Pokemon Sword and Shield: Isle of Armor

The only new Pokémon in the Isle of Armor DLC for Sword and Shield is Galarian Slowpoke and its evolution, Slowbro.

While Sword and Shield players already had access to Galarian Slowpoke when The Isle of Armor DLC was announced earlier this year, they were unable to evolve it. A special item is needed to evolve Galarian Slowpoke into Galarian Slowbro and now that The Isle of Armor is accessible, so is this item.

Read on to learn how to evolve Galarian Slowpoke into Slowbro and how to find the items needed.

HOW TO EVOLVE GALARIAN SLOWPOKE INTO SLOWBRO

Galarian Slowpoke can only evolve into Galarian Slowbro through a special item called the Galarica Cuff. This item acts like an evolution stone where you’ll need to use it on your Galarian Slowpoke to cause its evolution.

However, you’ll need to find Galarica Twigs in order to obtain this special item.

HOW TO GET ITEMS NEEDED TO EVOLVE SLOWPOKE INTO SLOWBRO

Trainers will need to find eight Galarica Twigs that are scattered throughout the Isle of Armor.

These twigs are presented as hidden items on the base of trees around the island. If you need a refresher, Hidden items are the glowing specs on the ground that can be picked up by standing next to it and pressing the A button.

On this island there is a non-playable character there who you’ll need to speak to. If you have a Galarian Slowpoke on your team when you speak to her, you’ll receive a customization item for your trainer.

Youll need to collect lots of Galarica Twigs.

The Isle of Armor expansion for Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield included lots of new Pokemon for players to add to their collections. One of these was Galarian Slowpoke.

Galarian Slowpoke has two possible evolutions Galarian Slowbro and Galarian Slowking but when The Isle of Armor expansion was released, only Galarian Slowbro was available to collect. Now that The Crown Tundra expansion is available, Galarian Slowking can finally be collected as well.

Heres how!

As reported by Polygon, in order to evolve Galarian Slowpoke into Galarian Slowking, youll need to collect 15 Galarica Twigs and talk to a specific person near the Frigid Sea in order to have them transformed into a Galarica Wreath.

Galarica Twigs are the same items you need to collect to create a Galarica Cuff, the item necessary for evolving Galarian Slowpoke into Galarian Slowbro. You can find Galarica Twigs at random by interacting with the sparkling objects found on the ground all around the Crown Tundra and Isle of Armor.

Once you have 15 Galarica Twigs, head to the Frigid Sea. As Polygon reported, if you travel down the river near the entrance to the Roaring-Sea Caves, youll eventually find an isolated portion of the cave that contains a large room and the woman you need to talk to.

Talk to the woman, and shell offer to make you a Galarica Wreath in exchange for 15 Galarica Twigs. Select Yes to complete this process.

How To Evolve Galarian Slowpoke In Pokemon Sword & Shield

To evolve Galarian Slowpoke, players will need to have purchased the Pokemon Sword & Shield Expansion Pass. It has been stated that players will be able to find an item to evolve Galarian Slowpoke while playing through the Isle of Armor and the Crown Tundra. The Isle of Armor will give the player an item to get Galarian Slowbro while the Crown Tundra will give the player the item to get Galarian Slowking. While it is currently unknown how players can get these items in the DLC, the game sets it up so getting the item won’t be too difficult. More information is set to release this June.

Pokemon Sword & Shield is one of the best selling Pokemon titles to date, regardless of the controversy surrounding it. Players were upset to find that not every Pokemon would be available in the game. Although with the upcoming DLC, players will be able to bring over 200 older Pokemon from Pokemon Home. This brings the grand total of available Pokemon to over 600. Movements have taken place online such as #BringBackNationalDex. While the conversation around this has died down, it will likely return in the near future when the first part of the DLC releases.

Pokemon Sword & Shield are available now on Nintendo Switch.

How To Evolve Galarian Slowpoke Into Slowbro In Pokemon Sword & Shield

Evolving Galarian Slowpoke into Galarian Slowbro is, thankfully, an easy task that shouldnt be any trouble at all. First, the player has to make Galarian Slowpoke their buddy. After that, they just need to start catching Poison-type Pokemon. Once the player catches 30 of them, the Pokemon will evolve into Galarian Slowbro.

For anyone who isnt sure where to look for Poison-types, they typically appear in wet areas. These can range anywhere from lakes to marshes. Players may have to deal with several water-type encounters, but eventually they should find a few Poison-types. These Pokemon can also be found in cities and industrial areas occasionally.

Slowbro fans are going to be really happy this month, because Mega Slowbro will be available too. This Pokemon will appear as a Mega Raid boss from June 8th onwards. This will be good news for anyone who misses Water-type Slowbro.

Unfortunately, players will have a hard time evolving it into Galarian Slowking, as they cant at the moment. Galarian Slowbro is currently the only available evolution for Galarian Slowpoke. This might be similar to Pokemon Sword and Shield, where Galarian Slowbro was in the Isle of Armor DLC, but players had to wait for the Crown Tundra to get Galarian Slowking. Galarian Slowking will most likely be available in the near future.

There is one final evolution for standard Slowpoke which is its Mega Slowbro form. This form can be used to take on raid bosses, providing a significant boost in power and resulting in an above average fighter despite being one of the weaker Mega Evolutions. In order to evolve a Mega Slowbro in Pokemon GO, trainers will need to accrue Mega Energy that is normally collected after beating the appropriate Pokemon as a raid boss. This means Mega Slowbro Energy is likely to be scarce due to the rotation of raid bosses, so Pokemon GO players should stock up as much as possible for when they need it most.
