The absolute highest value cards in this set are both Charizards, one being a rainbow foil V-Max card and the other being a shiny Charizard V with black scales. Both quickly reached prices around $500, and sites like TCGPlayer still remain at the same $500 price tag.

The Masked Royal Prize Promo: $18000

This is undoubtedly one of the most recent rare cards, featuring the Masked Royal character from Pokemon Sun & Moon and released as recently as 2017. This is essentially a promotional card that was given out to players in an invitation-only prerelease in Tokyo for the new Shining Legends set, where only 100 copies were made.

Even though this is a relatively normal card by most standards, this short print run means its incredibly hard to get, especially since it was handed out in such a restrictive event. As a result, there are actually preserved tweets of players first opening it in places like Pokeboon, while Japanese trading sites like Miyabi Hobby have past listings of the card at ¥2,000,000, which currently is equal to around $18,000 USD.

    Pokemon Celebrations 2nd Wave

Like the Pokemon Evolutions& Generations 20th anniversary sets, Celebrations will be released in several waves. Given that this set marks Pokemons 25th anniversary, it will likely be overprinted in the upcoming waves, creating an overabundance of cards in the secondary market . In fact, according to several people from the Pokemon TCG subreddit, many major retailers across the U.S. are already seeing large restocks of the product. The 2nd wave will officially arrive during the 2021 holiday season, with additional waves landing in early 2022.

Find The Year Your Pokemon Card Was Made

Look at the bottom of the card and find the year it was printed. Thats the first key indicator when identifying your card.

For example, the Base Set Pokémon Cards have 4 different print runs while looking almost identical each time. Of those sets, the UK 4th Print Base Set identifies as 1999-2000, which is the key indicator to separate those cards from the rest.

Why Is Meowth The Only Pokmon Who Can Talk

Most Pokémon can only say their own name, so what makes Team Rockets Meowth different?

In the world of Pokémon, most creatures speak using only their name. Some Pokémon, like Pikachu, have seemingly developed more complicated languages based on variations of their own name but its rare to find a Pokémon that is able to effectively mimic human language. The few that can are typically psychics that use mental manipulation to communicate with humans or otherwise rely on circumstantial events to accomplish a similar feat.

Thats what makes Meowth so fascinating. Introduced early on in the Pokémon anime as part of the Team Rocket trio, Meowth is one of the only Pokémon who is able to speak to humans in their own language so consistently and articulately without relying on special abilities or circumstances. To be clear, only Team Rockets Meowth seems to be able to do that. Other Meowths seen in the series dont appear to be able to mimic human language. So what makes Team Rockets Meowth different?

Well, in Season 2, Episode 16 of the Pokémon anime , Meowth reveals that he stumbled across a female Meowth when he was young and fell head over heels for her. She didnt return his affection, though, because she had a rich trainer and saw Mewoth as a Street Meowth who couldnt impress her because he wasnt human.

    The Electric Tale Of Pikachu

Meowth appears in The Electric Tale of Pikachu along with his teammates Jessie and James. He first appears in Pikachus Excellent Adventure.

In Days of Gloom and Glory, an unnamed Meowth based on Meowzie appears. Like the anime, Meowzie finds Meowths ability to speak the human language creepy. In the manga, however, she has at least one kitten, which she captures in a stolen Poké Ball in order to protect it from an impending flood.

    Cost By Pokemon Card Type

There are several types of Pokemon cards and different Pokemon. While the Pokemon does have a factor in price, its the type of card that makes it valuable.

    Holographic Shadowless Charizard: $500000

Meowth Steam Siege Card Price How much it

There are a lot of factors that make the Holographic Shadowless First Edition Charizard card worth so much compared to any other Charizard card. Firstly, it’s a first edition version of the undoubtedly most popular Kanto starter, which already makes it extra valuable to most pokemon fans. Alongside this, the card is also shadowless, which essentially means the card lacks a shadow between the box containing the image of the Pokemon, and the rest of the card.

This “Shadowless” effect is not a misprint or a mistake. It’s actually the original Pokemon card design, as the foiling process has changed and provided a different look to modern holographic and foil cards. These Charizard cards have become one of the prime reasons for the Pokemon Card trend of the past two years, with YouTuber Logan Paul opening one as recently as February 2021 that was estimated by auction site owner Ken Goldin to sell for upwards of $500,000.

    Pokemon Card Sold By Country

With no surprise, 62.19% of Pokemon cards were sold from the United States and Japan coming in second with 19.62%. Canada came in third with 7.71% of total cards sold.

    Country
    $44,579.17 $68.27

For the bigger countries like Japan, the United States, Canada and Australiait kind of got interesting.

The United States sold the most at $44,579.17 but only had an average of $66.46. This is less than the total average sold.

Japan and Australia had higher averages at $93.73 and $89.17 respectively.

Canadas average was on the lower side at $55.53. Canadians seem to be selling their cards but arent selling valuable pokemon cards.

It was also interesting to see that Canada and Australia had around the same number of items sold, but Australia had a 60% higher average than Canada.

This could mean that Australians have more valuable Pokémon cards than Canadians.

Same with Japan and the United States.

Japan had a 27% higher average cost than the United States but only had 19.62% of items sold compared to the United States which had 62% of the items sold.

We also looked at One37pm and found that the most valuable collector Pokemon cards are printed in Japanese .

    Tamamushi University Magikarp: $50000

The Tamamushi University Magikarp card is so rare that despite the fact that it depicts a frankly awful Pokemon, it’s worth ridiculous sums of money. Why the high price? Well, the University Magikarp was a promotional card that saw very limited distribution at a Japanese tournament in the late 1990s.

RELATED: The Weakest Pokemon From Each Generation, Ranked

In total, 1000 of the cards were produced but far fewer were actually awarded and many were just stowed away forever. Barely any of these rare Magikarp cards are still in circulation today, and its incredibly rare to see new ones show up. At the moment, PSA Cards Price Guide chart lists perfectly-preserved cards to have sold for around $50,000, while copies with NM-MT 8 ratings still sell for amazing heights of $12,000.

Galarian Pokmon In Pokmon Go Explained

Like the Alolan Pokémon before them, Galarian Pokémon differ from their counterparts both physically and statistically, with the Pokémon typing often being swapped Galarian Darumaka, for example, being an ice-type Pokémon compared its traditional fire-type nature.

Galarian Pokémon were released as part of the eighth generation of Pokémon and make their home in the Galar region, which was inspired by Britain. Due to this many of the Galarain Pokémon are inspired by either British wildlife, history or mythology.

A number of Galarian Pokémon also have final evolutions that can be achieved if the Pokémon being evolved is a Galar variant. Obstagoon, for example, can only be obtained by evolving a Galarian Linoone.

In Pokémon Go, Galarian Pokémon is a type of Pokémon Forme, much like how Pokémon like Castform has a different appearance depending on the weather.

Galarian Pokémon can be obtained in a variety of ways, from simply being caught like a regular Pokémon to hatching from 7km eggs.

Thankfully, Galarian Pokémon share the candy with their traditional forme. This means that, if you have enough candy, you can instantly evolve a Galarian Meowth or Linoone, which can help you fill in some otherwise tricky Pokédex entries.

At this 1999 event, just 12 of these Tropical Mega Battle cards were produced to be distributed to some of the lucky 50 players who attended the event, meaning the remaining number of mint copies is especially low all these years later.

If you own any of the cards listed below, condition is the biggest factor in figuring out what your cards are worth. The prices below illustrate what these cards are worth after grading in mint condition as PSA 9’s & 10’s.

Important to note: It is very unlikely that your cards will grade this high if they have been played with. If you have these cards laying around in less than mint condition, it still may be worth getting them graded as long as they are in pretty good shape.

The Print Quality Is Quite Good

Meowth Team Up Card Price How much it

This may seem like an odd reason, but its particularly important if you plan to grade your Pokemon cards. Some people are trying to do an apples to apples comparison of the Celebrations Charizard and the Evolutions Charizard, but this is incorrect.

A PSA 10 Charizard from Evolutions fetches a high price tag of $3000 today. This is only because the set had terrible print quality with only 315 PSA 10s in existence. However, there are almost 10,000 PSA 9 grades of this card, which means that the PSA 10 grades would also be in the several thousands if this set had a better print quality. A more apt comparison would be to the Champions Path Shiny Charizard V, which has over 6000 PSA 10 grades and has realized a sharp decline in value since release.
