Sylveon has finally made its entry into Pokémon GO after years of waiting. Just like other Eeveelutions, Sylveon can be acquired through a name trick or by earning friendship hearts with Eevee.

Sylveon is the last Eeveelution to enter Pokémon GO, as the other seven have been possible to get for a while now. This has had people wondering when the fairy type would enter the game and now the wait is finally over. As a part of the Luminous Legends Y event, players from all over the world will be able to get a Sylveon through some easy tasks.

Should You Get A Sylveon

The Fairy-type is an interesting mechanic because it was introduced in Gen 6. This means that Sylveon is one of the few impressive Fairy-types that you can get in any game. Keep in mind as well that Sylveon is only available from Gen 6 onwards. You cant get a Sylveon in the older games, so all you have to think about is getting one in the later games.

The only other evolution that may rival Sylveon is Espeon. Both of them are impressive when it comes to their Special stats. Sylveons advantage is that it can be a good support Pokemon. Depending on how you play it, you can have Sylveon be the offensive type or just be a support. You will rely on other Pokemon in your team.

Plus, Fairy-types are effective against Dragon-types because the latter is usually strong. Theres also a consensus that Sylveon is good in PVE but not that viable when it comes to PVP or competitive Pokemon battles. Any Steel or Poison-type can possibly knock out Sylveon when they have a high Attack. Good examples would be Tentacruel and Scizor.

Eevee is the star of Pokemon Go’s August Community Day, and Niantic is reducing the number of hearts it takes to evolve it into Sylveon for the event.

Pokemon Go‘s August Community Day will be a two-day celebration, developer Niantic has announced. The event is scheduled to take place August 14-15 and will feature Eevee, giving you another chance to get some Shiny Eevee evolutions.

As the featured Pokemon, Eevee will be appearing more frequently in the wild than usual throughout the entire weekend, meaning you’ll also have an increased chance of finding a Shiny. Any Shiny Eevee that you evolve will retain its Shiny coloration, making this a good opportunity to add some Shiny Eevee evolutions to your collection.

Additionally, Niantic is making it easier to get Sylveon. Typically, you need to earn 70 hearts when Eevee is set as your buddy in order to evolve it into Sylveon. For August’s Community Day, however, Niantic is reducing the number of buddy hearts you need to earn to only seven.

Eevee will also learn a different Community Day-exclusive move depending on which form you evolve it into. Any Eevee that you evolve between August 13-16 will automatically know the following attacks:

• Vaporeon: Scald
• Glaceon: Water Pulse
• Sylveon: Psyshock

Sylveon follows in these footsteps, although it is often outclassed by its Flying counterpart due to having slightly less stats and no Ground-type resistance. While Sylveon has advantages over Togekiss, such as the lack of Ice-type weakness, and access to a more reliable nuke in Moonblast, it is often difficult to justify choosing Sylveon over Togekiss.

Nevertheless, the Master League isnt particularly great at handling Charm , so what better way to abuse this than to run two of them? Sylveon often sees play alongside Togekiss to really take advantage of Charms oppressive pressure in a format dominated by Dragon types. Anchoring these two is a Pokemon that can simultaneously cover Steels, Kyogre, Ho-Oh, and Mewtwo in one slot this Pokemon usually being either forme of Giratina. Giratina, in turn, appreciates the Charmers ability to defeat the Dragon and Dark-types that plague it so much.

It will be much easier to evolve Eevee into Sylveon in Pokemon GO this weekend as the Eevee Community Day weekend will ease the evolution method for this Eeveelution. Between August 13-16, 2021, the heart requirement to evolve the character will be drastically reduced. As for the Eevees, they will only be more frequent during certain hours on August 14, 2021 and August 15, 2021.

Normally, the evolution method is to evolve Eevee into Sylveon into Pokemon GO requires you to earn hearts through Buddy interactions. Unfortunately, the original three Eeveelutions are still random. Once youve used the nickname trick, youre pretty much stuck to the random number generator. How To Evolve Eevee Into Sylveon

One method for evolving Eevee into Sylveon is setting it as the Buddy Pokemon and taking it for walks to earn hearts. Once players earn 70 hearts, they can evolve Eevee by simply feeding it 25 Eevee candy.

Another more straightforward method for evolving Eevee into Sylveon involves changing the name of the Eevee and then giving it the Eevee Candy to evolve. All of the other “Eeveelutions,” like Espeon, for example, can be obtained by changing Eevee’s name to Sakura. For Eevee to evolve into Sylveon, players can change the Pokemon’s name to “Kira” and then go to the Pokemon’s info page and hit the Evolve button. There are no other prerequisites besides the name change.

It’s also worth noting that the Eevee naming trick can only be used one time per Eevee-lution. If players end up with another Eevee that they want to change into a Sylveon, they will need to increase its friendship levels by earning hearts.

How To Get Sylveon In Pokmon Go Without The Name Trick

As stated, there are three ways how to get Sylveon in Pokémon Go in total. One of the ways, the famous name trick cheat, we have already analyzed and explained in the preceding paragraph, so it remains to explain the other two. The first method of obtaining Sylveon is via the regular evolution method, as shown in the game.

The regular evolution requirement for Eevee, i.e., having 25 Eevee Candy, remains here, but Sylveon has some additional requirements that have to be met in order to get Sylveon the regular way.

The second thing you have to do is make Eevee your Buddy Pokémon, a concept introduced in the game to earn Candy with a specific Pokémon quicker than usual. Your Buddy Eevee has to earn a total of 70 Hearts in order to evolve into Sylveon, which is a large number.

Why? Well, there are limits to how many hearts you can earn per day. The following lists all the Buddy Activities that can earn Affection hearts and EP. Activities in italics denote that the buddy must be walking in the overworld map to count towards points for Affection and Mood.

So, this is a very quick guide on how to earn as much Hearts per day as possible. Obtaining 70 of them is quite a process but if you want a Sylveon, youll have to work a bit.

How To Get Sylveon In Pokemon Go

Now for the normal method of evolving Sylveon in Pokemon Go. While other Eeveelutions require walking a certain distance and evolving at a specific time of the day, or using a themed lure module, Sylveon is all about friendship. Sylveon also arguably has the hardest method of evolution, because you need to set it as your buddy and earn 75 hearts with it.

This can be done by taking photos of Sylveon, playing with it, feeding it, spinning new Pokestops, all the usual rigmarole to earn hearts with a buddy. If you make your buddy excited you can earn a maximum of 20 hearts per day, so you can evolve an Eevee into Sylveon in four days. If you dont get Eevee excited, itll take eight days, with 10 hearts per day.

In order to make a buddy excited each day, you need to keep doing activities with it. Everything on the list of activities in-game counts, along with opening gifts/souvenirs from your buddy, and when youve done enough, your buddy will be excited and youll earn double the amount of hearts for that day. To be more specific, you need a total of 32 points, and completing the full list will earn 14 points. So do each one three times and voila! One excited buddy.

Thats all there is to it! Sylveon is the final Eevee-lution in the world of Pokemon, so dont expect any more additions to come to Pokemon Go.

Pokemon Go Sylveon Nickname Trick

First up is the nickname trick you can use to get either your very first Sylveon to tick it off the Pokedex, or save until you have a shiny/100% Eevee you want to dedicate to be the best Sylveon possible.

If you’re unsure how this works, all you have to do is change the nickname of the Eevee you want to evolve to Kira. The question mark in the evolve button should change to a silhouette of Sylveon if you do not see that silhouette, do not press evolve and instead restart your app then try again. This is a one-time use trick so once you’ve used the name Kira once, you’ll have to follow the method below for any more Sylveons you want to add to your collection.

Pokmon Go: How To Evolve Umbreon And Espeon

You can also specifically evolve the Gen 2 evolutions Umbreon and Espeon from Eevee. To do this, you must first make the Eevee in question your buddy, just as with the Sylveon evolution. Once thats done, youll have to walk ten kilometres with it, collecting two candies along the way. Important note: Dont relieve Eevee of the role of buddy after that, it must hold this position when you evolve it for the method to work.

If your Eevee has met the above conditions, it can evolve into Espeon during the day, and Umbreon at night. Wait until the lighting in the game clearly shows whichever time you need to achieve the desired result.

The evolution tricks for Sylveon, Leafeon, Glaceon, Umbreon, and Espeon can be used infinitely, unlike the name trick.

How To Evolve Espeon And Umbreon In Pokmon Go

You can evolve Espeon and Umbreon by using the Eevee name trick or by using the Buddy Pokémon evolution method.

In order to get Espeon or Umbreon do the following steps with your Eevee Buddy:

• Set the Eevee you wish to evolve as your Buddy
• Walk at least 10 km with Eevee and earn 2 Eevee Candies with your Buddy
• Evolve the Eevee while its your Buddy
• Evolving an Eevee during day time will give you Espeon
• Evolving an Eevee during night time will give you Umbreon

Eevee must be set as a buddy before the evolution. After making sure all criteria are met, evolving during the day will get the trainer a Psychic type Espeon, while Dark type Umbreon will make its appearance at night time in the Pokémon GO app.

Since the day and night are determined by local time, the GPS signal is also required otherwise the evolution will be random.

None of the Pokémon that require a special item or task to evolve spawn in the wild, including both Espeon and Umbreon. The Buddy System method can be used repeatedly making it the only reliable way to obtain them.
