  • Miltank’s Ability Makes It The Perfect Counter In The Pokmon Tcg

Crown Zenith‘s new Secret Rare for Miltank has the perfect ability for countering the current meta’s strongest Pokémon. Miracle Body prevents all damage from enemy V Pokémon on active monsters, which is a godsend for Pokémon TCG players after Silver Tempest‘s release. Lugia VSTAR and Stoutland V decks have become a near unstoppable force in the Pokémon TCG because of Stoutland V’s attacks. However, with Miltank ‘s ability, players can maneuver around the Lugia-Stoutland strategy and try to deal with the two Pokémon as quickly as possible.

Miltank is powerful beyond the Lugia VSTAR matchup, though. In particular, Miltank is very useful in decks centered around cards like Mew VSTAR because Miracle Body protects such Pokémon from vulnerable matchups like Drapion V. This level of proficiency with Miltank is exciting to see in Crown Zenith. It shows that card designers for the Pokémon Trading Card Gameconsider more than just raw power and look at how even low-leveled Secret Rares can become viable options in battle.

Melony Makes Lumineon V’s Ability One Of The Best In The Pokmon Tcg

Crown Zenith‘s Secret Rare Alt Art of Lumineon V has one of the best abilities for any Pokémon TCG Sword and Shield card. Called “Luminous Sign,” this ability enables players to pull any single supporter card from their deck when moving Lumineon from their hand to the bench. What makes this ability so strong is that it allows player to prepare a development with any supporter card of their choosing for zero energy cost. Additionally, activating the ability comes with very little risk, as players only need to place Lumineon on the bench.

Crown Zenith also features several Secret Rare supporter cards that bring the most out of the Luminous Sign ability. One of the best pairings with Lumineon V is the Secret Rare Melony . As a Pokémon TCG Trainer Card, Melony not only grants Lumineon V a Water energy upon being summoned but also allows players to draw three additional cards from their decks. Lumineon can then use Aqua Return to deal 120 damage before immediately returning to the deck to be reused again. The speed and efficiency between Melony and Lumineon V make them a great pairing in battles against more energy-dependent monsters like Mew VMAX and Lugia VSTAR.

Trading My ULTRA RARE Pokemon Cards To Fans!

The newly released Pokemon TCG expansion features an assortment of beautiful cards inspired by Pokemon Go.

Pokemon has remained a multimedia juggernaut since Poke-mania reached its peak in the early aughts, but the franchise experienced a resurgence in 2016 with the arrival of Pokemon Go. Blending geolocation and augmented reality, the mobile game was an immediate hit, as eager players around the world flooded parks and stopped traffic in search of wild Pokemon.

Since that explosive debut, Pokemon Go has continued to grow. Now, six years on from the mobile game’s release, the Pokemon Trading Card Game has launched its first Pokemon Go-themed card expansion, and it’s a beauty.

Featuring nearly 80 new cards inspired by the hit mobile game, the Pokemon Go TCG set is a handsome collection that lovingly pays tribute to Niantic’s spin-off. What’s most striking is just how ably the set translates the essence of the mobile game into trading cards, both aesthetically and mechanically.

The card artwork is a particular highlight. The hand-drawn cards are beautiful as ever, but the expansion also introduces several photorealistic cards depicting Pokemon in real-world settings, harking back to Pokemon Go’s augmented reality nature. Not only are these cards stylistically unique compared to other Pokemon TCG sets, but they also capture a range of scenes, from a Charizard soaring majestically through a cityscape to a Snorlax hilariously obstructing someone’s doorstep.

    Black & White Legendary Treasures

The final wave for the Black & White line came out with a bang. Though the cards predate Mega Evolutions, it still boasts 16 possible Pokemon-EX pulls, including those from the Radiant Collection. Comparatively, this set has many holographic cards, making it great for those who like collecting the cards rather than battling. But for those who enjoy battling, the hilarious Trainer Card Cedric Juniper is sure to spice up your battles on and offline.

However, this expansion never had any Theme Decks attached to it, making it the second expansion in the Pokemon Trading Card Game’s history. This has made it extremely elusive and one of the more expensive sets to purchase, even though the cards aren’t the rarest in the game.

Regigigas Vstar Has A Devastating Ability In Crown Zenith

Introduced in Crown Zenith, Regigigas VSTAR is one of the scariest Secret Rares in the Pokémon TCG. Unlike other VSTAR cards, Regigigas VSTAR’s 300 HP rivals those of VMAX cards. Mounting an offensive against Regigigas VSTAR can thus feel helpless, especially because it only awards two prize cards. But it’s important to stop it as soon as possible, as its Giga Impact does 230 damage for just three colorless energies. This combination of bulk and power makes Regigigas VSTAR an immovable wall that hits as hard as it can take.

Though these attributes alone make Regigigas one of the stronger VSTAR cards in the PokémonTCG, the card’s most valuable asset is its ability, Star Guardian. When an opponent only has one prize card left, Star Guardian allows players to force their opponent to discard a benched Pokémon of their choice as well as the cards attached to it. This completely snubs an opponent’s ability to mount comebacks or activate back-up plans in late-game situations. Regigigas VSTAR thus works like its Late Start ability in the video games: its bulk and power is like an ominous warning at first, but then the Pokémon develops into one of the strongest monsters in the TCG.

    Sword & Shield Base Set

As the Scarlet & Violet base sets are fast approaching release, it’s a great time to look back and appreciate the set that kicked off the previous generation. These sets included the first V cards and had some of the strongest ones ever released.

While the set isn’t packed with pure power like others, such as Darkness Ablaze, the high end is sky-high. Zacian V, released in this set, is one of the best cards ever printed for the Pokemon TCG. With an incredible ability and a great attack, Zacian dominated the game. The coincidental Steel-type synergy also boosted its usability.

    What Are Your Skills

Pokemon Trading Card Game Legends of Galar Zamazenta V Tin Set 5 ...

Another good point to consider is your skill level. Are you completely new to Pokemon, or are you a seasoned pro? Your answer to this question will help determine which card sets are best for you. Certain packs only contain basic cards that are ideal for beginners. On the other hand, some collections feature rare cards that only experts would be missing. Its a good idea to do some inventory of your collection before you make a purchase.

The Pokemon Trading Card Game can be a lot of fun for both casual and serious fans. To ensure that you get the most out of the game, be sure to do your research ahead of time. In addition, dont forget to look for special features that might come in handy, such as access to the online Trading Card Game. Don’t Miss: Newest Japanese Pokemon Set

    Crown Zenith Vs The Universe

This seeming generosity all gets a bit tempered when you compare it to the Japanese version, VSTAR Universe. Because, if youd been hoping to see pull rates as high as that set, then tragically, I have to tell you its nothing like it. VSTAR Universe is absolutely bonkers, offering 10-card packs containing as many as four ultra rares or higher, and at the very least, a pile of holos. And Im very sad to report that the TPCi versions havent copied across the absolutely stunning reverse-holo patterning Japan enjoyed, where cards were given a full-card holo effect of glistening bubbles. In Crown Zenith, were stuck yet again with the dreary herringbone pattern thats afflicted SWSH throughout.

In further bad news, while Crown Zenith does feature Energy holos, theyre not the extraordinary patterns we saw in VSTAR Universe. The Japanese sets special Energy cards have a holo effect that switches from Poké Balls to the Energy types symbols as you tilt the cards, which is like nothing the cards have seen before. Why on Earth that wouldnt be replicated for the international cards is bewildering, and ours are just a plain foil sheen. Boo.

Pokmon World Championships Promo No 2 Trainer

One of the rarest Pokémon cards of all time, with only 3 known to exist

Sold for $110,100 in February 2021

    Image: PWCC

Like its equally rare and expensive Trainer trophy cards, the 2006 No. 2 Trainer is one of the rarest Pokémon cards of all time, with only a small handful of cards ever made.

Given as a trophy card to finalists of the Pokémon World Championships held in Anaheim, California during August 2006, in order to claim the card, players had to gain entry to the tournament by collecting enough points to qualify and then make it into the finals of their divisions.

Just three copies of the 2006 No. 2 Trainer are believed to exist, easily making it one of the rarest Pokémon cards in existence. Its rarity also means it commands a high price, with a copy graded at Mint 9 condition by PSA selling for just over $110,000 in February 2021.

The card itself features fan-favourite Pokémon Pikachu holding aloft a silver trophy, finished with a holographic pattern. The card reads: If you won this card at the 2006 Pokémon Trading Card Game World Championships, you may return to battle the best in 2007.

No. 2 Trainers rarity and value put it close to the legendarily expensive No. 1 Trainer in terms of rare Pokémon cards – making it one of Pokémons most sought-after cards.

    Black & White Plasma Freeze

The Black & White Plasma Freeze set essentially takes after a similar style to classic sets like Gym Heroes, with the main twist being that many Pokemon introduced are owned by villainous members of Team Plasma. This is a slight callback to the old Rocket sets from the first generation of the game, which showcased many evil versions of classic Pokemon.

This came with all sorts of unique passive abilities, and nearly any set in the Plasma series ended up being extremely fun and innovative because of it. It’s distant enough to be quite different from modern cards but is definitely more powerful and usable than the classic original sets of the game.
