HOW TO CHANGE TEAMS IN POKEMON GO! Using the All New Team Medallion Item to Switch Teams

These are some of the strongest non-legendary, mythic or mode-changed Pokémon that exist. If you take away the flashy legends these powerful beasts stand just about unrivalled, making them pretty clearly the best team ever. You arent going to find Pokémon like this just anywhere and these rare and fantastic Pokémon that still engage the breeding mechanics and make for some of the most dynamic and interesting Pokémon to use.

Pokemon Go Teams Explained

In Pokemon GO, teams are the allegiances you can join to get in-game bonuses. Theyre particularly important when it comes to gym battles: you can only place your Pokemon in a Gym belonging to your team, where theyll stay and defend it from rival trainers from other teams. Likewise, you can only fight a gym if your team doesnt already control it. If you take it on and win, you can claim that location for your team. Having a Pokemon in a gym will slowly accumulate coins then when it gets knocked out, you’ll receive them. You can earn a maximum of 50 coins per day.

There are also a few bonuses youll get if a location youre interacting with is under your teams control. If you spin a Gym thats currently owned by your team, youll get a few bonus items that rival team members wouldnt get. During raids, theres a team bonus too: if your team is controlling the gym where a raid is taking place, youll get extra balls to catch the Pokemon on offer if you manage to defeat it. Therefore, teams can be a crucial part of the games social mechanics.

New Team Medallion Allows Trainers To Switch Teams

Trainers,

Taking down Gyms and battling in raids have been a team effort over the last two years. Whether youre on #TeamInstinct, #TeamMystic, or #TeamValor, you came together with your teammates and helped one another be better Trainers. Weve loved watching you share your team pride and band together with others to take on new challenges. Are you ready to take your talents to a new team? The team leaders would be excited to recruit you!

Were happy to share Team Change with you. Later this month, starting at 1:00 p.m. PST on February 26, Team Change will allow Trainers to change teams once per year. Interested Trainers will be able to purchase a Team Medallion for 1,000 PokéCoins from the shop.

Choose your team wisely, Trainers, as you may only purchase a Team Medallion once every 365 days. Once purchased, you can find the Team Medallion in your Bag. When you decide to activate it, youll be guided through the team-selection screens to choose your new team.

Any of your Pokémon that are in Gyms when you change teams will be returned with no PokéCoins earned once its defeated. You also cant battle your own Pokémon, so if you return to a Gym one of your Pokémon is defending, your Pokémon will be returned to you with no PokéCoins earned.

We cant wait to see the new Gyms you win with your friends and Pokémon! Theres just one question: Will you be hatching Eggs with Spark, conducting research with Blanche, or battling alongside Candela? Lets team up and GO!

Change Teams In Pokmon Go

How to switch teams in Pokémon GO

Niantic has finally allowed trainers to change teams in Pokémon Go but its still not letting them make the decision lightly. For one, it costs money to make the change. Specifically, users have to purchase a special medallion that is now available in the shop to make the change and it comes with conditions.

Open Pokémon Go and tap the Pokéball at the bottom centre. On the next screen, tap Shop.

Scroll through the list of available items and look for the Team Medallion. Buy it, and use it to change your team. It costs 1000 Pokécoins so if you happen to have those to spare, changing teams should be easy. To say this is one the pricer things you can buy in the app is an understatement.

As mentioned earlier, this medallion comes with limitations. You can only use it once a year. That means team changes are limited to once per 365 days. If you later need to change your team again, you will need to purchase another Team Medallion.

After changing teams, there will be other side-effects. For one, you will be removed from the gym youve joined as gyms are under the ownership of specific teams. If you no longer belong to the team that owns a gym, you will be naturally be kicked out of it with no way to rejoin. Any Pokémon you had in the gym will of course be returned to you and you will not lose any medals etc., that youve earned as a member of the other team.

Which Team Is The Best In Pokemon Go

If you’re wondering which team to choose in Pokemon Go because you’re tired of repping the same colour for so long, it really boils down to whichever team your friends are on. Mystic are widely considered to be the most popular team, closely followed by Valor with Instinct way behind as notable underdogs. If all of your pals that you play with are on Instinct though, you’ll have much more fun taking down gyms with players on the same team as you. Not to mention the bonuses you receive in raids when the majority of players are on the same team.

Field Research And Special Research

In addition to catching Pokemon, Pokemon Go has missions to complete called Research tasks. There are two main types of tasks: Field Research and Special Research.

Special Research stories involve completing tasks to help Professor Willow investigate mysterious Pokemon.

Field Research tasks are one-off challenges that are primarily distributed at PokeStops. Youll receive one random task when you spin a photo disc, and completing it will net you a reward, which can range from an item to a Pokemon encounter.

In addition to a reward, youll earn a stamp for the first Field Research task you complete each day. Once youve amassed seven stamps, youll achieve a Research Breakthrough. This will net you additional rewards, including a chance to catch a special Pokemon. The Research Breakthrough encounter changes each month.

Special Research tasks, on the other hand, are Pokemon Gos story missions. These are introduced by a brief message from Professor Willow and typically come in multiple stages. Each stage you complete will net you various rewards, and completing the entire research line typically culminates in a chance to catch a special, rare Pokemon.

Pokemon Go: Is It Possible To Switch Teams

Ever since Pokemon Go was first released, players have been asking Niantic Labs for a way to switch teams. After all, many gamers chose their team before having an understanding of what the dynamic would be like in their area. So has Niantic provided any sort of way to change teams?

Unfortunately, there is no way to switch teams in Pokemon Go. Niantic has never made a feature like this available, and they have continued to keep switching teams impossible with the latest update.

This is such a frequently asked question that Niantic has a whole page about it on their official website. As an answer to the question How do I change my team, Niantic wrote, At this time, it is not possible to change your team.

Their language there may hint that this feature will be added at some point they do specify that its not possible to do so at this time. A lot of players have suggested that the game allow for a one-time team change. Niantic probably wouldnt introduce an ability to change teams whenever you want, but fans are just hoping that they can be allowed to do so a single time. Some have even suggested that Niantic implement a team change but make it cost money.

The argument against this idea is that there isnt a point of having teams in the first place if players can simply abandon them when they please.

One Reddit user wrote, If you want to change team when it suits you then whats the point in having teams?

Move Changes For Season 7 Of The Pokmon Go Battle League

Pokemon Go: How to Change Teams – (Pokemon Go Change Teams)

The following moves are being implemented or changed beginning with Season 7:

  • Sunflora, Celebi, Ludicolo, Roserade, and Leavanny will be able to learn Leaf Storm, a powerful grass-type charged attack that decreases your Pokémon’s attack stat after it’s used.
  • Persian, Alolan Persian, Cacnea, Cacturne, Absol, Bronzor, Bronzong, and Liepard will be able to learn the powerful dark-type charged attack Payback.

And You Can Only Change Once Per Year

We all make mistakes. Sometimes were in a hurry, and we dont take enough time to think things through. Maybe you were in a Mystic sorta mood when you first installed Pokémon Go only for second thoughts to begin creeping in a couple weeks later. Maybe youd rather roll with the Valor crew now.

Players will soon be able to change their team in Pokémon Go, but theres a fee involved. As of February 26 at 1:00pm Pacific, Niantic will offer a Team Medallion item for 1,000 PokéCoins.

Aside from the obvious price hurdle, theres also a usage restriction. The Team Medallion can only be purchased once every 365 days, so youll need to keep your treacherous ways in check.

Any of your Pokémon that are in Gyms when you change teams will be returned with no PokéCoins earned once its defeated. You also cant battle your own Pokémon, so if you return to a Gym one of your Pokémon is defending, your Pokémon will be returned to you with no PokéCoins earned.

Pokémon Go could probably stand to have more EVE Online-esque intrigue.

While youre out there two-timing your original team of choice, you may also want to try Pokémon Gos snapshot feature thats now available to Level 5 trainers on Android devices. It lets players pose their Pokémon for silly photo ops which, yeah, thats gonna go sour real fast. Avert your eyes, Gardevoir.

Pokemon Go: How To Switch Teams Using A Team Medallion

Pokemon Go, since its inception back in 2016, is still one of the most played mobile games today. One of the first major decisions players must make is to join one of the three teams: Valor, Mystic, and Instinct.

Joining a team was a one-time decision and the only way to pick a different team was to create a whole new account. Last year, Niantic released a new item called the Team Medallion that allows players to finally be able to switch teams.

Whatever your reason for switching teams is, weve got a little guide for you on how to buy Team Medallions and how to use them.

What Does Your Choice Of Pokmon Go Team Do And Which Is The Best Team

Pokemon GO YOU CAN CHANGE YOUR TEAM! (How to Change Teams ...

The only notable impact Pokémon Go Teams have on the game involve the Gyms and Raids. In Gyms, you fight on behalf of your team to take and hold the Gym with your own Pokémon, and other team members can join in the attack or defense. They also chat to you when you do CP Appraisals of your Pokemon, and while all three have their own phrases, each will grade them in the same way.

Holding a Gym for a period of time grants you PokéCoins, the in-game currency that lets you buy a variety of bonuses that would normally cost you real money. Likewise, you also get some slightly better rewards for spinning the discs above any Gym owned by your team.

Perhaps more importantly, there are some extra Premier Balls for catching Raid Pokémon that appear above a Gym owned by your team – so if you can see an Egg countdown signalling the start of a Raid, change it to your colour for an advantage! Similarly, if it’s your colour, try and defend it by feeding the creatures there Berries to stop it changing before the Raid begins.

That is otherwise about it – Gyms and Raids is where Teams really come into play. When Pokémon Go first launched, it was speculated by players that since a Legendary Bird was tied to each of the Teams as a mascot – Zapdos for Instinct, Articuno for Mystic, and Moltres for Valor – along with a relatively obvious clue to Teams’ significance in the Team leaders’ names Spark, Blanche, and Candela, it was assumed their availability would be based on your specific team.

Basic Vs Premium Rewards In The Pokmon Go Battle League

For players who have the extra PokéCoins there is an option to earn better Rewards for winning Battles. At the beginning of each Pokémon Go Battle League Set, you can choose between Basic and Premium Rewards. These Rewards include Berries, Stardust, TMs, and Pokémon Encounters.

The Pokémon you can encounter do not change between Premium and Basic, but they do get better as you rank up. Your first encounters for certain Ranks are guaranteed. For Season Seven, the Pokémon reward encounters and some of the other rewards are inspired by Elesa, a trainer introduced in Pokémon Black Version and Pokémon White Version:

  • Rank 1: Guaranteed encounter with Zebstrika.
  • Rank 1-9: Possible encounters with Poliwhirl, Flaaffy, Pupitar, or Galvantula.
  • Rank 10: Pikachu Libre avatar items.
  • Rank 10-15: Possible encounters with Medicham, Frillish, or Stunfisk.
  • Rank 15-20: Possible encounters with Scraggy, Lampent, Rufflet, or Shiny Rufflet.
  • Rank 19: An Elite Charged TM plus an Elite Fast TM as an end-of-season reward.
  • Rank 20-24: Encounter the Legendary Pokémon appearing in five-star raids at the time.
  • Ace Rank: Encounter with Deino.
  • Legend Rank: Encounter with Pikachu Libre. This will be the only time you’ll be able to encounter a Pikachu Libre during the season. You’ll also earn a pose and avatar items inspired by Elesa.
  • Catching Poliwhirl, Flaaffy, Pupitar, Medicham, Scraggy, Galvantula, Lampent, and Stunfisk in Battle League reward encounters will also earn you more Candy XL than normal.

Lycanroc Melmetal Rowlett Incineroar Naganadel Pikachu

Ashs first Championship team of a full region clearly has to be one of the best Pokémon teams ever. Notorious loser Ash Ketchum who previously only won the Orange Island badge and was infamous for getting most his badges out of pity, managing to win a league has to say a lot about the Pokémon on the team. Its a very fun bunch of some of the best-designed sun and moon Pokémon including fan favourite Rowlett, the best owl Pokémon. Plus if youre borrowing this team from Ash youll probably get to meet Team Rocket and that makes this team the best alone by default.

Training Outside Of The Pokmon Go Battle League

For those who have noticed that Nearby Battles and Team Leader Battles are no longer where they used to be, don’t worry. You can still battle your friends in PVP Battles, and you can still Train against the Team Leaders: Blanche, Candela, and Spark. Once inside the Battle Menu, swipe down to the bottom, and you’ll find your QR Code, along with a button to Scan a Battle Code for a Nearby Battle and Training options with each of the Team Leaders. You can also still Battle your Ultra and Best Friends from their profiles in your Friend List. These PVP and NPC Battles are a great way to practice for the real deal and still grant rewards all their own. However, your Rank and Rating won’t be impacted by any of these Battles, and you won’t get the Go Battle League Rewards from them either.
