Heavy Ball Pokemon Legends Arceus

Do Heavy Ball Variants Work The Same Way In Battle

Pokemon Legends: Arceus heavy ball guide, this thing is actually overpowered

The intent of the Heavy Ball, Leaden Ball, and Gigaton Ball seems to be that they have a higher catch rate than the basic balls in exchange for a much shorter throwing arc, rewarding you for sneaking up right next to a Pokémon.

But if you engage in battle first, there’s no aiming involved and distance isn’t a concern, you simply automatically hit the target. Do the balls’ increased catch rates still apply in this case? If so, does it mean those balls are always the best option for catching alphas or if you fail to sneak up on an aggressive mon?

This part of your question is not fully accurate:

have a higher catch rate than the basic balls in exchange for a much shorter throwing arc

While Heavy Balls, Leaden Ball, and Gigaton Balls indeed cannot be thrown as far, this factor is not what provides the higher catch rate. These pokéballs provide a higher catch rate if the Pokémon has not noticed you.

are thrown in a shorter arc and do not travel as far as the standard Poké Ball, but are highly effective when used to attempt a capture against a Pokémon that has not yet noticed the player.

Heavy Balls are a special variety of Poké Ball that are more effective at catching Pokémon that havent yet noticed you

So to answer your question, using heavy balls and its upgraded versions do not provide its additional catch rate while in battle.

How To Use Heavy Balls In Pokmon Legends: Arceus

How to use a Heavy Ball.

There have been different types of Poke Balls since the beginning of the series, and Pokémon Legends: Arceus is no different. You have your standard types of balls, which should be used only under certain situations. The heavy ball is a new type of ball in the series and, at first, can be a bit intimidating.

You use the heavy ball just like a normal Poke Ball, but you will notice that it really doesn’t get thrown that far. This ball is made for close-range use, with it being most effective on Pokémon who aren’t aware of your presence yet.

While this may seem like a bit of a letdown, it is actually an incredibly useful tool for catching higher-level Pokémon. It can also be used in combination with tall grass and berries to safely lure and catch unsuspecting Pokémon with ease.

It’s always good to have these on hand, especially as you go into higher-level areas, as they can nab you several easy catches. Just be aware that they may not always be the best choice when in battle or when trying to catch an already friendly Pokémon.

Every Kind Of Poke Ball In Pokemon Legends Arceus

Heavy Ball Recipe | Pokemon Legends Arceus Walkthrough

Poke Balls come into the players possession right away in Pokemon Legends, as Professor Laventon lends them fifty of the things to help capture the starter Pokemon. The player is later given a starting set of twenty once they begin working for the Galaxy Expedition Team, and they can buy and craft more. Eventually, more crafting recipes will be provided, giving the player several options for Poke Balls to craft and upgrade. The full list of Poke Balls is as follows:

Most of these balls can be crafted, and some lower-tier ones can eventually be bought from merchants. The Origin Ball is the lone exception to this rule, as it is Pokemon Legends equivalent to a Master Ball. There is only one, and it is given to the player late in the game. The rest can be divided into three categories: regular, Heavy, and Feather. The basic Poke Balls are recent inventions as of Legends, meant to force Pokemon to activate their latent shrinking ability. If the capture is successful, signaled by a small firework, then the creature is rendered docile. Normal Poke Balls are easy to craft and can be kept useful through stealthy tactics and distraction items, but they will become less capable of catching higher-level Pokemon. Great Balls and Ultra Balls provide boosted catch rates, and will gradually become a players go-to tools in the field.

All Pok Balls In Pokmon Legends: Arceus

You can make your own resources if you end up running low.

Poké Ball crafting has been part of the Pokémon franchise since Gold and Silver, disappearing and reappearing over the years with Game Freak never fully committed to including Apricorns and the mechanic in every game.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus not only brought Poké Ball crafting back, but it made it a core mechanic of the game, having players use ancient Poké Balls that they need to forage materials for and craft themselves to use.

Along with the basic Poké Ball, ancient versions of the Great Ball and Ultra Ball exist. Specialized Poké Balls also appear in Legends: Arceus. Feather Balls, Heavy Balls, and more variations each have special effects that make them better to use in specific scenarios.

If you visit Jubilife Villages Craftworks or use the workbench at a Base Camp, you can craft items freely using resources you have in your bag or storage. You can craft items from a portable Crafting Kit when out in the wild, but youll be limited to using only the resources youre carrying.

Throughout the game, youll be given a good amount of Poké Balls just for progressing through the story and can buy certain types from shops. But if you want to know what types of Poké Balls are available and how to craft more of them, here are the details you need to know, with information and recipes being added as theyre discovered.

Steps To Craft The Heavy Ball

Pokemon Legends Arceus Pokeball / Pokémon Legends: Arceus: se revela la ...

Heavy Balls are pretty easy to craft in the game, as the only recipe difference between a regular Poké Ball and a Heavy Ball is the type of Tumblestone.

In order to craft a Heavy Ball, you’ll need two items: one and one Black Tumblestone. Both of these items can easily be found out in the wild – Apricorns grow on trees, while Black Tumblestones can be found scattered in the Obsidian Fields. Though, if you’re ever in a pinch, Craftworks in Jubilife Village will also have them to buy.

Once you obtain at least one of each item, you can use a workbench to begin crafting. Conveniently, Craftworks also has an accessible workbench, as will any Base Camps.

Once you reach one, you’ll be able to select the Heavy Ball on the lefthand side of the screen to craft it. In case you ever forget what materials you need, the workbench menu will tell you exactly what items are required, and how many.

And that’s it! Now you can combine the Apricorn and the Black Tumblestone to craft as many Heavy Balls as you desire.

Heavy Balls are a particular type of Poké Ball that will be especially effective against Pokémon that haven’t noticed you. As the name implies, the trade-off for the advantage is a heavier Poké Ball, meaning they won’t fly as far as a regular one. Though, if you’re more inclined to using stealth, the Heavy Ball will be the perfect capture tool for you.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus is officially out to play on January 28, 2022 for the Switch.

You need to sneak up to a wild Pokemon and make sure they don’t notice you to fully utilize the Heavy Ball. Hisui is set in a time when modern technology does not exist, so everything has to be done manually through crafting and research. While crafting a Heavy Ball is no different from a regular Poke Ball, there is a slight variation in materials required. You will need a Black Tumblestone and an Apricorn. Black Tumblestones are quite common around the Deertrack Path and Deertrack Heights, and you can collect them by throwing your Poke Ball containing a Pokemon at them. Apricorns are found in Apricorn Trees around Obsidian Fieldlands.

After collecting the required materials, you are ready to craft your Heavy Ball after getting the recipe while playing the game. Heavy Balls can be used on unsuspecting Pokémon or a Pokémon that has been lured in, and are very reliable in trapping them. To use them, you should stay well hidden and approach the Pokémon slowly to not draw attention to yourself, and once you are close enough, toss the Heavy Ball at it. Heavy Balls have very little range, so it is not possible to throw them over a distance, hence getting up close is vital to successfully use your Heavy Ball.
