Other than trading with a Lucky Friend, there is another situation where a Lucky Trade is guaranteed, introduced as a promotion to get lapsed players back into the game. The requirement are quite strict:
- One of the Pokémon being traded must have been caught during July or August 2016
- The Trainer sending the guaranteed Lucky Pokémon must have been involved in fewer than 10 trades where at least one party was guaranteed.
- The Trainer receiving the Lucky Pokémon does not affect this trade, though it will increase their own count of guaranteed Lucky Trades.
- It is currently unknown if Lucky Trades from being Lucky Friends impact this count, but there have been reports that they do.

Go for walks! No, really, now that you have a designated Buddy you should go on strolls. Similar to egg-hatching, you can gain Candy for your buddy the more kilometers you rack up. Interestingly, different Pokemon require you walk different distances. For example, you need to walk 3 kilometers before you get a Candy for Slowpoke. You only get one candy after walking that specific distance, though.You can find out more about your Buddy’s progress by tapping the Trainer profile icon, then tapping the top of the screen, where your Trainer and Buddy are hanging out. Before you use a TM on any Pokémon, you should always check to see if the move you’re changing is a Legacy Move and if that move is worth having. More recently, Niantic introduced Elite TMs. These TMs are rare, and often difficult to get or expensive, but allow you to choose from any move a Pokémon can have, including Legacy Moves. They aren’t random either. You get to choose the move. Because of how hard it is to get Elite TMs, you’ll want to save them for your very best Pokémon, but hey, now you can have a Mewtwo with Shadow Ball and Psystrike!

Before you can participate in a raid, you need to have either a Raid Pass or a Remote Raid Pass. The former lets you join the raid while you’re physically at the gym, while the latter lets you join the battle remotely. There is, however, a slight disadvantage to this; players who join a raid remotely will deal less damage than those who are physically at the gym.
There are a few ways to get your hands on Raid Passes. You can receive a free one when you spin the photo disc at a Gym; however, you can only hold one free Raid Pass in your inventory at a time. Introduced with the first Raids were TMs, special items that allow you to change your Pokémon’s moves – or more specifically “reroll” your Pokémon’s moves, seeing as it’s decided at random when you use one.
Using a TM on a Pokémon will randomly reselect one of its moves, with a Fast TM giving you a different fast move and a Charge TM a different Charge move. You’re guaranteed to get a different move each time you use a TM, but of course you can only get a move that said Pokémon can learn in the first place. You’re not going to get Hyper Beam on that Weedle any time soon .
How to get TMs in Pokémon Go
There’s just the one reliable way to earn TMs in Pokémon Go at the moment: raiding. Completing a raid, of any kind, will earn you a chance at being rewarded with Fast and Charge TMs. You don’t get many though, and you don’t get them very often at all, so use them wisely when you do.
There are other less reliable sources however, namely the occasional piece of Field Research and Special Research tasks that offer them as rewards, but if you want to reliably keep stocks high, raiding is the way to go.
We advise you save them for the most powerful Pokémon you have, that you’ll be using a lot, and that have very high IVs, too. That way you know they’re not going to be rendered obsolete when you catch a better version down the line!
What Are The Best Movesets To Change With Tms In Pokmon Go
If Raid Battles are your things and you want to beat the Raid Bosses, these are the Pokémon you want to use your TMs on and the Fast Moves and Charged Moves you want to get. They’re all single Fast TM or single Charged TM safe, which means you’re guaranteed to get something better than you have. While there are “best movesets” for every Pokémon out there, there are plenty of exceptions and special cases. We’ve got the best movesets here but you might find other movesets are useful too.
Note: before changing any move, double-check to make sure you do not have a Legacy Move. A Legacy Move is one that is no longer available in a Pokémon’s pool of Moves. Sometimes a Move is removed during an update, and sometimes it was only available for Community Day or Special Raids. While some Legacy Moves are less useful or even outright bad, some of them are outstanding, and some players collect Legacy Move Pokémon.
