How To Sell Graded Pokemon Cards

Who Is The Best Pokemon Grading Company In The Uk

I Graded 100 Pokemon Cards to Find a PERFECT 10!

Ive spent a considerable amount of time and money grading cards with as many of the new UK grading companies as I could.

I wanted to get a feel for:

  • Customer Service How good their communication was, and their ability to solve customer problems
  • Grading consistency How accurately they kept to their own grading standards
  • Grading Transparency Why a card got the Grade it did
  • Slab and label design How much thought has gone into the design process
  • Turnaround times Did they stick to the times they advertised
  • Resale Values Despite being new to the market, do they have the potential to add value to your cards

After much deliberation, my number one recommended UK Pokemon card grading company is

*Drumroll please*

Tree Frog Grading

and these are the reasons

  • They give subgrades and even a grading report this means there is full transparency as to why a card got the grade it did
  • They have two tiers of their 10 grade an ALPHA 10 is the equivalent of Becketts Black Label cards or CGCs Pristine 10s. These so-called perfect cards add an extra layer of rarity, thus increasing their potential value
  • Their slab designs are understated, yet classy its all about the card, not the slab, and I feel that other grading companies have failed to realise this
  • Communication was good and turnaround times were met thats all you can ask for really!
  • Im sending my cards to Tree Frog Grading, and I think fellow collectors would be happy with the results should they do the same

Where To Sell Pokmon Cards And Get The Most Money

Listing your childhood toys for sale online is a good idea if youre trying to make money today. One example that can make you thousands of dollars involves knowing where to sell Pokémon cards because fans still love to collect them.

If you still have your cards from the 1990s, you could be sitting on a gold mine. While you most likely wont become a multimillionaire by selling these cards, its a great way to improve your finances and make some cash.

Were going to outline all you need to know to ensure that you can sell these cards to the highest bidder.

Super Secret Battle No 1 Trainer

The answer to “What’s the rarest Pokémon card of all time?”

Sold for $90,000 in July 2020

Its unlikely youve heard of Super Secret Battle No. 1 Trainer, and extremely unlikely youve ever seen a copy in person. When it comes to rare Pokémon cards, there are very few cards rarer than this.

No. 1 Trainer is a holographic promotional card awarded to finalists in the Secret Super Battle tournament held in Tokyo, Japan in 1999. To earn a place in the competitions finals, which were held in a secret location, players had to first win a regional tournament. Their prize was the No. 1 Trainer card, which granted them access to the finals.

The cards text translates to: The Pokémon Card Game Official Tournament’s champion is recognised here, and this honour is praised. By presenting this card, you may gain preferential entry into the Secret Super Battle. The card features the Japanese logo for the Pocket Monsters Trading Card Game, along with artwork of original generation Pokémon Mewtwo by illustrator Hideki Kazama.

This is a card so rare and valuable that Indiana Jones probably had to escape a crumbling temple with it at some point. Its 1999 counterpart cards No. 2 Trainer and No. 3 Trainer, similarly awarded to winners in Japanese Pokémon tournaments during the late 1990s, are almost as rare and valuable.

    Why Invest In Pokmon

    PSA Graded 9 & 10 Pokemon cards Charizard/Zapdos/Mew/Mewtwo, Toys ...

Pokémon cards are the premier non-sports cards to invest in today. The original 1999-2000 sets have been on an upward trajectory for over 5 years, with 2020 being the mega increase, thus creating a cultural demand similar to the 1999 release.

High-End Pokémon cards are being viewed as modern art, with the price tag for a pristine 1st Edition Base Charizard currently at $433,000.00 and climbing if you can get one. Due to correlations to Magic the Gathering, the prices today could increase steadily over the next 5 years. Outside of the economy crashing, Pokémon would seem to be a safe play.

Demand for original cards has consistently increased since 2010, but due to awareness, and points mentioned previously, there has been a fearlessness from buyers to set records. All year, record sale after record sale for high-end Pokémon Cards. The fear of missing out on todays price is real.

How To Submit Your Pokemon Cards For Grading

To ensure the safety and integrity of your cards condition, its recommended you submit your cards in the following way:

    1. Put your card in a penny sleeve

    2. Attach a post-it tag to the penny sleeve so its easy to pull out

    3. Finally, put the penny sleeved card inside of a semi-rigid card holder

Important! Do not send cards in a toploader. The card can easily move around and may get damaged.

    Pay Attention To Fees

Nothing crushes your potential selling profits faster than fees. Its why a number of experienced sellers avoid some of the bigger platforms in favor of niche selling on Facebook once theyve learned the ropes and built a database of fellow collectors over the years. As a beginner seller, or someone who just wants to quickly offload a collection, eBay or Mercari may be your best bet, but it still doesnt hurt to be cautionary about listing upsells.

Bold font. Second category listing. Subtitles. Disproportional promotion campaigns . Theyre all upsells some of the larger companies will offer to pad their bottom line. In some select circumstances, it may be beneficial to use them, but by and large, youre better off passing on all of it and focusing on a great listing with superb photos and a clean, keyword-rich card description.

Pokmon World Championships No 1 Trainer

Every copy of this rare and valuable promo card is one-of-a-kind

Sold for $31,200 in April 2021

The first of two rare and valuable Pokémon cards called No. 1 Trainer on this list, this particular card was awarded to winners of the regional Battle Road Spring tournaments held in Japan during early 2002.

The regional tournaments were held as qualifiers for the Pokémon World Championships, with the small number of No. 1 Trainer cards produced for the few winners making them some of the rarest Pokémon cards in existence.

Adding to the card’s rarity is the fact that each No. 1 Trainer card was customised with the name of the tournament winner printed onto the card, making each card one-of-a-kind. According to auction house Heritage Auctions, the personalised aspect of the cards also mean that they rarely appear at auction, making them an even rarer sight in the world of Pokémon cards.

The 2002 No. 1 Trainer card was illustrated by Ken Sugimori, best known as being one of the original artists and designers for Pokémon’s first generation of 151 Pokémon. The text on it reads: “The Pokémon Card Game Official Tournament Battle Road Spring 2002 champion is recognised here, and his honour is praised.” Sugimori’s No. 1 Trainer artwork – featuring fan-favourite Pokémon such as Pikachu, Chansey and Marrill – is exclusive to the card, making it especially unique.

    Sell Pokmon Cards On Ebay

I Graded My Prototype $10,000 Pokemon Card

eBay is usually seen as risky and, at most times, a market full of inferior quality products. However, this online market is perhaps one of the best ways to sell rare cards.

eBay offers a range of buying and selling options for cards. eBays bidding option is probably the best way to sell your cards, with eBay giving you the option to set a minimum price threshold for bids.

Although selling cards with the websites buy it now function is also an effective way of selling, rarer cards are better suited to auctions. Collectors in their droves use eBay to fill out their collections therefore, the online market is a collectors paradise. Thus, getting a high sell on your beloved cards should not be a problem under bidding rules.

Similarly, it is also recommended to use eBay if you are selling your cards in bulk, as the website makes it simple to sell a large number of cards in a cost-effective and streamlined way.

Notable examples of cards sold on eBay include a first edition shadowless Charizard, which sold for over $300,000, with other graded rare first edition cards selling for over $1000.
