So you want to get your mitts on a Mimikyu, even though its Pokedex entry is incredibly concerning. If you’ve not heard of one, then you probably only skimmed our list last year about the spookiest Pokemon in existence. Costumed Pichu can only be found in eggs that are collected during the event period theyre connected to. This means that, if you hold onto one of these eggs, its possible that you might hatch a Pichu outside of an event.

Typically Pichu can be found in 7km, but its always a good idea to check the specifics of the event just in case theyre appearing in additional egg pools. This will make your task of tracking down that special Pichu a lot easier.

The Best Moveset For Mimikyu In Pokemon Sword And Shield

Mimikyu’s signature ability and terrifying typing allow for a moveset that’s just as horrific as whatever Pokemon may lie underneath its disguise.

The Pikachu-mimicking Mimikyu took the franchise by storm after its reveal, with plenty of people fawning over the lonely Ghost type Pokemon. But unlike Pikachu, Mimikyu is a serious threat on the battlefield. The Ghost and Fairy typing negates damage from three separate types, including the ravaging force of Dragon type moves and the normally reliable damage of Normal type moves. With its Disguise ability, which completely negates the damage of the first attack used on Mimikyu, it can cause some serious problems with its murderous moveset.

Pokemon Sword and Shield Mimikyu is a Ghost and Fairy Type Disguise Pokémon, which makes it weak against Ghost, Steel type moves. You can find and catch Mimikyu in Giant’s Mirror with a 3% chance to encounter during Fog weather when walking through tall grass. The Max IV Stats of Mimikyu are 55 HP, 90 Attack, 50 SP Attack, 80 Defense, 105 SP Defense, and 96 Speed.

Based on this pokemon’s stats we consider the best nature for Mimikyu to have is Careful, this will increase it’s Sp. Def and decrease it’s Sp. Atk stats.

Alternatively: Catch Mimikyu In Rare Raid Battle

If you cant seem to get Mimikyu to spawn for the life of you, fear not, there is an alternative means of catching it. Mimikyu has a chance to spawn in a rare Max Raid Battle Den in Hammerlocke Hills and Rolling Fields. Again there is no guarantee Mimikyu will spawn into the raid battles, but it is worth checking them out in case it does.

What Mimikyu Does In Battle

Despite not evolving or Gigantamaxing, Mimikyu is a good fighter. That’s largely thanks to its Ability, Disguise. This makes the first attack done against Mimikyu in battle deal zero damage. Essentially, it gives Mimikyu’s Trainer a free turn to do whatever they want.

That free turn can be used in a variety of ways. You could use Will-o-Wisp or Thunder Wave to cripple the opponent. Or you could lay down Light Screen to protect your team. Another option is to use Swords Dance to start the fight with a Mimikyu buff. As for what attacks to give Mimikyu, go with physical moves like Play Rough or Shadow Claw.

Pokemon Go Darkrai Raids Shiny Pikachu In Mimikyu Costume Other Halloween Details

Pokemon GO Halloween will be in full effect later this week, so its time now to prepare! First weve got to get our heads wrapped around the details. The most important part of this event will be the appearance of Darkrai in tier five raids, if youre looking for the most powerful Pokemon available in the month of October. If youre looking for Halloween-themed Pokemon that might never appear in the game again after this event, youll want to watch the streets!

Tier five raids will include the release of Darkrai. This event with Darkrai will start on October 17 at 4PM ET, and will last until November 1, 4PM ET. Thats the same start and end time universally so convert to find your own time if you live in a different time zone.

Darkrai always has either Snarl or Feint Attack as its fast move, then one of three moves for its charge move. Charge moves can be Focus Blast , Shadow Ball , or Dark Pulse . Darkrai is weak against Bug, Fairy, and Fighting type Pokemon. Darkrai is similarly strong against Dark, Ghost, and Psychic type Pokemon so youll want to avoid using Pokemon with those types as much as possible when going in for a raid!

This event will also include the release of the Forbidden Pokemon: Spiritomb! This will be the only time this Pokemon was made available in the game thus far EXCEPT FOR the same event last year. Almost like this monster only comes out for candy!

How To Find Mimikyu In Pokmon Sword And Shield

Spooky.

Mimikyu, one of Sun and Moons most popular Pokémon, is making a return in Sword and Shield.

But dont expect to find the Pikachu cloth-wearing Pokémon easily. Game Freak has made sure that players who want to find this Pokémon will need to earn it since its nearly impossible to locate unless you meet certain criteria.

Theres only one place in the entire Galar region where Mimikyu can spawn and thats in the Wild Area. More specifically, this Pokémon can spawn at Giants Mirror in the north portion of the Wild Area.

Dont expect to see it there all the time, either. It only spawns when the weather in the small area is fog. Mimikyu wont spawn if theres any other weather in the area.

Mimikyu doesnt spawn regularly, either. Expect to be looking for one for several hours unless you get lucky. It has less than a five-percent spawn rate in the area.

Youre more likely to find Impidimp, Milcery, and more Pokémon before you finally see a Mimikyu. It might be worth looking to see if anyone has one to trade or if a Max Raid Battle is housing Mimikyu before you put yourself through this kind of torture.
