Pokemon Ultra Sun & Moon

What The Next Pokémon Game Will Be After Sword And Shield

Release Date: November 17, 2017

Region: Alola

Starter Pokemon: Rowlet, Litten & Popplio

The decision to release Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon so soon after the base versions of the games went on sale was seen as a little strange by many, especially considering how little was actually changed. Granted, there is more content available in the updated titles, but there is also plenty of stuff missing as well.

One of the most noticeable additions is the concept of Ultra Beasts, with four of them available across the two games. There are also two new forms added for Necrozma, with players able to combine the Pokemon with Solgaleo or Lunala in much the same way that they could enhance Kyurem in Black 2 & White 2.

Pokmon: Where Should The Franchise Go After Sword And Shield

What does the future of the Pokémon franchise hold now that Sword and Shield are out?

Pokémon Sword and Shield are out in the wild now, and despite garnering negative reactions from some fans because of a limited Pokédex, the games have earned a lot of positive reviews and also become the fastest-selling Nintendo Switch titles to date. So whats next for the franchise?

With the Pokémon franchise having been around for decades, there is plenty of past form for us to consider here. There are a few obvious options that might hold clues as to what Game Freak, Nintendo, and The Pokémon Company could have in store for their core critter-catching RPG franchise going forward.

We put our thinking hats on and came up with a few logical options that may or may not prove to be accurate. But for now, these are the best guesses weve got as to where the Pokémon franchise is going

Storage Center: Pokmon Home

Pokémon HOME is necessary for any serious Pokémon trainer who wants to keep the collection of Pokémon they’ve caught over the years. The base service is free but allows players to store up to only 30 Pokémon and limits how many trades they can do. However, if players pay for the Premium subscription, they’ll be able to deposit as many as 6,000 Pokémon and can trade more freely with others online.

Now This Is What Next

Pokémon fans are looking forward to a double-helping of Pocket Monster action over the next six months, with Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl arriving in November before Pokémon Legends: Arceus touches down in January 2022. The former is a remake of Diamond and Pearl outings on Nintendo DS, but the latter is seen by many as a ‘next-gen’ experience akin to Zelda: Breath of the Wild a game which will hopefully take the series in an exciting new direction.

However, the latest trailer for Black Desert Online developer Pearl Abyss’ DokeV makes us genuinely question what a true ‘next-gen’ Pokémon experience should look like. The WIP footage was shown off on the opening night of this year’s Gamescom, and visually at least, it looks like an appealing mix of both Pokémon and Splatoon.

“DokeV is a creature-collecting open world action-adventure filled with intriguing stories and set in a unique, vibrant world,” says the game’s official site. “Befriend the adorable Dokebi that gain strength from and encourage people’s dreams, and get ready to embark on an adventure!”

Players are shown interacting with one another in a huge, sprawling cityscape. You can ride bikes and skateboards, as well as float around on umbrellas, but the main focus is battling and capturing monsters. Combat appears to be in real-time , with your monster allies automatically attacking enemies while you chip in with weapons, which you can seemingly switch between at will.

What Is The Next Pokemon Game To Release After Pokemon Legends: Arceus

Whats Next For Pokemon

The Pokemon Company have always had a formula with their releases:

  • Two mainline series games that act as counterparts.
  • A third game which added new content.
  • A remake of an old generation.
  • A new generation.
  • Of course, this has not always been the case, just as we have seen with the releases of Pokemon mainline series games from Pokemon Sword and Shield onwards. But when we think about it, there have been two whole games after the release of Pokemon Sword and Shield that werent a new generation i.e. Generation 9.

Most people would speculate that its about time that The Pokemon Company now have the Generation 9 game as their next release and if youve had this hunch as well, then there is a very good chance that youre right.

, one of the most trusted and legitimate leakers in the Pokemon Community, a while back tweeted a couple of tweets regarding The Pokemon Companys next release:

I see some people are saying that because of Legends DLC in 2022 that means that there won’t be Gen 9 until 2023I wouldn’t be so sure about that.

    Centro LEAKS

Here, Centro hints towards fans that just because people assume Pokemon Legends: Arceus DLC would be their next release in 2022 after the game itself, they shouldnt rule out the possibility of Generation 9 coming out the same year as well.

Gen 9 is well in development and targeting a 2022 release as of a couple months ago, but don’t know if plans have changed.

    Release Date: February 12th 2020

Perhaps this is a little unfair considering Pokémon HOME isnt a game per se, but its still an official Pokémon application available on the Switch, so we decided to include it anyway. Its completely free and acts ascloud-based storage for Pokémon.

There is a mobile version of the game and of course, a Switch version. The Switch version boasts some exclusive features, including access to the Basic Box where 30 Pokémon can be stored. Pokémon from Lets Go Pikachu!, Lets Go Eevee! and Pokémon Sword & Shield can all be stored here.

A key criticism of HOME is that if you really want to use the full breadth of it and if youre a hardcore Pokémon player, theres a good chance that youll have to pay for the Premium plan which allows you to store up to 6,000 Pokémon. A 30-day subscription will cost you $2.69 while a full year will put you $14.39 out of pocket.

Sinnoh Remakes And Let’s Go Johto

The first theory is fairly inescapable online: Sinnoh remakes. Ever since Game Boy Advance’s Pokémon Fire Red and Leaf Green, each Nintendo handheld has gotten a full remake of a past Pokémon generation. The Nintendo DS got HeartGold and SoulSilver and the 3DS got Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, so naturally it’s time to revisit Diamond & Pearl. Considering this trend as well as the intense fan speculation and desire, Sinnoh remakes in 2021 seem like a safe bet.

At the same time, 2018’s Pokémon Lets Go Pikachu and Eevee have invited speculation about a potential Johto release that re-imagines Gold and Silver. With only one Let’s Go title, it’s unclear whether such a sequel will come to fruition. Considering that Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee clearly ran on a modified 3DS engine with heavy Pokémon Go integration, the games may have just been a stopgap to get Pokémon on the Switch prior to Sword and Shield. Still, with how creative and refreshing the Let’s Go titles were, Game Freak may want to recreate that nostalgia-driven, casual fun in the Johto region.

At this point, everything is speculative until an official announcement. However, with the high Pokémon sales figures and potent franchise excitement, it’s unlikely that the community will have to wait long to hear what’s coming next.

Dragon Quest Heroes 1 And 2

What’s Next After Pokemon Sun and Moon?! – My Future Predictions!

    Release date: TBCGenre: Hack-n-slash

Dynasty Warriors, with its endless procession of idiot enemy fodder whose only goal is to give your attack button a workout, is certainly divisive. But whatever your stance on the series is, there’s no denying that Koei Tecmo’s spin-offs, which include the Zelda-inspired Hyrule Warriors, show that the series’ button-mashing formula still has room for experimentation. Dragon Quest Heroes heroes was a surprisingly delightful take on the musou genre, taking the series’ classic RPG framework and dressing it around real-time action combat and monster collection. This combo will include the entire first game along with its sequel, meaning you’ll get to spend hundreds of hours slicing through slimes at home or on the go.

    Pokmon Legends Arceus Trailers

    Diamond and Pearl clans

Nintendo’s Twitter accounts posted a trailer showcasing some new features that tie into the recently released Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl remakes. Pokémon Legends Arceus will feature the Diamond Clan and the Pearl Clan, two rivalling groups who have conflicting opinions on a deity known as Sinnoh, assumedly named after the region the game takes place in.

The main two figures here look to be Adaman of the Diamond Clan and Irida of the Pearl Clan, and judging by the trailer, both groups will play in integral role in the overarching story.

The trailer finishes with a look at a third group, the Gingko Guild, merchants who’ll you encounter across your journey. You can even buy various items such as berries from them. As such, frequent visits to these merchants are likely crucial to getting by in the new open world.

    New Hisuian Pokémon forms

A brand new trailer for the game released in October shows two new Hisuian Pokémon forms: Zorua and Zoroark. Zorua is a Ghost/Normal type, known as the Spiteful Fox Pokémon.

According to an official description, Zorua migrated to the Hisui region after being driven from other lands by humans, who shunned the Pokémon for manifesting uncanny illusions. But the Zorua perished, unable to survive the harsh Hisuian environment and strife with other Pokémon. Their lingering souls were reborn in this Ghost-type form through the power of their malice toward humans and Pokémon.

Pokmon Legends Arceus: Pokmon Confirmed So Far

Pokémon Legends: Arceus will task players with filling one of the region’s first Pokédexes so it’s natural to wonder which Pokémon we’re going to be chasing down in the game. There’s no comprehensive official list just yet but thanks to our friends at GamesRadar, we do have a list of the twenty Pokémon that appeared in the game’s announcement trailer as well as some more that have since been confirmed.

    • Pikachu
    • Hisuian Zoroark
    • Hisuian Voltorb

That’s quite a few so far. Given the game is set in the Sinnoh region, it’s not entirely surprising that there are a lot of Generation 4 Pokémon in that list and it seems reasonable to assume that their evolutionary forms will also probably be present in the game.

We expect that in the run-up to the game’s release, Nintendo and Game Freak will confirm more of the Pokémon that we can expect to see in Pokémon Legends: Arceus so we’ll keep updating this list as and when they’re revealed.

    Release Date: November 16th 2018

    What

Yet another remake, coming in at second place, is Pokémon: Lets Go Pikachu! and Lets Go Eevee!, a remake of Pokémon Yellow. These games are unique because theyre made to be a good entry point for new fans as well as older fans who played the original back in 1998.

The return to Kanto did its job in providing nostalgia for the original fans. Fans and critics alike applauded the capture system and Pikachu and Eevee as protagonists.

What Pokmon Games Are Coming In 2021

Pokémon fans are likely excited to see what video games the new year will bring, and there are a few titles that could already be on the way for 2021.

As the new year begins, many Pokémon fans may be wondering what new games they can expect to see from Game Freak in 2021. Last year, players were given a mix of content to explore, including DLC expansions for Pokémon Sword and Shield, as well as the release of Pokémon Home, Pokémon Café Mix, and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX. While 2020 was busy for the Pokémon series, it appears the new year may be just as promising for fans.

Currently, there is widespread speculation regarding a potential remake of the 2006 main series games, Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. While nothing has been confirmed by developers, leaks and rumors of a Diamond and Pearl remake have been consistently surfacing on the internet that point towards the games being a part of Game Freak’s 2021 lineup. If these Diamond and Pearl remakes are real and are anything like the remakes of Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire, then fans will have plenty to look forward to.

Pokmon Legends Arceus: News And Rumors

    Hisuian Voltorb

Another new Hisuian form has been revealed ahead of the release of Pokémon Legends: Arceus. It’s Voltorb! A brief clip of Hisuian Voltorb was shared by the official Pokémon Twitter account.

Hello friends! Its Ball Guy again!Thank you for getting back my Poké Ball collection! As promised, I will show you what was hiding in all those Poké BallsHisuian Voltorb! pic.twitter.com/TOAUG3tEum

This pokémon is a little different from its original variant, being a grass/electric-type rather than just an electric-type. This is because it’s a little more inspired by the wooden pokéballs used in the historical Hisui region. According to the game’s official site it’s a friendly pokémon that stores seeds inside its body. Though it can accidentally discharge electricity at the “slightest provocation” so it’s considered something of a nuisance.

Seems to be in a playable state?

It looks like Pokémon Legends Arceus is in a playable state, if long-time Nintendo fan Christina Aguilera is to be believed. In an interview with Elle, Aguilera discussed a recent campaign shes done with Nintendo for the Switch and revealed that while filming, her “daughter was able to fall in love with a new game. We had a brief moment to Pokemon Legends: Arceus.” Aguilera went on to say, “It’s so gorgeous, the graphics and the setting that you get to explore in, so she was loving that so much, she wouldn’t give me a turn.” Thats a pretty ringing endorsement.
