If installing an emulator on your iPhone sounds too complicated, you might prefer to use a web-based emulator instead. Game Play Color is the best option for this.
You still need to download ROMs for the Pokémon games you want to play. But you don’t need to jump through as many hoops to get that emulator working on your iPhone.
Game Play Color is the quickest way to start playing Pokémon on your iPhone, but it comes with a few restrictions:
- The emulator might reset when you change apps.
- You can only play Game Boy or Game Boy Color games.
- Game Play Color doesn’t support save states, so you need to save your games to the ROM file, like you’d save to the cartridge with a physical game.
If none of those drawbacks sound like a deal-breaker, here’s how to get set up:
Game Boy And Game Boy Color
There’s only one solid contender for emulating both the Game Boy and Game Boy Color: My OldBoy! It comes in free and paid versions the Free version should work for casual use. It allows for regular in-game saves, fast-forwarding up to 2x speed, entering cheat codes, and customizing the controls.
Upgrading for $4 allows you to link up with other users to trade Pokémon, fast-forward faster than 2x, and save at any time. We’d say that’s worth a few dollars, especially if you plan to play several games.
Either way, both the free and paid versions have perfect performance since these systems are so oldand there are no ads during gameplay.
Much like with the GB/GBC, the GBA has one standout emulator: My Boy! This emulator from the same developer is almost identical to My OldBoy!, except that it plays GBA games instead.
While the free version of the app is no longer available, the paid full version allows you to save at any time and fast-forward up to 16x speed. You can even link up to trade with or battle your friends.

Rick and Morty: Pocket Mortys blends Pokemon with Adult Swim’s grandfather/grandson duo, bringing all of the show’s trademark humor and crassness with it. In this universe every Rick is a trainer and every one of the multiple Mortys are the Pokemon, and it just works. The freemium aspects of the game aren’t too in your face–the currency being Blips and Chitz coupons will get a smile out of longtime Rick and Morty fans–but they do pop up once in a while.
Despite the crude humor this is as close to a true Pokemon experience as mobile can get, even if the battle system isn’t quite as complex. However, with every new episode of Rick and Morty adding new Mortys to collect, we could eventually see Pocket Mortys ascend to Pikachu’s level. “I turned myself into a Pokemon game Morty! I’m POKERIIIIIIIICK!!”

Pokmon Is A Really Great Game But One Thing
So, yes Pokémon is a GREAT game because, it keeps me entertained and I always want to go to some of the poke-stops because its kinda boring when your at home and have caught all of the pokes in the yard! but besides it good! Oh but one thing about one Pokémon,The ditto! The ditto you hardly ever see itLike I mean you hardly EVER see it but I mean it is a special Pokémon so it makes sense, but Ive had this mission that Ive had for about 1 and a half months now and its the mission where you have to try and catch a DITTO! And Ive never even seen a ditto yet and that is one thing of why I really dont like how rare the ditto is, but its ok but anyway the game is AMAZING, and its a great game to love because theres endless amounts of Pokémon, you can battle team rocket, battle other people from different teams, have friends, and with your friends you can, battte them, trade Pokémon with them, give gifts back and forth, and do those things to level up your friendships levels and when you get to the best friend thing you can even get lucky Pokémon and more! So, I say this game is great theres endless possibilities, and well, just fun! In that case I say whoever you are that is reading this I recommend you download Pokémon! Trust me your goin to love it! How Do You Get Old Pokmon Game Roms
We can’t provide information on where to find game ROMs. While they’re readily available across the internet, . Nintendo has a strong stance against the use of ROMs, so you do so at your own risk.
We can, however, give you a few tips for parsing through ROMs.
Make sure that you get the appropriate version for your region. After most ROM names, there will be a , , , or some other letter depending on the game. J stands for Japan, U stands for United States, and E stands for Europe.
Any region should work with an emulator, but you’ll of course want to get one that matches where you live. If you don’t speak Japanese and download the Japanese version of a game, it won’t make much sense.
Also, pay attention to the file that downloads. ROMs come in ZIP files that you usually don’t have to unzip some come as RAR files instead. If a website provides an APK or EXE file, delete it. That’s malware waiting to infect your device.
ROM files are small in size, relative to the age of the console. Pokémon Red measures just 380KB, while Pokémon Black is around 110MB.
Pokemon Ds Games And Pokemon Ds Rom Hacks
You can play Pokemon DS games on Android through the help of an emulator. The idea of Pokemon DS ROM Hacking is almost identical as with Pokemon GBA ROM hacks. However, the only difference is that DS rom hacks use Nintendo DS engine. You can find many of these games downloadable online.

I want to take the time to rate this app before I put in this new update since I never took the time to do so. This app is absolutely positively amazing. You dont need to put money to play you can play with people online you can play the computer you can build your deck when booster packs you can buy decks from earning points you can trade with people online and add your own decks and packs from the real world. Theres not much more you can as for. But what I can ask is that I would like an option to communicate with people while playing them online also able to message people if theyre off-line so that they may receive word from us when they return and lastly fix the mis haps with the data not recognizing me. I would have to force close app to re log as myself and not a new user. And option to customize background and background music could be pretty sweet. Other than that great work Pokémon TCG team great job
Great But Needs One Or Two Features
This game is great it has many features that I have always wanted for Pokémon sword and shield but it is lacking some, such as the feature on the GTS where there is a setting where it filters the Pokémon you are searching for four people asking for Pokémon that you have. This is an excellent feature and I am surprised it is not added in Pokémon HOME. Also it would be great if we had some sort of way to battle, maybe on the switch version it would be better than the mobile version but still nonetheless we need a way to battle, especially since on the news category it says battle as a category. Overall this is a great game but there is one more thing I would like to see in it. There should be more boxes in the basic plan of the version one box really isnt going to help people who want to save money but like to play Pokémon, especially if they might be shiny hunters or they just need extra space in their boxes. Also, people should not be able to make a possible trades such as dittos with genders or legendary Pokémon with genders which there is no way that anybody can trade unless it is hacked. These trades generally annoy me because this is people just taunting others. Id like to see your future that removes the capability of making any sort of impossible trade.I love this app how it can transfer Pokémon to and from games and I think once it gets updated more it will just keep getting better. :3
