Pokmon Go Eevee Evolutions Ranked
As Eevee is the star of the , its time to plan what evolutions you want for your killer collection. But all Eevee evolutions are not created equal.
Each of Eevees eight evolutions has different stats and weaknesses. Knowing these will help you choose what to keep from your mega Community Day haul.
All eight ‘Eeveelutions’ are now available in Pokémon GO: Sylveon, Umbreon, Espeon, Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Leafeon and Glaceon.
In the “classic” Pokémon games, this particular monster is able to evolve into different types depending on what special items you have, its happiness level, the moves it has unlocked and the time of day. Thankfully you don’t have to jump through those kinds of hoops in Pokémon GO.
Instead, you can simply rename your Eevee to one of eight different names to guarantee a particular evolution, or employ some other tricks to get your desired Eevee evolution. There are a few caveats, but these methods definitely work.
Evolution Methods For Eevee In Pokmon Go: Stones And Bait Modules
Once the trick no longer works for us, we will have to resort to the conventional method: subjecting Eevee to the exposure of a evolutionary stone O bait modules. Depending on the desired evolution, getting any of the evolutions in Pokémon GO strictly depends on the stone we use and the context in which we do it. Lets take a look at each case individually so you can understand it at a glance.

How Do You Evolve More Umbreon Or Espeon In Pokmon Go
If you’ve already used the nickname trick, and want to get another Umbreon or Espeon, these two Eeveelutions can also be controlled in Pokémon Go. If you just hit the Evolve button, you will get either Vaporeon, Flareon, or Jolteon completely at random. To get Umbreon or Espeon, you need to raise your Buddy Pokémon’s Friendship level:
You can swap out Eevee for another Buddy, but you’ll have to swap Eevee back to being your Buddy before you try to evolve Umbreon or Espeon.

How To Evolve Eevee Leafeon And Glaceon
Finally Eevee evolutions got even more confusing in Pokémon GO with the addition of Gen 4s Leafeon and Glaceon. This time youll need an item, or someone around you will need to use one that you can access. To evolve Eevee into Leafeon you need to be within range of a Poké Stop that has an active Mossy Lure on it. You can see this on the map with flying leaves surrounding it. Glaceon requires the Stop to instead have a Glacial Lure on it, which will display with swirling ice. Most players have gotten these for free from various events, but they can also be purchased from the shop for 200 Poké Coins a piece. Once you have one just use it on a Stop and evolve an Eevee while standing nearby.
And thats all Eevee evolutions and how to them them all in Pokémon GO. Sylveon may be added later, so check back for more when Gen 6 hits and after.

How To Evolve Eevee Into Umbreon In Pokmon Go
Eevee has eight different evolutions in Pokémon Go. One of those evolutions is Umbreon, a Dark-type Pokémon. Its a favorite for players who regularly compete in the Great and Ultra Leagues, Pokémon Gos PvP matches. Umbreon is considered one of the stronger choices, so long as it has a good team backing it up. However, because Eevees evolutions vary, evolving an Eevee into an Umbreon can be a little complicated. This guide details how to evolve Eevee into Umbreon in Pokémon Go.
The way you go about evolving Eevee into an Umbreon is to make sure you pick the Eevee you want to evolve and make it your buddy. You can do this by clicking on your avatar profile and selecting your buddy from your available collection. Once youve chosen your Eevee, the next step is to walk 10 km with that Eevee. This step can be a little difficult to accurately track, but Eevee receives a heart for every 2 km you walk with it, which you can receive up to three times a day. You can accurately track it for part of the first day, but you can also use your egg incubators to keep track of it.
After youve walked 10 km with that Eevee, the final step is to evolve it when its night out. It cant only be dark in your area, but when you launch Pokémon Go, the environment around you needs to be dark. If its not, you might miss out on your chance to turn that Eevee into Umbreon, and it could become an Espeon instead.

How To Rename Eevee To Evolve Into Sylveon Leafeon Glaceon Umbreon Espeon Vaporeon Jolteon And Flareon
Evolving Eevee using the required 25 Eevee candy will produce a random evolution. However, you can control which type it turns into by renaming the monster beforehand:
- Rename “Kira” to evolve into Fairy-type Sylveon
- Rename “Linnea” to evolve into Grass-type Leafeon
- Rename “Rea” to evolve into Ice-type Glaceon
- Rename “Sakura” to evolve into Psychic-type Espeon
- Rename “Tamao” to evolve into Dark-type Umbreon
- Rename “Rainer” to evolve into Water-type Vaporeon
- Rename “Sparky” to evolve into Electric-type Jolteon
- Rename “Pyro” to evolve into Fire-type Flareon
There are some caveats here. This only works one time per evolution, so if you plan to use your Eeveelution in battle, make sure you’ve chosen an Eevee with favourable stats. The naming trick is currently the only guaranteed way to evolve Vaporeon, Jolteon or Flareon – once you’ve done it once, it’ll be up to random chance if you get another, regardless of what you’ve named it.
There are tricks to reliably evolving the other Eevee varieties more than once, though…

Fun Fact About Eevee Evolution Names In Pokmon Go
Apart from how to evolve Umbreon in Pokemon Go, there is a fun fact you would want to know about Umbreon. Espeon and Umbreon take their nickname from the anime, but instead of Pokemon, their characters are humans.
In Pokemon: Johto League Champions 26th episode – Trouble’s Brewing, Ash and the friends come across 5 Kimono sisters of Ecruteak City. Each of the sisters pairs with an Eeveelution, and Tamao was with Umbreon. That explains why the nickname for the Pokemon in the naming trick is Tamao.

Every Things About Umbreon Pokmon Go
Before moving further, lets first talk about the significance of Umbreon in Pokémon GO. As we mentioned earlier, its one of the seven Pokémon of Eevees Eeveelutions. Its basically a Dark type Pokémon with a maximum CP of 2137. Thanks to its unique move set, Umbreon is extremely useful if youre participating in PvP battles.
Umbreons CP will vary for everyone as it depends on the Players current level. For instance, if youre at Level 15, youll only be able to get a CP up to 916. But, if youre fighting at a Level 40, you can even get the maximum CP, i.e., 2137.
Umbreon gets a power boost by Fog weather and you can even reach a CP of 1526, even at Level 25. In addition to this, Umbreon has 126 attack, 240 defense, and 216 stamina, making it a perfect companion for almost every PvP battle.

How To Get Other Evolutions Of Eevee With Surety
Now that you have got an Umbreon, you shall aim at getting other Eevee evolutions a part of your collection. It is actually possible to get every Eeveelution in Pokemon Go, including Sylveon. Im explaining the tricks to get all of them below. Using them, you can create a complete party of the cute foxes.
Sylveon And Why To Hang Onto Flower Crown Eevee
Unless the November release of Pokemon Sword & Shield introduces another Eeveelution, Sylveon is the last Eevee evolution expected in Pokemon GO. Introduced in Pokemon X & Y itll be a while before Sylveon makes its way into Pokemon GO. But it may be worth hanging onto a Flower Crown Eevee or three for this exact purpose.
Not only would it be a great status symbol and potentially the cutest critter in the whole game Sylveon is a raw Fairy-type Pokemon. That makes it an absolutely perfect Dragon-type Pokemon counter! It would be capable of dealing double damage with its Fairy-type moves and resisting incoming Dragon-type damage. Itll also resist and counter Dark and Fighting-type Pokemon. Sylveon should be a great asset against other popular raids for padding out your teamslike Machamp and Tyranitar.
Its not going to be incredibly helpful for those playing now, but once introduced, Sylveon could help newcomers build capable raid teams very quickly. Consider hanging onto a Flower Crown Eevee in Pokemon to get yourself a Flower Crown Sylveon down the line.

Pokemon Go Community Day: How To Evolve Eevee Into Every One Of Its Evolutions
The shiny Eevees are out in force for Pokemon GOs Eevee Community Day, giving trainers around the world a shot at that elusive prize: a full collection of all 9 Eevee family shinies. But if you want to get Flareon, Jolteon, Vaporeon, Umbreon, Espeon, Leafeon, Sylveon and Eevee, youll need to make use of a couple of tricks to make it happen. Heres how to do that. Ive published some of this info before, but it never hurts to have a refresher.
The simplest way of getting a specific evolution is to just change your Pokemons nickname. Each evolution has a nickname tied to it, and you can use that to guarantee a single evolution. So if youve already used this trick on a given account, it wont work again. So while this will likely be less useful for most, here are those:
- Flareon: Pyro
- Glaceon: Rea
- Sylveon: Kira
After that, most of the evolutions have an alternate, more involved method for forcing the evolution. Here are those:
- Flareon, Jolteon, Vaporeon: These ones are pure RNG, so best of luck.
- Umbreon: Walk an Eevee 10km as your buddy, then evolve it at night while its still your buddy. Update: this requires no walking distance during community day, just equip as your buddy at night and evolve.
Heres How To Achieve The Other Eeveelutions
The name trick works with almost every other evolution of Eevee, but like with Umbreon, it only works once. If you name your Eevee any of the following, itll guarantee one evolution to the desired Pokémon:
- Rainer: Vaporeon
- Linnea: Leafeon
- Kira: Sylveon
To achieve an Espeon evolution after using the name trick, you have to equip the Eevee as your buddy and walk 10 kilometers, ensuring it evolves during the day .
After using the name trick to achieve a Leafeon and a Glaceon, you can achieve these evolutions again by using certain Lures, which can be purchased at the store for 200 coins each. Youll need a Mossy Lure to evolve into Leafeon and a Glacial Lure for Glaceon.
To evolve your Eevee to Sylveon, you have to make it your buddy and earn 75 friendship hearts with it. This will take some time and isnt achieved in a day, like some of the other Eeveelutions can be.
If youre looking to evolve a Jolteon, Flareon, or Vaporeon after youve used the name trick, unfortunately there isnt another way to guarantee the evolution. Luckily, these are the most common evolutions of Eevee, meaning youre likely to get them by chance often by evolving it naturally.

Umbreon Pokemon Go Flower Crown Eevee Guide
Umbreon is a Dark-type Pokemon, and therefore very helpful against powerful Psychic-type Pokemon like Mewtwo and Deoxys. Both of which feature in the Ultra Bonus event. Even so, Umbreon is far more bulk than brawn. Its a great gym defender or Great League brick, but Pokemon like Sharpedo, Tyranitar, Houndoom, and Honchcrow are better Dark-type attacker options to strive for.
If youre looking to chip in with Psychic-type raids like Mewtwo, Deoxys, or the Emotion trio, Umbreon can at least prolong your teams survival. It could even become an asset against Alolan Raichu. Just dont expect it to melt away HP in the same way Tyranitar or Gyarados do in similar situations!
Pokemon Go Eeveelutions: How To Evolve Eevee Into Umbreon Or Espeon
For the Gen 2 pair, it’s all about walking and time of day. Set Eevee as your buddy and walk 10km, then evolve it during the daytime for Espeon, or during the night time for Umbreon.
Unfortunately, there is no specific method to get Flareon, Jolteon, or Vaporeon. These evolutions are random so you just need to ensure you have enough candy and evolve as many Eevees as needed till you get the one you’re after. Since there are only three possibilities each time, it shouldn’t take too long.
So there you have it, all the tips and tricks to evolving your Eevee into the Eeveelution of your choice in Pokemon GO. Make sure you check out the rest of our Pokemon GO guides below:
