What Are The Most Valuable Pokmon Cards

HOW TO EASILY SELL YOUR BULK POKEMON CARDS!

The rarity and condition of a card will determine how much money you get from it. Cards in mint condition will fetch the most.

According to Heritage Auctions, cards with these features are particularly rare and/or valuable:

  • 1st Edition mark: The hallmark is on the center left side of the Pokémon Card. 1 editions cards are the rarest and most valuable among the standard Pokémon cards.
  • Shadowless: Cards that dont have a shadow also sell for a premium.
  • Error: Cards that have misprints and errors also sell for a substantial premium.

Here are some examples of some of the most expensive Pokémon cards ever sold:

Like I said above, you can use the handy tool from Card Mavin to determine the value of your Pokémon cards.

Mischievous Pichu Is The Pokmon Tcgs Best

The Mischievous Pichu Promo card was created as part of a collaboration between the Pokémon Trading Card Game, the video creator Hajime Syacho, and the Japanese fashion brand Graniph known as P-Lab. Customers who purchased P-Lab. items, many of which feature the Mischievous Pichu art, would also receive the Mischievous Pichu Promo card as an extra gift. This gives the card extra value, since it can only be found by purchasing P-Lab. products rather than through booster packs like most cards. While promotional cards often become widely sought after for this reason alone, Mischievous Pichu has gone above and beyond to become the most desired card in Japan unlike other prized Pokémon cards that ended up being worthless.

Ironically, despite being such a big seller, Mischievous Pichu is actually somewhat terrible in competitive play. It only has one attack that is as likely to damage the user as it is the opponent. However, competitive viability is not the point of Mischievous Pichu. Much like Yu-Gi-Oh! cards that came packaged with video games, the scarcity caused by its limited run is a source of its popularity. The fun card art also plays a significant role, as does the fact that it is tied to some rather significant names. These traits make the Mischievous Pichu Promo an excellent collectible for Pichu fans as well as Pokémon card collectors, even with Pokémon cards likely to lose value soon.

Are Japanese Pokmon Cards Rare

Japanese cards in general arent necessarily rarer. Sure, theyre harder to get hold of outside of Japan, so you may not see as many of them, but as with any other language of Pokémon card, theyre still broken down into different levels of rarity.

A Japanese Pidgey card isnt rarer just because its Japanese, for example. There are certain cards that are much rarer in their Japanese form than elsewhere. This could be for a number of reasons.

  • Generally the Japanese cards are rarer when: They have only been released in Japan and wont be released elsewhere

  • They have only been released in Japan and wont be released in other countries for a while yet

  • They are cards from a promotional event only in Japan. This may mean they are incredibly common in Japan, but just wont ever turn up in a pack elsewhere. While some are fairly common, like ones that come with a magazine, clothes, like the Pikachu Illustrator card or the Magikarp Tamamushi University Promo Card, are incredibly rare.

  • Whether a card is playable or unplayable playable cards may be harder to get your hands on

Are Japanese Pokemon Cards Valuable/worth More

As a Pokémon fan, you may be wondering whether the Japanese cards are worth more money than other types of Pokémon cards. Pokémon trading cards are a fun way to engage with the Pokémon universe, and they have become widely available across the world.

While Japanese Pokémon are considered to be the highest-quality Pokémon cards, they are not significantly worth more. The main thing that determines a Pokémon cards value is the rarity and age of the card, not its nation of origin.

If you are a Pokémon trading card collector, dont let this comparison discourage you. Keep reading to learn more about Japanese Pokémon cards, and how you can be on the lookout for rare and valuable trading cards.

Check For Valuable Characteristics

Not all cards with the rare symbol are equally rare, with some rare cards being rarer than others.

Other characteristics of a card such as whether its a holofoil or non-holofoil card or if its a card with special abilities, can make it rarer and more valuable.

An easy way to find valuable Pokémon cards is to look for holo cards.

Sometimes these are called:

There are a few different types of Holo Pokémon cards:

  • Holo: The Pokémon image is holofoil
  • Reverse Holo: The frame around is holofoil, but the Pokémon image itself is not.
  • Full Art Holo: The entire card is covered in holofoil graphics.

Where To Buy Japanese Pokmon Tcg

Japanese Pokemon Miracle Twin Booster Box SM11 Maximus Collectibles

The principle of the collectible card game is to trade them with other players in order to expand your collection. However, it is not always easy to find the cards you want, especially if you are looking for original Japanese Pokémon cards outside of Japan. Fortunately, you are leaving in an era where the Internet can remove many limitations.

There are online marketplaces or stores where you can order Japanese card games, but be careful with your choice, you dont want to spend your precious money to receive fake cards or even never receive them at all because the sender doesnt know how to handle international customs controls properly.

And even when you find a legitimate online store that sells Japanese Pokémon cards, its often messy, not up-to-date and poorly translated, so youre not always sure what youre buying. But worry no more, Ichiba Japan is born to help you avoid this kind of things.

What Are The Rarity Symbols On Pokmon Cards

Before we start discussing which stores sell Pokémon cards, you need to understand how to evaluate the cards. And there are four types of cards that are mostly in demand among collectors around the globe.

  • First-Edition Cards: These were first printed in 1999 as the base set with the Edition 1 logo at the bottom-left corner of the Pokémon illustration.
  • Holographic Cards: These cards have a shimmery and reflective top and a base layer that create a holographic effect.
  • Reflective Cards: These are also called inverse holographic cards as they reproduce a shining effect.
  • Full-Art Cards: Especially loved by the art connoisseurs, these cards have a complete extended illustration throughout the front panel.

Besides these variants and editions, there are three symbols that you can find in every official Pokémon card that also denotes its rarity.

  • Circles: This sign is there in all the inexpensive and ordinary cards.
  • Diamonds: Although they are not extremely rare, these cards are quite valuable.
  • Stars: This particular mark comes in all the most valuable, rarest, and most expensive ones.

Special Note: If you have an entire deck and the card count is higher than the usual number, you have a secret card in that pack. And trust me, those secret cards are the actual collectibles that fetch unbelievable prices.

Which Are The Rarest Pokmon Cards

You may not believe it, but several Pokémon cards at auction even fetched $10k for a single piece. So, if you have any rare card, it will surely be your best way to make $50k fast this year.

And the rarest and most expensive cards are as follows.

  • Pokémon GX: First introduced in the Sun & Moon set, these cards are scarce to find.
  • Pokémon-EX: First introduced in the Next Destinies set, these cards also made a comeback in the Black & White series.
  • Pokémon LV.X: First introduced in the Diamond & Pearl series, you can also find it on the later variants of the iconic Platinum series.
  • Pokémon Star: First introduced in the EX Team Rocket Returns set, you can also get it from other EX series.
  • Pokémon Legend: These are probably the only cards that come in pairs with a division between the top and bottom half.

Besides these five, Pokémon Prime and Pokémon-EX are also among the most expensive ones.

Over the past few years, Pokemon card selling has been all the rage. Celebrities and collectors alike have flipped some incredibly expensive cards online, like Shiny Charizards worth hundreds of thousands of dollars.

I already have a guide on the best places to sell Pokemon cards on This Online World to help people get started with this flipping craze.

However, that guide focuses a lot on selling individual and rare cards for money, not bulk cards. But in reality, bulk, common cards are what most people have.

So today, Im covering some of the best places to sell bulk Pokemon cards for cash.

If youre ready to turn that old box of cards in your basement into quick cash, this is the post for you.

How To Take Care Of Your Pokmon Cards

Selling Modern Bulk Pokemon Cards: TCGPlayer Direct vs. Troll& Toad EVO – What’s Better?

You may not know, but two identical cards with different conditions can fetch different values in online sales and auctions.

So, you should always keep these Pokémon cards in mint condition to get the best price possible. Below are the steps to follow!

  • Always keep your outer packaging intact, even if it comes with a paper cover.
  • Never tear off any holograms, banners, and stickers from the cards and the set itself.
  • Keep these cards in the dark place, away from the sunlight.
  • Never ever draw anything or mark any card or the deck itself with some colors.
  • It is even better if you keep the original bill for these purchases.
  • It is also a good idea to grade your cards by a Professional Sports Authenticator from your city before you appear for an auction. In that way, you can properly evaluate your card and demand a better price.

Also Check For Secret Rare Cards

There are some secret rare Pokémon cards. These have a star symbol, like those rare cards I mentioned above. But, the difference is that theyre unique in their numbering. Interestingly, they always have a card number that is beyond the standard set. For example, a secret rare card could be numbered 103/102.

Are Japanese Pokmon Cards Worth More Or Less

Pokémon has become a wildly successful game franchise since it was first founded, and collecting Pokémon cards has become more than just a pastime, but also a potential opportunity to make money.

Although Pokémon originated in Japan, the cards are not guaranteed to be worth more money than their English-language counterparts.

Many believe that Japanese Pokémon cards are made from higher quality materials, which keeps their resale value up. Japanese Pokémon cards often have the first edition markings, which can drive up the price as well.

However, the average price for English Pokémon cards is generally higher. Because they are sold at a higher price, their resale value is often higher as well.

To check the current price and availability of the Japanese Pokemon Booster Box market, click here to view the selection on Amazon.

Last time, we briefly touched on the Japanese Pokemon card market and why it is a very good idea for collectors and investors to explore it rather than just staying on the English side all of the time.

For those of you who have never really touched Japanese Pokemon cards, this is obviously new to you. But if you are really serious about becoming a shrewd collector or a successful investor in this field, you cannot ignore the Japanese market, which is, at its core, stronger than the English market.

So why wouldnt you want to dabble in the Japanese Pokemon card market to see what it has to offer?
