As Eevee is the star of the , its time to plan what evolutions you want for your killer collection. But all Eevee evolutions are not created equal.
Each of Eevees eight evolutions has different stats and weaknesses. Knowing these will help you choose what to keep from your mega Community Day haul.
All eight ‘Eeveelutions’ are now available in Pokémon GO: Sylveon, Umbreon, Espeon, Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Leafeon and Glaceon.
In the “classic” Pokémon games, this particular monster is able to evolve into different types depending on what special items you have, its happiness level, the moves it has unlocked and the time of day. Thankfully you don’t have to jump through those kinds of hoops in Pokémon GO.
Instead, you can simply rename your Eevee to one of eight different names to guarantee a particular evolution, or employ some other tricks to get your desired Eevee evolution. There are a few caveats, but these methods definitely work.
How To Evolve Eevee Into Espeon And Umbreon
Espeon and Umbreon do have a secondary means of securing their evolutions, though it takes a little more effort than a simple name change or purchasing a Lure Module.
This method is probably the most involved of all but if your heart is set then itll be worth it. For these Generation 2 evolutions, you have to set your Eevee as your buddy and have it walk with you for 10km in order to earn two candies .
Once thats done, you can evolve your Eevee, but the time of day shown in-game will determine which of the evolutions you get. Evolve Eevee during the day and youll get the Psychic-type Espeon. At night, on the other hand, youll get the Dark-type Umbreon.
This trick can be somewhat finicky, so do make sure that Eevee is still your buddy when you evolve it and ensure that you have GPS signal so that the game has the time of day absolutely right where you are. Fortunately, this isnt limited like the nicknames so you can do it as often as you like .
How Do You Evolve Sylveon In Pokemon Go
Sylveon, Eevee’s Fairy type evolution, has finally made its Pokemon Go debut. The next and final Eeveelution was unlocked on May 25, 2021.
In the core games, Sylveon has had two different means of evolution, Affection in the Pokemon X and Y, and Friendship combined with a Fairy type move in Pokemon Sword and Shield. Since neither mechanic exists in Pokemon Go, Niantic is instead using Pokemon Go Buddy Adventure in order to evolve Sylveon. Trainers must earn 70 hearts with Eevee as their Buddy Pokemon to evolve a Sylveon!

You’re gonna need a Glacial Lure or a Mossy Lure to get these monsters in Pokemon GO. Until there’s a steel or rock-type Eevee in the game, the Magnetic Lure has NO EFFECT on Eevee as far as we know. But the Glacial Lure or Mossy Lure, you’re in luck!
Just so long as you’re in the radius of a Pokestop that’s fitted with a Glacial Lure or Mossy Lure, your evolution will be Leafeon or Glaceon. This is slightly different from what’s been reported in the past it does not matter if you were the person to place the lure!
Apparently and we need to test this further to be absolutely sure you can evolve as many Eevee as you want into either Leafeon or Glaceon so long as you’re inside the radius of their respective lure. The Buddy Hearts Method
If youve already used the naming method before but desire another Sylveon, there is a second method you can use. You will still need 25 Eevee Candy to evolve the Pokémon. In addition, you will need to become Great Buddies with your Eevee. You can do this by assigning Eevee as your Buddy and earning 70 Buddy hearts with it. Buddy hearts can be earned by feeding your Buddy berries, taking snapshots of your Buddy, petting your Buddy, and battling with them. Note that swapping your Buddy out will not restart your progress towards Sylveon, so feel free to change your Buddy at any time during this process.

Eevee Evolution is meant to be a random process in Pokemon Go. Once you press evolve on an Eevee, you have a random chance of getting one of the original three eeveelutions. The others can be obtained through other means, all of which require a bit of effort. There’s also some useful shortcuts and cheats of a sort to get around the random factor. We’ll detail all of that below.
There’s seven Eevee Evolutions in the game so far. Vaporeon, Jolteon and Flareon from generation 1 are completely down to random chance. Umbreon and Espeon from generation 2 and Leafeon and Glaceon from generation 3 are obtained in specific ways. The final Eevee Evolution is Sylveon, from generation 6, and it was finally added to the game in May 2021.

What Does Eevee Evolve Into In Pokmon Go
When Pokémon was first released Eevee only had three evolutions: Vaporeon, Jolteon and Flareon were one of the original 150 Pokémon that debuted in Pokémon Red and Blue in 1996. However, as the years have gone by and more games have come out, more evolutions for the popular Eevee have been released, bringing the grand total of possible evolutions up to seven, more than any other Pokémon.

How To Evolve Umbreon & Espeon In Pokemon Go
Unlike the previous evolutions, however, Umbreon and Espeon dont evolve from Eevee at random, requiring specific actions to get them.
- Espeon: For the Psychic-type, youll need to make Eevee your Buddy and walk 10km with them. After this, the mons Evolve button should show the silhouette of Espeon during the day.
- Umbreon: This method is almost identical for Umbreon, except you need to evolve the Pokemon at night.
The Main Way To Get Jolteon
If youre looking for another Jolteon after using the naming trick already, unfortunately, things get quite awkward to manage here.
The main way of evolving Eevee into Jolteon is simply to hit the natural evolution button unfortunately, this is random and can potentially put out Flareon or Vaporeon instead of Jolteon.
On the upside, this method can be repeated as many times as you have Eevees up all the way until you get what you want, but there is no way to influence it towards becoming Jolteon beyond simply using the naming trick listed above once.
The random evolution is also quite cheap at only 25 candies each, so as long as you have a few good Eevees to evolve, youll quite likely get what you want from it.

How To Evolve Vaporeon Jolteon And Flareon In Pokmon Go

You can get Vaporeon, Jolteon, and Flareon by using the name trick method or by using the Buddy Pokémon evolution method.
Evolving a random Eevee willl produce either Vaporeon, Jolteon or Flareon at random. You cant get any other Eevee evolution from pressing the Evolve button. It costs 25 Candy and it does not matter whether the naming trick has already been used or not.
More Eevee Evolution Tips And Tricks
At this point, you should be well-equipped to evolve your Eevee. But there are a few things that you should take note of:
- Make sure you use your best Eevee . You can check the IVs using third-party apps or you can appraise the Pokémon in the app itself. We recommend only evolving three-star Pokémon, but sometimes even a two-star Eevee can turn into a powerful gym defender, especially if you evolve it into Vaporeon which has a naturally high CP.
- Patient players may want to wait until theyre higher level so they can obtain stronger Eevee with higher CP to evolve. That way you spend less time, candy, and stardust making your evolutions powerful.

So, now that you have all the candy you need, how do you evolve Eevee? You can simply tap the evolve button to get a random Eevee evolution. However, if you want to get Flareon, Jolteon, Vaporeon, Leafeon, Glaceon, Espeon or Umbreon specifically, you can use this simple trick. Rename your Eevee before evolving it using these nicknames:
- Rainer for the Vaporeon evolution
- Pyro for the Flareon evolution
- Sparky for the Jolteon evolution

- Linnea for the Leafeon evolution

Its important to note that you can only use nicknames for your desired evolution once. Every following one will be random, so make sure you only use Eevees with a high CP and IVs. You should also know that Sylveon is not available in Pokémon Go yet.
Are there any other ways to guarantee certain Eevee evolutions in Pokémon Go? Unfortunately, the answer is no for Jolteon, Vaporeon, and Flareon. But the good news is that the same doesnt apply for the rest of the gang. Espeon and Umbreon can be acquired by walking with Eevee as your buddy. Once youve walked 10 km together, you can evolve it during the day for Espeon or at night for Umbreon.
Requirements To Get Jolteon
Evolving an Eevee into a Jolteon is simple and only requires you to give an Eevee 25 Eevee candy. Though if you arent using the nickname trick, or have already used it to get a Jolteon then you might want to collect more.
Being a normal type, Eevee are relatively common and can appear anywhere. They dont have special areas they appear in like Fire or Electric types so search for Eevee wherever you like.

Why You May Want To Get Sylveon
Strictly in terms of stats, Sylveon is not considered to be one of the best Pokémon. That said, it is one of the better Eeveelutions. If youre only concern is stats, though, Umbreon is the better choice in essentially every way. Sylveon is most like Togekiss, though Togekiss also exceeds Sylveons stats. However, as a Fairy-type, Sylveon can still take down some Dragon and Fighting-type Pokémon.
You may also want to get Sylveon if youre looking to complete your Pokédex. Part of Pokémon GOs charm is the way it encourages players to go out and catch em all. However, you cant simply catch a Sylveon out in the wild.

To get a Sylveon in Pokémon GO, youll first need to catch an Eevee. Eevees can evolve into eight different Pokemon: Sylveon, Leafeon, Glaceon, Umbreon, Espeon, Vaporeon, Jolteon, and Flareon. Luckily, there are tricks you can use to ensure that your Eevee will evolve into the specific Eeveelution you desire. But first, you must catch an Eevee.
Though there really isnt a specific trick to catching Eevees, they tend to be littered throughout the wild. Eevees are most common in partly cloudy weather, so youll want to go out to search for one when those conditions are met. Incense can be used to lure more Pokémon and thus raise your chance of catching an Eevee. Additionally, you can use Razz Berries to lower the chance that it will flee.
How To Evolve Eevee To Espeon Or Umbreon
It’s not clear whether the newer Pokemon always evolve into their nicknamed evolutions of Eevee more than once, that is. To make sure you get either Espeon or Umbreon, you’ll need to get to walking!
Espeon and Umbreon can be attained multiple times through the same means of evolution. You’ll find an Eevee, make that Eevee your buddy Pokemon, and walk that buddy 10km or more. What Community Day Moves Do The Eevee Evolutions Learn
When evolved any time from Aug. 13 at 1 p.m. until Aug. 16 at 1 p.m. EDT, your Eevee evolution will learn the following:
- Vaporeon: Scald
- Glaceon: Water Pulse
- Sylveon: Psyshock
In addition to this, any Eevee caught or hatched during the event will learn Last Resort.
Based on past years, if you miss the Community Day period, youll likely be able to evolve your Eevee during the December Community Weekend event to get its respective move. You can also use an Elite TM to teach legacy Community Day-only moves.

How Do I Find A Shiny Eevee
Community Day events have a heightened Shiny rate for the featured Pokémon, so if youre playing, you should be able to find several Shiny Eevee. If you dont have time to play all day, you can find a Shiny Eevee by popping an Incense, and tapping each Eevee that pops up. The Shiny rate on Community Days is approximately 1 in 25, according to The Silph Roads research, so you should find a Shiny Eevee quickly.
