Not the cutest Pokémon in the world, but a real goal for the most avid collectors out there: getting all 28 is near-impossible, but we’ll be damned if we’re not going to try. Right now, however, even less committed players have a chance to grab the ultra-rare creature. Here’s how to get your very unown, with hatch rates and how to find it in the wild.
I myself have a ton of Unown, but that’s because I am, as I have noted here before, very special.
Pokémon GO just started the first week of “ultra bonuses”, which are big drops of special spawns and such that we earned through completing research tasks over the summer. For many people, the biggest announcement will be that Unown will be hatching from 10 km eggs in 5 forms: U-L-T-R-A. The announcement is pretty clear that these are rare spawns, and as usual the community has done some crowdsourcing to figure out just how rare. Note that this is early anecdotal information, and so it’s liable to change a little bit as we start hatching some more Unown. But there are a ton of people on the Silph Road subreddit, and even early info gives you a pretty good idea of what the actual rates are.

The only way to get these current special Unown spawns is through this ticket and is inaccessible to other players. Players in Mexico are able to get their ticket code through 7-Eleven Mexico while Japanese players can get their ticket code through Yoshinoya.

Q Is Unown The Worst Pokemon
While it seems that Unown is a good candidate for potentially the worst Pokemon, there are many others that have even lower total stat values. There are a lot of things to consider for what makes a good Pokemon, involving movesets, total stat values, typing, and other unique abilities. Smeargle is also a much lower stat Pokemon, but due to its unique abilities and potential advantages, saw much more competitive play. Ditto technically has lower stat values, but we all know what Dittos role is. A male Combee has better movesets, but almost half the total stat values. Of course, there are other Pokemon that can evolve into stronger stat totals and better movesets, but Unown is likely not the worst Pokemon in the game.
Pokemon Go: Catching Shiny Unown U During The Ultra Unlock Event
Since Unown U will be appearing as a raid boss for the first part of Ultra Unlock, this presents Pokemon GO players with a great opportunity to possibly catch its shiny form. The event begins in earnest on July 23, 2021 at 10:00am until August 3, 2021 at 8:00pm local time.
At the moment, and according to Niantics announcement, it is unclear if Unown U will be catchable in other ways during the event. With that being said, players will need to focus on raiding Unown U in order to have the chance of acquiring its shiny form.
Since there is no way to guarantee obtaining a shiny, players will just need to keep raiding and beating Unown U in gyms across the Pokemon GO map until its shiny form presents itself after battle.
In order to defeat this raid boss quickly, trainers will want to use Pokemon proficient with Bug-, Dark-, and Ghost-type attacks. Since Unown is weak to these elements, theyll assist in dealing extra damage and taking it out quickly, since its a Psychic-type Pokemon. Bringing a friend or two along for the fight can speed things up even more.
When finding this particular shiny, it just becomes a matter of lather, rinse, repeat. Be sure to stock up on plenty of raid passes and keep battering Unown U with all your battle party can muster.

Trainers, Niantic and Pokemon Go compensate for the Shiny Unown issue that occurred on August 3, and August 4, 2021.
Back on August 3, and August 4, 2021, Unown U and its Shiny form were available from Raids, but sadly, players were not able to catch it.
Now, as announced by Niantic, players who participated in an Unown Raid on August 3, and August 4, will get a free box in the Shop. The free box will be available to claim until September 27, 2021.

Which Letters Of The Unown Alphabet Are Available In Pokmon Go
All 28 letters of the Unown Alphabet are currently available in Pokémon GO including those corresponding with letters A through Z, and exclamation and question mark variants.
However, even at events, the boosted spawn rates apply only to a selection of variants . These usually spell out things like:

This is required to get the boosted spawn rates of these two very rare Pokémon. Once you have the ticket theres still one more step you need to complete before Unown F and Unown G will start spawning for you: activate an Incense. Shiny Unown F and Shiny Unown G will basically require an active Incense in order to appear, so try to have it active throughout the event. Incense will also feature boosted spawn rates of other Pokémon, so you still need to get lucky just to see an Unown of any kind. However, Unown F and Unown G will be boosted by it no matter what time, as long as it is during GO Fest. So keep it active as much as you can while you play and be sure to check every Unown that spawns. It may end up being Shiny Unown F or Shiny Unown G, but you will need to have the Incense active and check them to be sure.
