Okay I Have A Buddy Now What

Go for walks! No, really, now that you have a designated Buddy you should go on strolls. Similar to egg-hatching, you can gain Candy for your buddy the more kilometers you rack up. Interestingly, different Pokemon require you walk different distances. For example, you need to walk 3 kilometers before you get a Candy for Slowpoke. You only get one candy after walking that specific distance, though. You can find out more about your Buddys progress by tapping the Trainer profile icon, then tapping the top of the screen, where your Trainer and Buddy are hanging out. At the top of the screen youll see the total distance traveled. In the middle, youll see your Buddy . At the bottom, theres a gauge that shows how far you still need to walk for a Candy.

Other Ways To Get More Stardust In Pokmon Go

The next best alternative for getting more Stardust is through hatching Pokémon Eggs. You’ll get a range of Stardust rewards for Egg-hatching, depending on the type of Egg you crack open. 10km Eggs reward the most, dishing out around 2,000 Stardust when they hatch. You’ll get less for the 2km and 5km Eggs, however. If you’re looking for more tips on that, then check out our guide to hatching 2km, 5km and 10km Eggs and using incubators.

Hatching Eggs is without doubt the best way to get large chunks of Stardust in one go, but it’s simply a case of time invested that makes it less of a priority when compared to catching Pokémon. Whilst 2000 Stardust is a lovely reward, it’s unikely you’ll be able to get out there and trek 10 kilometres in half an hour. Although if you can, then congrats – I envy your endurance!

You can also earn a small amount of Stardust from feeding creatures as part of the summer 2017 Gym rework. For every Berry you give to a defending Pokémon, you’ll receive 20 Stardust in return, alongside a small amount of Gym Badge XP and a small chance of Candy.

Elsewhere, an update to the game introduced a Pokémon Go Daily Bonus, whereby you receive 600 Stardust for your first catch of the day, and much more if you catch creatures seven days in a row.

Finally, you can get more Stardust from catching creatures of a certain type boosted by the current weather effect boost, adding an additional 25 Stardust on the 100 you’d usually receive.

How Do I Get Unlimited Stardust

How To Get Stardust In Pokemon Go Arcade News

Find and complete all the Field Research tasks that give you Stardust as a reward. Make sure to use at least your Free Raid Pass to get the Stardust reward every day. Use a Star Piece to get 1.5x more Star Dust whenever youre about to grind hard-core. When and if theres a Stardust event, make the most of it.

What About The Other Methods Of Gathering Stardust

If you paid attention to the charts above, you might be tempted instead to hatch eggs and focus on the various other bonuses. Thats fair enough, their single reward is pretty high.

What youre not taking into context, is how long it takes to perform those actions though. Hatching an egg requires walking that particular distance, and you cant just use berries whenever you want to.

However, you should definitely try and combine the bonuses to maximise your daily output. For example, if you have a ton of time on your hands, you could try and walk 10km and catch as many Pokémon as you can along the way.

When you get back, youll get up to 3,200 stardust as well as however much you managed to gather along the way.

The only thing to bear in mind with this method is that it can be counterproductive to walk in a rural area, as you wont come across very many Pokémon. So you have to consider how long it takes you to walk 10km versus how many Pokémon you could catch in a busy area in that time.

Finally, target Pokémon that provide the current weather effect boost. You dont get showered with stardust for doing it, but for every four first evolution Pokémon you catch, youll basically get the amount of stardust you would have caught from catching five.

How To Get Stardust From Gyms

HOW TO GET 135,000 STARDUST IN 30 MINUTES – TOP STRATEGY FOR STACKING RESEARCH QUESTS | POKÉMON GO

After the rework of Gyms, the ability to feed the Pokemon in Gyms that your team has control of not only heals them but will also reward you with some Stardust. With only 20 stardust as a reward, it’s not good to rely only on this method but it’s a good option on the side while using the previous two methods.

Can You Get Stardust In Pokmon Go From Gyms

You can’t get Stardust from battling at Gyms, but you can get it for feeding Pokémon on Gyms if they’re from the same team.

  • 20 Stardust per Berry fed to a friendly Pokémon on a Gym.
  • 2000 Stardust per 10 Berrys fed to 10 friendly Pokémon on Gyms per 30 minutes.

You get Stardust for every Berry you feed to your own Pokémon, or any Pokémon on a Gym controlled by your team, up to a maximum of 10 Berries to 10 Pokémon every half hour. So, feed a Berry to 10 Pokémon, or feed 10 Berries to a single Pokémon, and you get 200 Stardust but it costs you 10 Razz, Pinap, or Nanab Berries. Feed 10 Berries to 10 Pokémon, and you get 2000 Stardust but it costs you 100 Berries.

So, to equal the maximum reward from the old Defenders Bonus, you would have to feed 250 Berries at the cost of 250 Berries every 21 hours.

To make matters more complicated, you also have to find Pokémon that need to be fed, and Pokémon that need to be fed up to 10 Berries. Since everyone interested in Stardust is competing to feed the same friendly Pokémon on the same Gyms, opportunities can be hard to come by. And that means Stardust can be hard to come by.

You can also get Stardust from beating Raid Bosses:

  • 500 Stardust per Raid Boss beaten.

That’s in addition to the usual amount for catching them afterward.

How To Get Stardust From Hatching Eggs

Hatching eggs is the other way to get new Pokemon and is another way to get Stardust. Eggs come in variants dictated by how far you have to walk to hatch them and their Stardust rewards grow along with their distance growing.

  • 2 Km Egg rewards 400 – 800 Stardust
  • 5 Km Egg rewards 800 – 1600 Stardust
  • 7 Km Egg rewards 800 – 1600 Stardust
  • 10 Km Egg rewards 1600 – 3200 Stardust
  • 12 Km Egg rewards 3200 – 6400 Stardust
  • This spread of values makes it a little random which eggs will give you the most Stardust but on average the most lucrative egg is the 12 Km one but it is very rare. So it’s lucky that the second-best option is the most common egg in the game, the 2 Km egg. Hatching a large amount of 2 Km eggs can be a very good way to help boost your Stardust total, especially if youre catching Pokemon with the previous bonuses in mind as you hatch them.

Tips For Getting More Stardust In Pokemon Go

The most straightforward and passive way to get Stardust in Pokemon GO is to capture Pokemon or hatch eggs. Each Pokemon a trainer catches will get them 100 Stardust. However, catching an already evolved Pokemon can earn 200.

A trainer can hatch eggs by walking, and each egg will have a specific amount that will need to be walked to hatch the egg.

    • Hatching eggs 2-km eggs give 400 to 800 Stardust.
    • 5-km eggs give 800 to 1600 Stardust.
    • 7-km eggs give 800 to 1600 Stardust.
    • 10-km eggs give 1600-3200 Stardust.
    • 12-km eggs give 3200-6400 Stardust.

Two of the more difficult but rewarding approaches to earning Stardust include completing Field Research and Raids. For Field Research, a trainer can get thousands of Stardust per completed task. Raids also reward trainers generously, and they can do one free raid per day.

Weather and Spotlight Hours are the other two that are more out of the trainers control, but great opportunities to take advantage of when they arise.

Each Pokemon responds to the real-time weather around a player and has specific weather that boosts them in Pokemon GO. Playing with a Pokemon that is boosted by the current weather will earn the trainer more Stardust.

The Spotlight Hour in Pokémon Go is a special weekly event. It will show one special Pokémon each week and have a bonus effect.

Remember, Trainers! Dratini will be in the spotlight on Tuesday, May 11, at 6 p.m. local time, and youll earn twice the Candy for transferring Pokémon.

Using Stardust To Power Up Pokmon

To power up Pokémon and increase their Combat Power , you need to use their respective candy and Stardust. This is important, as the more CP your Pokémon has, the more HP, attack, and defense they have. The stronger your Pokémon are, the easier it is to complete raids and take down gyms. As you level them up, the more candy and Stardust they require to power up further. Lucky Pokémon require less candy and Stardust to power up.

Since candy and Stardust goes fast when powering up, we recommend only leveling the strongest of the strong.

Each time you power up a Pokémon, they gain a half level. Your Pokémons level cannot exceed your trainer level, and it caps at 40. You can see a chart of the power up costs below.

What Is Stardust Used For In Pokemon Go

Now that youve got more Stardust than you know what to do with, we should probably explain what youre supposed to do with it. While you can get by catching Pokemon and expanding your PokeDex without the need for Stardust, if you want to make your team the very best, like no one ever was, youll need to keep some Stardust on hand.

Stardusts primary purpose is to power up your Pokemon. You can level your Pokemon up until that white curve above it is as far to the right as it will go. Slightly confusingly, every time you level up your trainer, each Pokemon gets two extra segments to the curve, so a fully levelled up Pokemon can be levelled up twice more for everytime you level up. Levelling up Pokemon will cost Stardust and Candies, though it will cost more of each depending on how high your Pokemons level already is.

Considering how small the quantities of Stardust you get for any individual action, levelling up is incredibly expensive. Getting a Pokemon from level 1 to level 40 costs 270,000 Stardust, for example. For that reason, you should only focus on Pokemon youre likely to use in Raids, and ideally Pokemon with good IVs. IVs are individual values, and refer to their rating out of 15 for Attack, Defence, and HP. These can be found by selecting a Pokemon then choosing Appraise from the menu.

With that, you know every possible way to get Stardust in the game, and exactly what its used for. Thats all you need to be a Pokemon Master!

    When To Use Stardust

Since stardust is a valuable commodity, it is advisable not to use Stardust unless you can make the most of it. Here are a few tips to keep in mind when using Stardust.

    • More Stardust is required the higher level a Pokemon gets – as you increase in trainer level and find tougher pokemon, Stardust will quickly scale to the pokemon’s level, eventually costing thousands per power up. With this in mind – try to limit spending too much, when it may be easier to just try and find a higher level pokemon in the wild
    • Top off your already powerful pokemon – Since a pokemon’s CP can only get so high dependant on your trainer’s level, you’ll never truly max out a pokemon’s CP for good. When finding a pokemon to level up, try to find ones that you’ve caught or hatched that are already far along the CP bar, where the white line is near the far right in the 90% range. That ensures you’ll only need to power them up once or twice per level to keep them at a high level.
    • Don’t waste Stardust on a pokemon you have no candy for – While it can be enticing to want to power up a rare pokemon you just found, remember that rare pokemon means you won’t have many candy to use to power up along with the stardust. Therefore it’s better saved for when you catch several of that type, or at least hatch them from an egg – which gives you lots of candy and stardust to work with.
