I really enjoy playing the Pokémon TCG. Its a game with a lot of thoughtful strategy and is balanced in such a way that for the most part, smart play can help you come back from being behind and can also even out new players with veterans so that there isnt a horrible barrier to entry. The app is also totally free to play and offers a lot of variation so that you can endlessly play. But I started getting really irritated with this game within the last 6 months or so. They released two new decks, the Mach Strike and Imperial Command decks. These decks are so overpowered compared to all the decks released. Its very easy to do essentially one-hit kill damage within three, if not two turns. Occasionally you can come back to win if you get really lucky and if you quite literally play your cards right. But good luck getting to that point, because half of the people I play with use this deck to just grind. They quit out immediately if things start going south, and it drives me up the wall. I love playing a game that goes for a solid 10 minutes and provides a good challenge between two equally matched players, and this has become so few and far between because everyone just uses the same two decks because theyre the best, and no one actually wants a challenge. I wish Pokémon would change these decks or get rid of them entirely, because theyve ruined the fun and balance of the game.

Fun But Some Tiny Problems
This game is amazing. Its easy to pick up, there are lots of characters, there is an OPTION to pay, no ads you get it. New Pokémon are being added every once in a while , there are cool skins for your Pokémon, and there is a buttload of strategy involved. I will say, as someone who has screen time, its a bit tricky to time matches so that my time doesnt end in the middle of a match. If you go afk you lose fair-play points, if you lose enough of those, you get banned. And if your teammate idles, your team loses. But the team will contact you in-game and give you a reward. I would love to see more maps for standard and ranked battles. And stats for each character. The item enhancers are somewhat easily obtained. But the biggest problem is that the battle items have to be obtained by grinding. New players look up guides and see that the better items are far away. Battle items should be obtainable in the shop. But this is a petty desire of mine. All in all, the best game on my phone. Great job Tencent! P.S. Pokémon quest is a really fun game! Though, I do think that they can add a few things and fix a few things as well. This does NOT mean bugs just things like allowing everyone to get in-app purchases. I personally think that everyone should be allowed to get in-app purchases because they might really ,REALLY need it! And I think they should add some new Pokémon to this game. Sure they have a lot of Pokémon, but I think they should add some of the newer Pokémon and also add new ingredients instead of the normal ones. And I now that this game hasnt had an update in 2 years, but some new stuff couldnt hurt right? I absolutely love this game and it is really fun, but I personally think that they should also add new worlds.
