Pokemon Tcg 25th Anniversary Celebrations

Pokemon Celebrations 2nd Wave

Opening 30 Pokemon Celebrations Booster Packs!

Like the Pokemon Evolutions& Generations 20th anniversary sets, Celebrations will be released in several waves. Given that this set marks Pokemons 25th anniversary, it will likely be overprinted in the upcoming waves, creating an overabundance of cards in the secondary market . In fact, according to several people from the Pokemon TCG subreddit, many major retailers across the U.S. are already seeing large restocks of the product. The 2nd wave will officially arrive during the 2021 holiday season, with additional waves landing in early 2022.

Celebrations Mini Tins $899/999 October 8 2021

Mini tins are probably the smallest and cheapest way you can get in on Celebrations. They are a set of eight small tins that feature the starter Pokemon from the game’s eight generations and can be combined to show a complete image when all are put together.

Inside the tin, you get two Celebrations booster packs, one other booster pack, and a Pokemon 25 logo metallic coin. Note that, although a code for TCG Online isn’t in the box, there should be one in the additional, non-Celebrations booster pack.

Why Is This A Bad Investment

You may have noticed the usual chaos surrounding Pokemon TCG releases with this set big retailers selling out, smaller retailers drastically marking up MSRP, and scalpers flooding the secondary market. But, let us assure you, the long-term value of this set will be as bad as Battle Styles.

In this article, we are specifically referring to the following Pokemon Celebrations products:

  • Celebrations Collection Lances Charizard V
  • Celebrations Collection Dark Sylveon V

Places To Buy Pokmon Tins:

There are benefits to choosing any of the three options, but the main argument for any one of them comes down to availability. If you are looking for a particular tin , online is probably the best bet. Searching for tins online will give you the most options, and usually, big box stores and local card shops also list tins for sale online.

The one downside to buying online is that you cannot inspect the tin in person before you buy it. Occasionally, tins get damaged during shipping. Even though they are metal, it is a soft metal that can dent and ding easier than one would like. Since the online marketplace can be competitive, collectors tins sometimes go on sale for below MSRP. But always look at the shipping cost, which can be expensive for bulkier items like tins.

Buying tins at local card shops is a good option for viewing tins in person. Local shops may also have a variety of empty tins on hand if that is what you are looking for. The one downside to local shops is that they are not required to follow MSRP, so prices on popular, rare, or out-of-print tins can be higher than youd expect.

Celebrations Collection Pikachu V

*NEW* Pokémon Celebrations Elite Trainer Box Opening

Pikachu V-UNION is the fourth V-UNION product released for the game, which lets you play a mega-sized combined card if you can get all four pieces of it into your discard pile.

The neat thing about Pikachu V-UNION is that it is a collaborative piece between 25 artists from the TCG’s history, like Jiro Sasumo, Yuu Nishida, Akira Egawa, Kawayoo, Sowsow, Atsuko Nishida, and Mitsuhiro Arita.

In the collection, you get all four foil Pikachu V-UNION cards, an oversized print of the complete V-UNION card, a Professor Burnet card that can help get the V-UNION pieces into your discard pile, four Celebrations boosters, two other boosters, and a TCG Online code.

Celebrations Collector Chest $2499/2699 October 22 2021

The Celebrations Collector Chest is a metal tin that swaps the sheer bulk of cards found in an Elite Trainer Box with a wider variety of Pokemon TCG-themed memorabilia.

In the chest are six Celebrations booster packs, and two other Pokemon TCG boosters. It also includes three of the retro-styled remixed cards, with Mimikyu , Light Toxtricity , and Hydreigon C .

Alongside the cards themselves, the Collector Chest includes a coin, four sticker sheets, a mini binder to store cards, a notepad, a code for TCG Online, and a guide to the rest of the Celebrations set.

Celebrations Premium Figure Collection Pikachu Vmax $4999/5250 October 22 2021

While the other products have a stricter focus on the cards, the Pikachu VMAX Figure Collection features a figurine of one of the most popular cards in the entire Sword & Shield series: Vivid Voltage’s Pikachu VMAX. In all its chunky glory, the figurine has a nice level of detail to it, with both the big guy himself and even the VMAX/Gigantamax clouds circling above his head.

Along with the perfectly round friend, you get an etched foil promo of Pikachu VMAX a new, foil version of Pikachu V, eight Celebrations boosters, three other boosters, and a code for TCG Online.

Celebrations Deluxe Pin Collection $1999/2199 October 8 2021

The Deluxe Pin Collection is a bit of an odd one, in that it is the only boxed product in the entire lineup to have a focus on two different Pokemon.

The foil promo card is another of the retro-style modern cards, with a Zacian Lv. X . However, the enamel pin that gives the box its name is actually Pikachu-themed, with an enamel pin showing a surfing Pikachu soaring through the clouds. Although the discrepancy does feel weird, it is very nice to see Lv. X make a comeback, and the pin is incredibly high-quality, chunky, and vivid.

You also get four Celebrations booster packs, two other boosters, an information sheet about the Celebrations range, and a code for TCG Online.

The Print Quality Is Quite Good

Pokémon TCG : Celebrations 25th Anniversary V Box Dark Sylveon

This may seem like an odd reason, but its particularly important if you plan to grade your Pokemon cards. Some people are trying to do an apples to apples comparison of the Celebrations Charizard and the Evolutions Charizard, but this is incorrect.

A PSA 10 Charizard from Evolutions fetches a high price tag of $3000 today. This is only because the set had terrible print quality with only 315 PSA 10s in existence. However, there are almost 10,000 PSA 9 grades of this card, which means that the PSA 10 grades would also be in the several thousands if this set had a better print quality. A more apt comparison would be to the Champions Path Shiny Charizard V, which has over 6000 PSA 10 grades and has realized a sharp decline in value since release.

Celebrations Collection Dragapult Prime $1499/1599 October 8 2021

Much like the Dark Sylveon V and Lance’s Charizard V boxes, Dragapult Prime is focused on the returning mechanic face card, a foil promo Dragapult Prime. Prime was a type of Pokemon that was introduced in the HeartGold & SoulSilver era and hasn’t been seen since Triumphant in 2010.

Dragapult Prime has a smaller offering compared to the other two, swapping the oversized card with a four-pocket binder and a commemorative Pokemon 25 logo coin. You also get fewer packs, with two Celebrations boosters and one other booster, as well as a code to redeem the whole thing on TCG Online.

Gardevoir Ex Delta Species

ex was the predecessor to EX introduced way back in EX Ruby & Sapphire, the first third-generation TCG expansion. Its whole thing was that ex Pokemons’ attacks had extra properties, like how Gardevoir ex Delta Species’ Flame Ball attack moves a Fire Energy from it to a Benched Pokemon.

On the other hand, Delta Species’ idea was that it allowed Pokemon to appear in types they normally weren’t in. Gardevoir usually is either a Psychic type , but here it’s a Fire type with an attack that directly cares about Fire energy.

It’s a cool card that gives an insight into two overlapping periods in the TCG’s history but that’s probably not why it’s on this list: people just really love Gardevoir.

Don’t Miss: Pokemon Iconic Mystery Box

Celebrations Collection Dark Sylveon V And Lance’s Charizard V $1999/2199 October 8 2021

The first two of three boxes entirely focused on the retro-style modern cards, one includes a Dark Sylveon V , while the other includes Lance’s Charizard V, which brings back Gym Heroes'”Owner’s Pokemon” instead.

Each box includes a foil promo of its face Pokemon, as well as a collector’s oversized card. They also come with four Celebrations boosters, two other boosters, a Celebrations information sheet, and a code to redeem it all on TCG Online.

There is another version of both of these products that puts the promo card, boosters, and code into a tin instead. It lacks the oversized card that you get in the box, but it’s otherwise identical.

Celebrations Elite Trainer Box $4999/5250 October 8 2021

25th Anniversary Celebrations Ultra premium collection pokemon tcg, good pulls

Arguably the ‘main’ product of the range, the Elite Trainer Box is very similar to both the Elite Trainer Boxes from other expansions, and to Magic the Gathering’s Bundles.

The Elite Trainer Box is a bundle that contains 15 packs: ten Celebrations, and five additional ones from other recent expansions . It also includes a special foil Greninja Star one of a series of cards that combines newer Pokemon with card frames and mechanics that fell out of use before they debuted.

There’s a lot of what you’d expect from a normal Elite Trainer Box: Pokemon 25th Anniversary-branded sleeves, a bundle of basic Energy cards, a rulebook, a coin-flip die, damage counters, a brochure of the rest of the Celebrations range, and a box to keep it all in. There is, of course, also a code to unlock packs on Pokemon TCG Online, which should transfer over to Pokemon TCG Live when that launches later this year.

Exclusively for Pokemon Center stores is the Pokemon Center Elite Trainer Box. This contains similar things to the base Elite Trainer Box but includes 13 Celebrations boosters, six other boosters, a and an exclusive, larger storage box.
