Where To Find Larvitar In Pokemon Shield

Is Larvitar In Pokemon Sword

How to Catch Larvitar – Pokemon Sword & Shield

This is a question our experts keep getting from time to time. Now, we have got the complete detailed explanation and answer for everyone, who is interested!

Asked by: Prof. Beryl Dooley MD

Players with Pokemon Sword won’t be able to find Larvitar in the wild, and they’ll need to trade for it with someone who has Shield. Shield players can find Larvitar in two places: the Lake of Outrage and Roaring-Sea Caves. In the Lake of Outrage, you’ll need to wait for overcast weather or intense sun.

Find Munchlax In Pokmon Sword & Shield

Munchlax, like Snorlax, is located in the Motostoke Riverbank area in the Overworld. Munchlax has a 5% spawn chance at this location in normal, sunny weather, as long as the player is level 26-28. Munchlax also spawns and can be caught during a 2-Star Raid if the player has reached level 25-30.

While Munchlax is not much more difficult to find than Snorlax, it is possible that players will find and catch Snorlax sooner. If that happens, the player can breed Snorlax with a Ditto at one of the Nurseries. Ditto is great for breeding situations because it will always transform into a Pokémon of the same species, meaning this Ditto would also turn into a Snorlax.

To ensure the egg will produce a Munchlax, players will also need to purchase Full Incense and equip Snorlax with it prior to sending it to the Nursery. Once players have an egg, they will need to walk or bike around the open world for a little while until it hatches. If the resulting Pokémon is not Munchlax, players will need to repeat the process until Munchlax appears.

Where To Catch Larvitar

If you’re looking to catch a Larvitar, you’ll want to make sure you have a copy of Pokemon Shield as it’s one of the Pokemon exclusive to one version.

In these weather conditions, Larvitar can spawn as a random encounter in the tall grass. It only has an encounter rate of 5%, so don’t expect to find it right away.

Isle Of Armor Tutor Moves

With the addition of the Isle of Armor DLC came new moves that Pokémon could learn via the move tutor found in the Master Dojo. Of these new moves, the Larvitar line can only learn one of them: Lash Out. This Dark-type move with a base power of 75 doubles in strength if it is used the turn the users stats are lowered.

As Tyranitar often holds a Weakness Policy, which is usually activated by the player’s use of Bulldoze that also lowers all affected Pokémon’s speed stat, this makes Lash Out a viable option to any players who use Tyranitar in a doubles team.

Tropical Mega Battle: $10000

In the late 1990s and early 2000s, an annual Pokemon Trading Card Game tournament was held in Honolulu, Hawaii. At this 1999 event, just 12 of these Tropical Mega Battle cards were produced to be distributed to some of the lucky 50 players who attended the event, meaning the remaining number of mint copies is especially low all these years later.

Pokemon Shield – Where to Find Larvitar

Making a return from the Johto Region, Tyranitar is flat out one of the hardest-hitting Pokemon in Generation VIII.

One look at its stats and its clear to see why Tyranitar is a treasure among Pokemon. It may not be so fast, but with 100 base HP and 110 base Defense, this Pokemon can outlive any enemy. Not only is it physically bulky, but it also has 100 base Special Defense. Tyranitars main ability, Sand Stream, raises a sandstorm when the Pokemon enters the battle. This is great, as a Rock-type Pokemon, Tyranitar gets its Special Defense doubled in sand. Basically, no Special Attacker is even going to scratch this Pokemon. This is coupled with a fearsome base 134 Attack stat which solidifies Tyranitars status as one of the most bulky attackers in the game. Tyranitar can carry a team through Pokemon Sword and Shield with this moveset:

Where To Find Moonstones In Pokemon: Sword & Shield

Finding Moon Stones in Sword and Shield is a bit easier than finding and capturing the Pokemon associated with them. There are a few places that players can look to get their hands on a Moonstone and a few methods to snagging the elusive rock:

  • Players can sometimes find a Moonstone via the Digging Duo in the Wild Area. Unfortunately, the spawn rates are quite low for these rare items and trainers will be forced to fork over 500 Watts for each attempt they make. With a wide pool of items for the brothers to pick from, its not necessarily recommended that players try to farm Moonstones in this way. Currently, the drop rate for a Moon Stone is 3% from the Stamina Brother and 4% from the Skill Brother.
  • There is one Moonstone located in the upper right corner of the Dusty Bowl area. Players can find it near a massive rock and behind some bushes.
  • A Moonstone can be found in The Lake of Outrage. Players have a chance to find multiple evolution stones here and will need the second Rotom Bike upgrade found on Route 9 to navigate the waters here.
  • In the Crown Tundra DLC, a Moonstone can be grabbed on the left side of the Tunnel to the Top map.

Catch Munchlax In Pokmon Sword & Shield

Pokemon Sword and Shield: How to Catch & Find Larvitar, Pupitar, and Tyranitar

Once players find Munchlax at Motostoke Riverbank, they will need to engage it by running into it. Munchlax is weak to Fighting-type moves, so players will want to use a Fighting-type Pokémon during the battle. It is possible that the wild Munchlaxs stats will be low enough that players can simply catch it using a higher-level ball, like the Ultra Ball.

If not, players can try to chip Munchlaxs HP down to around 1 using Fighting-type moves and then capture it.

Later, if players want to evolve Munchlax into Snorlax, they will need a very high friendship level. To achieve this, players can play with Munchlax at camp, cook curry, or offer it special Friendship-raising balls.

Pokémon Sword & Shield is available for the Nintendo Switch.

Finding and catching Larvitar in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl will allow players to add Tyranitar, a powerful Pokémon, to their team.

Finding and catching Larvitar in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl will allow players to add Tyranitar, a powerful Rock and Dark-type Pokémon, to their team. Larvitar and its evolved forms, Pupitar and Tyranitar, were some of the strongest Pokémon that players could use in the original Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl, and their return to the remakes allows them to step into the same role. Larvitar and its lineage have some interesting characteristics in Pokémon, including type changes and temporary Hidden Abilities.

Hidden Abilities are rare abilities of a Pokémon that aren’t typically seen on a given species. In Larvitar’s case, its Hidden Ability in Pokémon BDSP is Sand Veil. Sand Veil increases Larvitar’s evasion by 20% when the Sandstorm weather condition is in effect. Furthermore, having the Sand Veil ability gives the ability-bearer immunity to Sandstorm damage, but since Larvitar is both a Rock and Ground-type Pokémon it can’t be affected by the damage anyways. After Larvitar evolves into Pupitar it temporarily loses its Hidden Ability, but once Pupitar evolves into Tyranitar, Tyranitar will have its Hidden Ability one more.

How To Use The Dynamax Crystals In Pokmon Sword And Shield

You can use both Dynamax Crystals once you reach the Wild Area, which you first visit on your journey from Wedgehurt to the city of Motostoke.

Within the Wild Area you’ll find small collections of rocks that have a red aura. These are Pokémon Dens and inside them dwell Dynamax Pokémon.

Interacting with one of these Pokémon Dens will allow you to battle a Dynamax Pokémon in a Max Raid Battle. You have the option to invite other trainers to battle alongside you during these raids.

We’re not exactly sure yet, but it appears that if you want to use the Larvitar or Jangmo-o Dynamax Crystals you must visit a very specific Pokémon Den, called the Ghost Watchtower.

Here you’ll be able to use either the Larvitar Dynamax Crystal or the Jangmo-o Dynamax Crystal to make these Pokémon appear in a Max Raid Battle.

Once you’ve used a Dynamax Crystal, you’ll then be able to battle that Pokémon until you win the battle or it turns midnight on the day you used the Dynmax Crystal.
