Gen : Turtwig / Chimchar / Piplup

In generation 4, your early gym battles will pit you against rock, grass, and fighting-type Pokémon making Piplup a strong choice for survival in the first few towns. However, these Pokémon starters all have an advantage against an early gym leader.

Chimchar will help in the fight against Gardenia but struggle against Roark, while Turtwig effortlessly slays Roarks Pokémon lineup but suffers against the matching grass types in the Eterna gym battle.

Pokmon Go Gen 6 Pokmon List

Like the previous Pokémon generations, such as Gen 5, most evolutions will simply require you to collect a specific amount of Candy.

We can, however, expect to see a Gen 6 version of the Unova and Sinnoh Stone as, like Gen 4 and 5, this generation has a number of Pokémon that will only evolve if they are traded while holding a specific item.

A number of Pokémon may also be affected by the trading mechanic, which will make them easier to evolve once they’ve been traded with another player.

Here is the complete list of Gen 6 Pokémon:

Are Legendaries Stronger Than Regular Ones

If were just basing on lore, then chances are they usually are. However, in the games, it usually boils down to several factors. While Legendary Pokemon have high stats, special abilities, and other advantages, the nature of the Pokemon games will allow any Pokemon to beat a Legendary. You probably saw a lot of those videos where a team of Legendary Pokemon got defeated by a Bidoof.

That sounds silly but in a way, balance is always present in the Pokemon games. Then again, we are not just brushing off the fact that Legendary Pokemon isnt entirely weak. You also have to keep in mind of RNG and chance. You can even get a Legendary Pokemon that has low stats and a bad Nature.

Then again, you could also get lucky and get a Legendary that has high IV, a good Nature to match, and why not let it be a Shiny one. You just have to customize your Legendary to be good in battle if its default stats arent doing it any good.

All Legendary Pokemon List

All Pokemon Names I Mispronounced

Legendary Pokemon have been around since Generation I. Thats why well have this Legendary Pokemon list to give you your fill of information pertaining to what these Legendaries are all about. However, the term Legendary has a bit of a misconception until the Generation IV games. Apparently, the old versions dubbed even the Mythical Pokemon as Legendaries. That was corrected in Generation IV with the release of Diamond, Pearl, and later Platinum.

One of the most popular Legendary Pokemon is Mew. Even back then, Mew was considered as a Legendary but was later changed into Mythical because it is. The number of Legendary Pokemon has increased in the later Generations with Generation VII having the most with a total of 11 at the moment. In terms of the lore, Legendary Pokemon usually have something to do that impacts the story.

In terms of gameplay, they are usually stronger than regular Pokemon. There is also a defining trait that there is only one Legendary Pokemon present in each game. Much like how you could only capture one Mewtwo in the Generation I games as well as in the remakes. These Legendary Pokemon also have some special features. In the later game, there are some of them that have the ability to have several forms and other traits which makes them more distinct and stronger.

Gen : Bulbasaur / Charmander / Squirtle

These guys are the starters who started it all! Early on in Pokémon Yellow, Blue, and Red, youll be squaring off against Brocks tough-as-nails rock-type Pokémon, and not much later, youll be battling Mistys Starmie in Cerulean City.

While Bulbasaur is a classic counter to rock and water-type Pokémon, hes often considered the toughest starter in generation 1. Squirtle, on the other hand, is a strong contender in early gym battles but struggles in the Vermillion and Celadon City gyms. Charmander is by far the most popular choice, but Charmander also faces tough challenges in the first two gym battles.

Of course, Pokémon Yellow gives you no choice but our pal Pikachu, so Pokémon Yellow players have to prioritize catching and training wild Pokémon early on to make it through Pewter City unscathed.

Gen : Chikorita / Cyndaquil / Totodile

Generation 2s Pokémon starters, like generation 1, are a mix of water, fire, and water-type Pokémon but the early gym battles are much different.

Cyndaquil is a powerhouse against Bugsy in Azalea Town but struggles against Falkners flying-types and their Sand Attack. Totodile is much easier Pokémon to work with early in the game but struggles later on when you battle Chuck, Jasmine, and Pryce. Chikorita is probably the hardest generation 2 starter with very little edge in battle against most of the games gym leaders.

Gen : Chespin / Fennekin / Froakie

The X and Y Pokémon games in generation 6 start with a choice of grass/fire/water types, but your first gym battle pits you against a Pokémon list of bug types. This generation also includes Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, but keep in mind that Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire are simply enhanced remakes of the generation 3 titles.

Froakie is an easy early starter given that youll fight rock types in the Cyllage City gym. Chespin handles these early battles well, too, but Fennekin comes with a much tougher challenge having to face off against bug/water, rock/ice, and fighting-type Pokémon through the first three gym battles.

Pokemon

This list only contains the Pokemon that are clearly based on cats. There are arguments to be made for other creatures like Eevee , Mew, Entei, and Absol, but they arent exclusively cat-based creatures.

Mew, for example, is said to carry the DNA of all other Pokemon, and arguably looks more like a mouse anyway. The legendary Entei, meanwhile, has elements of a lion, but more closely resembles a dog.

So, there you have it. All of the catlike Pokemon in the Pokedex. For more content like this, check out our other mon lists:

Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, Brilliant Diamond and Shining PearlGeneration 4

Of all Pokémon starters, these 3 have to be my personal least favorite. The designs seemed to change drastically and Pokémon seemed to be designed to be less unique.

Turtwig, Chimchar, and Piplup brought the series to Generation 4, adding 107 additional Pokémon to the Pokédex and adding the new region of Sinnoh for you to explore.

Pokémon Diamond and Pearl were also the first of the main series to be released on the Nintendo DS.

The enhanced remakes Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl will be released on the Nintendo Switch in Late 2021.
