Do I Need The Latest Pokmon Game To Play
A. No, you do not need to buy the latest Pokémon title unless you want access to specific multiplayer functions. There are older Pokémon games that are masterpieces of gaming and worth a playthrough even though they are not among the latest releases. Still, if you like a challenge, perhaps a Nuzlocke playthrough of an old Pokémon game would be fun.;

Pokemon Season 1: Pokemon The Series Xy
With such a big change in style in Season 14, not many fans were expecting another change when Ash moved to the Kalos region. Pokemon the Series XY really upped the ante with not only new character models but an entirely new way for presenting Gym Battles with new computer-generated imagery and sound effects. The animation in this season took another leap forward in quality but unlike previous seasons which normally start off with impressive animation and quickly lower to average after a few episodes, the animation quality in XY maintains a high standard throughout. The plotting and overall storylines are pretty good too!
Pokemon: The Johto Journeys
While technically a part of the original Indigo League series, The Johto Journeys combines the nostalgia of the original series with a smarter and more mature Ash. Ash actually won most of his gym battles in Johto, was a whole lot less annoying, and even stopped permanently releasing Pokemon in favor of letting them train separately for extended periods of time. More often than not, Ash also got along with Misty and Brock, so the Johto episodes had much less bickering than the Kanto series.
The Johto Journeys also marked the end of Ash’s rivalry with Gary, his Pallet Town neighbor and childhood friend. Ash used his Charizard to take down three of Gary’s Pokemon to finally triumph over his heated rival. The pair later rekindled their friendship and even became occasional allies moving forward.

Pokemon Gold Silver And Crystal
Nestled between the series’ humble beginnings and a feeling of deja vu that set in for many of its sequels, Pokemon Gold and Silver were the sophomore effort that hit the sweet spot for many fans. Released on the Game Boy Color, these sequels brought back all of the original Pokemon from Red and Blue with new enhanced looks, while adding another 100 new pocket monsters to collect. Like Red and Blue, it was heavily reliant on a trading mechanic, with Gold and Silver offering slightly different collections to encourage eager trainers to engage with their community and friends.
But far from a simple retread, Pokemon Gold and Silver introduced almost as many new mechanics and features to the series as the original. Those included a day-night cycle and weekly calendar, so certain Pokemon would only appear at certain times of day or on specific days of the week. Pokemon gained the ability to hold items that would restore health or improve passive stats. Gold and Silver introduced new “Shiny” Pokemon, extremely rare variants with special coloring and enhanced stats. They also added not one but two new pokemon types: Steel and Dark, to counter Poison and Psychic Pokemon, respectively. And they introduced Pokemon breeding, which let players pair their favorite monsters to produce a new egg that would hatch into a Pokemon that inherited stat bonuses from its parents.

Goodbyeand Then Setting Off 83
Departures and goodbyes are never easy. Whether it’s the real world or anime, no person truly likes parting company with their friends, even temporarily. So, it’s no surprise that both the trainers and audience watching on would find this a somewhat somber episode. Despite this, the episode tries its best to play the goodbye off in the lightest manner possible. This fits the theme of looking forward to the future that the series has been pushing since its inception. This means that, even when the group splits up, it’s clear that each member will be fine while continuing to chase their dreams.
Pokmon White/black And White/black 2
Starter Pokémon: Snivy, Tepig, Oshawott
Generation five was an oddity. It was the first in the series to get a direct sequel, with Black 2 and White 2 releasing a year after the originals. The sequels did retread familiar territory, but told a new story and featured some new areas and new Pokémon. Generation five also holds the record for the most Pokémon, with 156 new Pokémon to catch.
Even more so than Diamond and Pearl, though, gen five, especially the sequels, felt like a stopgap for the series next evolution. While we regard generation five as the worst, we still think its pretty darn good. It didnt introduce much new at all, but the true sequel concept was intriguing nonetheless.

Best Pokemon Games Ranked From Worst To Best
One of the most popular game series of all time, Pokemon has become a global phenomenon. But which games are the very best, like no game ever was?
Pokemon almost immediately took the world by storm. The multimedia juggernaut has become known for a wealth of anime cartoons, blockbuster movies, toys, a trading card game, clothing, collectibles, and of course, video games. That’s not bad for a humble little Japanese RPG about catching wild creatures. The core of Pokemon has always been the main RPG series, which has attracted a passionate fanbase and even spawned a vibrant tournament scene. Those RPGs have each added new elements and features to the long-running franchise, but some were certainly more influential than others. We took a hard look at every mainline Pokemon game and determined which ones are just a cut above. Here are all of the best Pokemon games, ranked from not very effective to super effective.

Pokemon Xy: The Series
Although it’s the most recent, Pokemon XY is easily the best series of the Pokemon animes to date. Ash joins Serena, Clemont, and Bonnie in the Kalos region and assembles his strongest team of Pokemon to date. Not only does Ash finally add a quasi-Legendary Pokemon to his squad, he also befriends a Greninja that can “synchro-evolve” into an even more powerful form that rivals Mega Evolution.
In XY, Ash is depicted as a veteran trainer, able to think on his feet and win most of his battles easily. Although he still prefers an “out of the box” style of battling, Ash scouts his opponents and even occasionally pays attention to battling style.
It also helps that Ash’s traveling companions are just as fun and interesting as Ash. Serena is the best female companion since Misty, and is the first companion to have an established crush on Ash . Clemont takes on the nuturing Brock role, while also adding plenty of humor with his failed scientific inventions.
All in all, XY stands head and shoulders above the other Pokemon series. It’s fun for both kids and adults and will keep longtime fans of the Pokemon series while not pandering too much on nostalgia.
Season 1 Episode 36 Pikachu’s Goodbye
Ash has always put the well-being of his Pokémon first and valued their feelings about his own — something that this episode makes abundantly clear. When Ash and the group come across a bunch of wild Pikachu who quickly accept Ash’s as one of their own, Ash prepares to say goodbye, believing it to be in Pikachu’s best interests to be with his own kind — but Pikachu won’t let;that;slide, and refuses to leave his side.

Lost Pokemon Hitokage 84
A fundamental part of the Pokeverse is the bond between a pokemon and its trainer. When one catches and trains a pokemon, an intimate bond is created between that Pokemon;and its;trainer. This often leads to a bond of loyalty and friendship being formed. In this episode, we meet a Charmander who’s been abandoned by its trainer but, still, it stays and waits, hoping the trainer will return one day. Unfortunately, this trainer had no intention of returning and when Ash and his gang realize this, they try to rescue this pokemon before it dies. It’s a good thing they did as this same Charmander rescued them when Team Rocket tried to steal Pikachu. After seeing the love that Ash had for it, the Charmander decided to leave his trainer and join Ash. This again highlights Ash’s strength as a trainer and a pokemon loyalty.

Pokemon Season : Adventures In The Orange Islands
The Pokemon Company
A lot of Pokemon fans dislike Adventures in the Orange Islands with a passion but I like it so much that it’s actually my sixth favorite season!
The season’s strength is in its originality and willingness to be different from the previous story arcs. Adventures in the Orange Islands stands apart from a lot of the other seasons by not really being set in a region. It’s set in an area called The Orange Islands. It provides a great change of scenery and storyline with Ash not training for a Pokemon League but instead being on a serious mission for Professor Oak with Misty to deliver a mysterious Poke Ball to him.
Unlike most of the other seasons, the Orange Islands arc stands completely on its own, thus is a lot easier to rewatch as opposed to the Johto and Sinnoh arcs which span several seasons.

Pokmon Sword And Shield
Starter Pokémon: Grookey, Scorbunny, Sobble
The latest Pokémon games are the first mainline titles released as a Nintendo Switch game, and Game Freak has finally realized our longtime dream of having a fully 3D Pokémon adventure on a home console. In the British-themed Galar region, you can venture into the new Wild area and capture monsters, or follow the set pathways from town to town that have been in the series since the very beginning. Either way, Pokémon are now just out and about instead of being hidden in randomized encounters, so frustration is greatly reduced.
With 400 Pokémon to catch and the addition of the Dynamax system to power up your monsters, Pokémon Sword and Shield can keep you busy for hours. However, the removal of longtime monsters from the game, including Psyduck and Squirtle, does mean you cant catch em all this time. Fortunately, with the arrival of the games Isle of Armor;DLC; and Crown Tundra DLC, youll have a chance to see new environments in the Galar region, catch new Pokémon, and battle new foes.

Pokemon Season : Advanced Challenge
Continuing their journey in the Hoenn region, Ash, May, Max, and Brock had a few adventures in Advanced Challenge but none of which really stood out as that memorable. None, except for the classic two-parter that saw the return of Misty and Togepi; The Princess and the Togepi and A Togepi Mirage. While these two episodes were truly epic, they still couldn’t boost the season higher than number 10.
Kalos Where Dreams And Adventures Begin
The first episode of the 17th season kicked off what is arguably one of the best seasons of Pokémon. Sixteen seasons later, Team Rocket;is still trying to steal Pikachu from Ash to please their boss. Pokémon is a unique show that rarely seems to disappoint. The formula for each episode is mostly the same. Team Rocket intervenes, there is a Pokémon battle, and Team Rocket always blasts off again.
This episode set in the Kalos region introduces characters like Clemont and Bonnie and reveals a new Pokémon mystery.
Don’t Miss: Pokemon Insurgence Science Club
Showdown In Pewter City
As the first episode in the series that contained a gym battle, it was quite exciting to see Ash combat a gym trainer for the first time. Fighting the colossal Pokémon Onyx gave viewers an impression of what Pokémon;could look like. In this case, Gym Trainer Brock’s most powerful Pokémon was the largest one.
This may have confused some viewers since size usually doesn’t correlate with a Pokémon’s power. Still, for containing the first gym battle, “Showdown In Pewter City” stands out.
Season 18 Episode 12 A Showcase Debut
In the anime-original competition, viewers had no idea what to expect from Serena’s first attempt to earn a Princess Key, but no one expected what happened. With Fennekin tripping on its overly long ribbon, Serena hits the first major hurdle in her journey, having finally found a path she wants to pursue — only to fail spectacularly on her first outing. The episode ends with Serena collapsing in tears with her Pokémon before deciding to get back up and try again, this time putting;everything she has into it. In perhaps the most dramatic haircutting scene ever, she returns to the group a changed and bolder girl.

PokémonRuby and PokémonSapphire marked the debut of the third generation of Pokémon games. The objectives were pretty similar in terms of catching the Pokémon while players were also assigned missions to take down a criminal organization and the ‘Elite Four’ Pokémon trainers.
Another difference that the Game Boy Advance games presented was that instead of two players, four players could be connected to each other. Both versions drew rave reviews and even spawned two remakes -;PokémonOmega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.
