How To Evolve Mr Mime Into Mr Rime In Pokemon Sword And Shield

How to Evolve Galarian Mr. Mime into Mr. Rime in Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield!

Once a player has caught a Mr. Mime in Pokemon Sword and Shield, they can then proceed to evolve it into Mr. Rime. Fortunately, this process is exceedingly simple, as all a fan needs to do is level up their Mr. Mime once to trigger the transformation. This is because Mr. Mime will evolve into Mr. Rime upon hitting level 42, and since players will be capturing a Mr. Mime at level 45 or above from the aforementioned locations, a quick level up is all that is needed to begin the evolution.

Alternatively, players can have more control over the stats of their Pokemon by first evolving a Mime Jr. into Mr. Mime, which occurs at level 32, and then evolving it into a Mr. Rime at level 42. For fans that want the perfect Mr. Rime, this may be the preferred option, but the approach outlined above should be suitable for most players as they make their way through Pokemon Sword and Shield‘s Galar region.

Pokemon Sword and Shield are out now for Nintendo Switch.

How to get Kanto Mr. Mime in Pokémon Sword and Shield

The sweet prince of Pokémon returns.

The MVP of Detective Pikachu, Mr. Mime, is yours to own in Pokémon Sword and Shield in his original Kanto form. Rather than having to go out and battle one, however, you must trade for a Mr. Mime instead.

The first thing you need is an Obstagoon that you dont mind trading. This Dark-type Pokémon is highly sought after for its versatility, as well as the fact that its inspired by KISS.

To get an Obstagoon in Sword and Shield, you need to evolve a Zigzagoon into a Linoone by reaching level 20, and then levelling up the Linoone at level 35 and beyond during nighttime.

Once you have your Obstagoon, head on over to Spikemuth, which is where you will fight Piers: the 7th Gym Leader and a fan of Dark-type Pokémon.

In the arena where you battle Piers, theres a guy behind the stall who will ask you if you want to trade your Obstagoon for his Kanto Mr. Mime by the name of Mymo.

Accept the trade and you will receive the Kanto Mr. Mime in return. From what we can tell, the level of the Mr. Mime correlates with the level of your Obstagoon.

Mr. Mime will come in extremely hand in the fight with Raihan as his type is effective against Dragon. Wed recommend you use him and another Dragon Pokémon like Gyarados in the duo battle.

How To Evolve Mr Mime Into Mr Rime

Mr. Mime was initially introduced back in Pokemon Red and Blue as a Psychic type Pokemon before later being turned into a Psychic/Fairy when that new typing was introduced in Gen 6. Two generations before that also brought a pre-evolution for Mr. Mime with Mime Jr., but the Pokemon has never received an actual evolution. Technically Mr. Mime itself still does not have an evolution, but the newly introduced Galarian Mr. Mime does with Mr. Rime.

We already covered how to find a Galarian Mr. Mime in another guide, so the focus in this guide is how to actually evolve this new form into Mr. Rime. Galarian Mr. Mime is a Psychic/Ice type Pokemon and evolving it is rather simple, as all you have to do is keep raising its level until it reaches 42. Once it reaches 42, it will evolve into Mr. Rime.

Considering how late in the game you should be catching Galarian Mr. Mime, its very likely it will already be past level 42. In that case, just raise it one additional level and it will turn into Mr. Rime at that time. Mr. Rime also learns Psychic at level 48, so make sure to try and get it evolved prior to that or you will have to go find the Move Reminder.

Galarian Mr. Mime is evolved from Mime Jr. which you can catch in Galar region. After evolving into Mr. Mime, overall base stats and psychic powers of Mr. Mime increase exponentially.

  • It is an Ice and Psychic-type pokemon and very strong in Psychic powers.
  • It has the Ice Body ability, where it gradually regains its HP in a hailstorm.
  • Mime can be found at Route 10 with maximum chances, you might also find it at Winter Hill Station and Lake of Outrage.
  • As it is found in Galar region, it will be ready to evolve as soon as you get him into a fight.

If you catch a greater than level 42 Mime, all you need to do is level up your Mr. Mime once and it will evolve to Mr. Rime.

If you are training your pokemon from a lower level, then in this case you need to make sure that your Mr. Mime learns the ability Mimic.

He will learn it at level 32 basically, so after that you just need to get it to level 42 and it will evolve to Mr. Rime easily.

This is all you need to know about leveling up and catching Mr. Mime in Sword and Shield.

Obstagoon can be caught after obtaining the water bike upgrade available on Route 9. Mr. Mimes Kantonian form appears later than this in the game, so youll already have this upgrade. Go west from the Professors house, across the water. There will be some grass patches where Obstagoon spawn.

Kantonian Mr. Mime is hidden deep in Spikemuth. Fly to the Route 9 stop just outside of Spikemuth and bike deep into the interior to the end of the Gym Challenge area. A Team Yell grunt can be found sitting at a booth in the left corner. Speak to him and hell request an Obstagoon for his Mr. Mime. Accept the trade and youll get a Kantonian Mr. Mime.

How To Get Kantonian Mr Mime

First, you need one Obstagoon. The easiest way is to capture one at the Lake of Outrage area. Fly to Route 2 and drive over the lake with your bike and you can find one as soon as you reach land. You can also evolve a Galarian Zigzagoon, but nah, doesn’t make sense to have all this work just to give it away. Capturing one is much faster.

Then, go to Route 9 and proceed right to Spikesmouth. This is where you fight, or did, against the leader of the Dark-type Gym, Piers.

If it’s your first time there, it will be crowded with members of Team Yell. You’ll need to battle some of them before reaching the arena where the Gym Leader is located. After reaching the arena, there is a stand in the upper left corner that looks like a kissing booth. Talk to the pink mohawk dude and he will offer you a trade, your Obstagoon for his Kantonian Mr. Mime. Accept and voila.
