Pokemon Fillers Can Actually Be Fun To Watch Too

Like most popular franchises with multiple movies spanning the whole length of its existence in current media , the canonicity of Pokemon movies is kind of more or less hazy. The events are often never mentioned thereafter, and there are a few events in the TV series that kind of make you question whether Ash TV and Ash movie are both the same person.

But, as certain facts, such as references to Charizard still in the Charicific Valley after the third movie, have proven, some of them can be confirmed. Its a bink or miss thing, though, so it would still be best to enjoy the series as it is.

And as for the entire timespan that Ash spent in all of these adventures and all these entire two decades, we have one single tip for you:

Hes still ten years old. Please dont ask why. And dont consult Serena about this.

How Much Time Will It Take To Complete Pokemon

Pokemon Season 2 Folder Icon (version 2) by Maxi94

The most dreaded section is here, where I can make your eyeballs pop out of their sockets with the help of numbers. Just as you must have expected, Pokemon is a big series, and to complete it you will need quite a lot of time on your hands.

  • TV series 30450 minutes
  • Movies 2113 minutes
  • ONAs 328 minutes
  • Specials 750 minutes
  • Live-action adaptation 104 minutes

All the Pokemon series, movies, specials, and ONAs will take around 562 hours and 25 minutes which amounts to 24 days of nonstop watching. Even if you are a crazed fan who adores the series and can sacrifice everything to binge-watch it, it might take a few months to complete realistically.

Is Pokmon On Hulu

Hulu is another popular app that has a good hold on the market share in the US. Due to its popularity, Hulu was one of the best streaming services where you can watch Pokémon. Hulu used to have a huge library of Pokémon content, but the Pokémon Company has since pulled out some of its content.

Before the pullout, Hulu had a good roster of Pokémon series and movies. It started airing Pokémon seasons in 2010, as it had Pokémon Origins, Diamond and Pearl, and The Rise of Darkrai. Hulu later acquired seasons Diamond and Pearl Battle Dimension, Diamond and Pearl Galactic Battles, Diamon and Pearl Sinnoh League Victors, Giratina and the Sky Warrior, Arceus and the Jewel of Life, Zoroark: Master of Illusions, Blac: Victini and Reshiram, White: Victini and Zekrom, Kyurem vs. The Sword of Justice, and Genesect and the Legend Awakened. Still, Hulu remains one of the best platforms that offer Pokémon shows and movies.

Is It Necessary To Watch Pokemon Seasons And Movies In Order

Absolutely not. It isnt necessary to watch all Pokemon seasons in order because, in every season, Ash participates in a new tournament and starts from scratch.

You can even watch the movies randomly or after you have finished all the episodes. The movies are mostly canon and deal with separate adventures with legendary Pokemons that rarely occur in the seasons.

Since most of us have watched the anime growing up and are pretty much well-versed with the characters, and Pokemon is episodic in nature, you can start with any series you want. However, we would recommend starting from one of the pioneer seasons.

The Plot Of The Pokemon Anime

Where To Watch Pokemon Journeys The Series! (Free)

Pokemon follows the adventures of a young boy named Ash Ketchum. He journeys the world with his partner Pokemon, Pikachu, seeking to become the greatest trainer there ever was. He commonly partners up with characters from the mainline games, letting fans experience a deeper connection with Ash than most anime protags. The anime also follows key events from the Pokemon games while mixing in some of its own unique charm.

The current iteration of the anime is called Pokemon Master Journeys. Through his journeys, Ash travels with fellow Pokemon trainers Goh and Chloe. Together, they go on an epic adventure through all major regions of the world. Recent seasons have strayed from the storylines of the Pokemon games, in favor of telling their own stories. But familiar characters from both the games and previous anime episode- still make prominent appearances.

The Pokemon anime also consists of special movies. These movies feature Legendary and Mythical Pokemon, providing more high-stakes storytelling and heart-pounding action. While these movies arent required to enjoy the anime itself, theyre great bonuses for fans of the series. Numerous elements of the anime are also referenced in Pokemon games, so long-time watchers have plenty to look forward to.

Pokmon: Adventures In The Orange Islands

Original run: January 28, 1999 October 7, 1999Number of episodes: 36

Pokémon: Adventures in the Orange Islands is the second Pokémon series in order. Like the first season, it follows the story of Ash and his friends. This time, however, Ash travels across the Orange Islands with Misty and Tracey, a new character.

Throughout the show, Ash collects new Pokémon and Gym Badges. A Gym Badge is a small pin that a Pokémon trainer receives after defeating a Gym Leader. Because Ash wants to compete in the Orange League competition, he has to collect eight Gym Badges.

Pokémon: The Movie 2000 is a two-part film that takes place between episodes 24 and 25. In the film, Ash, Misty, and Tracey find three legendary bird Pokémon at Shamouti Island.

Original run: October 14, 1999 July 27, 2000Number of episodes: 41

Next on this list is Pokémon: The Johto Journeys or Pocket Monsters: Episode Gold & Silver. It premiered in the United States in 2000, and its popularity continued to grow. The show also ranked as the number one program among young boys aged 2 to 11 years old.

Ash and Misty return alongside Brock, their companion from season one. This time, they travel across the Pokémon universes best region, the Johto region. Many fans believe Johto is the best because of its traditional Japanese design.

Original run: August 3, 2000 August 2, 2001Number of episodes: 52

Bringing The Big Screen To The Small Screen

While much of Ash and Pikachus adventures aired on television, the duo has also starred in over 20 movies over the years. Almost all of these are available through Amazon Prime. Some are available as part of a Prime subscription, while others require a rental or purchase. Notable omissions include Pokémon Heroes and Pokémon: JirachiWish Maker, but the rest of them are all available through the service. JirachiWish Maker can be purchased on Vudu, for some reason. Heroes is almost nowhere to be found through official means, except on Manga TV, according to Rokus site. As a Latias fan, this feels like violence toward me, specifically.

One thing to keep in mind, however, is that Netflix has the Secrets of the Jungle movie and the 3D animated remake of The First Movie available to stream right now. So dont rent or buy them if youve got a membership over there.

What Happens In Pokmon: Hisuian Snow Episode 1

We meet Alec on a boat traveling to the Hisui region, where he explains to another passenger that hes going to meet his father in Jubilife Village. The passengers cheerful demeanor changes and he explains that a dangerous Pokémon has appeared in the region. Alecs gaze drifts away from the speaker, as his childhood memories come to the forefront.

In this flashback, we see Alec as a carefree young boy being initiated into the family business by his father, a woodworker. Much more cautious and watchful than his son, he seems to regard the forest from which he gains his living as a mysterious and potentially malevolent place. In this episode, he stops his son from following a strange glow in the woods. That glow is Zoroark, he explains, a Pokémon who, in his words, lost everything and became something else due to mistreatment by humans. As he explains this, we are treated to a brief flashback from his point of view, looking terrified as he is menaced by a foxlike being who looks to be more of an evil spirit than a flesh-and-blood creature.

Back to the man and his son young Alec asks why the Zoroark was mistreated, but his father refuses to explain. People and Pokémon can never coexist, is all he says. The story continues from there, but youll have to see the rest for yourself:
