamHidden Power Fire

This moveset emphasizes Lapras ability to use Water and Ice-type moves, quickly dealing with opponents who are weak to these moves. Should you feel up for it, add Choice Specs to have a move deal extra damage, however, that extra damage comes at the cost of Lapras only being able to use that move for the whole duration of the battle, so choose wisely.

    Freeze Dry
    Ice BeamSurf

This moveset is similar to the one mentioned above, the only difference being Surf replaced Hidden Power fire. This gives Lapras an even mix of both Ice and Water-based moves, which can also cause status effects on your opponents. In team battles, Choice specs are a good idea, as your Lapras can focus on freezing and handling opponent damage, while your other Pokemon deals out damage.

‘pokmon Go’ Lapras Raid Day: Start Time Shiny Lapras And Best Counters

Pokémon Go players are in the midst of the mobile game’s annual Raid Week, which brings some of the more powerful and rare Pokémon to Raids.

This is a great opportunity to catch the likes of Metagross and Tyranitar without having to collect enough candy to evolve their pre-evolved forms. However, one of the biggest draws of Pokémon Go ‘s Raid Week this year is the Lapras Raid Day.

For a few hours this weekend, Pokémon Go trainers will have the opportunity to battle and catch as many Lapras as they can find in Raids. This make it easy to catch one of these rare creatures, and its Shiny form will also be available.

If you’re looking to make the most out of Lapras Raid Day, here’s all the essential information you’ll need including the start time and the best Pokémon to go into battle with.

LAPRAS RAID DAY START AND END TIME

Lapras Raid Day starts Saturday, May 25 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. local time. If you’re in the Americas, Greenland, Europe, the Middle East, Africa or India.

If you’re playing Pokémon Go in the Asia-Pacific countries, the Lapras Raid Day starts Sunday, May 26 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. local time .

    HOW TO GET SHINY LAPRAS

During the three-hour event window, Pokémon Go trainers will see every Gym occupied by Lapras. This gives trainers the maximum amount of opportunities to fight and catch them.

Shiny Lapras changes from its light blue coloring to a deep purple.

    BEST LAPRAS RAID COUNTERS

Here are the best Pokémon to go up against Lapras:

    Lapras Raid Counters Guide

Lapras is Tier 3 Raid Boss in Pokémon GO, with a Boss CP of 23476. It is weak to Electric, Rock, Fighting and Grass, but depending on what moves Lapras has, it can do some serious damage to some of those counters.

Lapras can be caught in the following CP ranges:

    • 1435 1509 CP
    • 1794 1886 CP

Lapras is soloable, but only with top, high level counters, so keep this in mind! It is a very tanky defender, so groups of 2-4 are recommended depending on player levels and available counters.

    • Dragon Pulse* Dragon

*denotes legacy move only obtainable via Elite TM.

With a variety of Ice and Water type moves, Lapras can be tricky to counter. When going into the raid, have a look what your recommended Pokémon are before you pick your team. If it is suggesting Rock types it is probably safe to assume it doesnt have Water type moves. If no Grass types are appearing, it more than likely comes armed with Ice type moves that will make quick work of your Grass types.

The best attackers to fight Lapras that are not weak to any of its moves, are strong Fighting types like Machamp and Lucario, or electric type attackers with great DPS output such as Raikou, Magnezone, Electivire, and Zapdos.

Other potential options include Heracross, Poliwrath with double fighting type moves and Lanturn with double electric type attacks, but they are way below in terms of viability with respect to the three mentioned at the beginning.

How Did We Find The Most Reliable Counter To Lapras

As is typical in any Pokemon title, including Go, precisely how strong a Pokemon is and what moves it uses may vary depending on the individual, but there are a few things we can use as a weakness that remains consistent across all of any given species of Pokemon.

The easiest of these to exploit for counter purposes is often the Pokemons Type.

Lapras, a classic Pokemon from way back in generation I, is a Water/Ice Dual-Type. This combination may actually not be the best for battle though, as while Lapras design may look amazing, it has only two resistances and 4 separate weaknesses to deal with.

Lapras Type interactions in Pokemon Go

    Resistances
    • Water
    • Ice

Water attacks will deal 62.5% damage against Lapras, while Ice will struggle twice as much dealing only 39% damage.

    Weaknesses
    • Dragon Pulse
    • Ice Beam

While Rock-Types are a counter, they are weak to the various Water-Type moves Lapras has, making them a poor overall choice. Grass-Types will resist water but struggle with Ice attacks, another unfortunate option.

Electric-Types and Fighting-Type will deal good damage without the additional risk, which is perhaps the best we can hope for here.
