Things To Know Before Buying A Ticket To Pokmon Go Fest 2020
Pokémon GO Fest will be, necessarily, different this year. Niantics massive Pokémon GO celebration is usually an in-person affair, with thousands of eager trainers swarming over parks in Chicago, Dortmund and Yokohama looking to catch and trade rare creatures. Not so this year, due to COVID-19. GO Fest tickets for a very different sort of event went on sale yesterday, and you might be wondering whether or not its worth dishing out that $14.99 for a ticket.
There are some more details too, like the new Niantic Social app and some print-at-home goodies, and you can check out the blog for more on those. Here are the salient details for whether or not you should buy a ticket:
Its a two-day event, and you need to play during that time:Pokémon GO Fest will take place from July 25-26. For some previous events, it was enough to buy the ticket and show up during that time, retrieve a quest and finish it later. That wont be the case this time around: there are a ton of bonuses that will be happening only during this time. If you cant play that weekend, it probably isnt worth it to pick up the ticket.
Theres Prep Work: Similar to how we had throwback challenges last month, there is going to be a series of timed research challenges in the weeks leading up to GO Fest. These are not exclusive to ticket holders, but they will unlock extra Pokémon during the event.
Special Go Fest 2020 Features

Pokemon Go Fest : No Ticket No Problem
Today were taking a peek at all the Pokemon GO Fest 2021 features and releases thatll happen for you, regardless of if you have a ticket. The event will cost you $5 if you want ALL the features and releases Niantic has to offer, but there ARE going to be some features and releases that appear in the game Pokemon GO during the event regardless of if youve purchased a ticket.
If youre looking for wild spawn Pokemon, youll be seeing different Pokemon in hourly habitats. This means that every hour, on the hour, youll find different sorts of Pokemon spawning in your area. To begin, youll find a Jungle Habitat: non-shiny Froakie and potentially Shiny Aipom and Scyther!
Second is a Desert Mountain Habitat, including a Shieldon and potentially Shiny Hippopotas and Skarmory. Ocean Beach Habitat is next, with potentially Shiny Alomomola, Swablu, and Dratini. Cave Habitat will include Galarian Stunfisk and potentially Shiny Deino and Roggenrola.
Regardless of your location on the planet and in no particular biome, youll find newly SHINY versions of Whismur, Loudred, Exploud, Chimecho, Audino, Tymbole, Palpitoad, and Seismitoad. Those will all be out there in the wild, starting on day 1 of this event!
On Saturday youll start to see new Raid Battle Pokemon. Hitmontop and Cranidos will be ready to roll without Shiny editions, Deino will appear potentially Shiny. Therell also be potentially Shiny and/or Galarian Ponyta and Galarian Zigzagoon with special costumes.
Victini At Go Fest 2020
Most notably, GO Fest attendees receive the Mythical Pokémon of the year earlier than all other players. Tasked with the Rocket Straight to Victory research, ticketed players were able to obtain Victini this weekend, while those without tickets will have to wait for the release of the free equivalent of the research. Those who already received Victini will be able to play the free version as well upon release. At the end of the questline, instead of receiving a second Victini, they will receive Victini candy. There is no other method in the game of receiving candy for one-time catches like Victini, Mew, Celebi, and Jirachi.

Can You Get Banned For Having Hacked Pokemon
Luckily, Nintendo of Japan recently issues a statement that a massive wave of bans was coming. People discovered using hacked Pokemon and altering their save data were going to just be banned. No more access to online features. And this doesnt just apply to Pokemon Sword and Shield but also Pokemon Home.
Pokemon Go Fest Ticket: What Does It Include
The main ticketed feature of Go Fest 2021 is the event-exclusive Special Research, which allows players to choose between Pop Star or Rock Star Pikachu and fill out their band with new costume Pokemon like Flygon and Gardevoir.
Completing the Special Research will lead to an encounter with Meloetta, the Mythical Pokemon which makes its debut in Go. Time will tell if Meloetta is of any use in battles, but youll have a big gap in your Pokedex if you dont catch one now.
Ticket holders can use Incense to attract specific Pokemon during Habitat Hours, and theyll have an increased chance of being Shiny. This is the perfect chance to get the new Shiny debuts like Throh, Audino, and Unown F.
Youll also be able to get up to 10 free Raid Passes from spinning Gym Photo Discs on Sunday, as well as a free event bundle that contains three more Raid Passes. That alone will be worth the cost of the ticket for many Trainers.

Pokmon Go Fest : Where To Buy Tickets Habitats Raids Spawns
Pokemon GO Fest 2021 is upon us! AP
Its the most wonderful time of the year, trainers!
Pokémon GO Fest 2021 is almost upon us, taking place this Saturday, July 17 and Sunday, July 18 worldwide between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. local time.
This is the fifth annual celebration of its kind and, wouldnt you know, costs only $5 to acknowledge this milestone. But if you didnt buy a ticket, fret notyou dont necessarily need one to partake in the festivities, anyway.
The folks over at the Pokémon GO franchise are looking to make this years event additionally special not just because of the whole five-year anniversary thing, but because the COVID-19 pandemic robbed fans of a go-around last year.
What this basically means is that there will be a large number of new Pokémon that havent been encountered before, along with some sick gameplay reveals.
To get a feel for whats happening during both days of Pokémon GO Fest 2021, check out the habitats, spawns, and other details for each day, below!
At The End Of The Day
Do not worry if you missed out on using a Charged TM on Sunday. This was not the first time Niantic has allowed Frustration to be forgotten, and it will likely not be the last. Additionally, even if you Purified your Shadow Mewtwo because you did not know how good Shadow Pokemon were, or because your Shadow version had poor stats, you will still end up with a high CP, Mewtwo that you can trade with your friends. You can see by now why Shadow Mewtwo stole the show from Victini, and that is not even to mention the Shadow Zapdos, Moltres, and Articuno from the same Research Quest! Paying for the Go Fest gets you a quest that is worth your time, but the real value comes from your enjoyment. Niantic displayed live events in their virtual lounges for a reason. When it comes down to it, you are spending money to dedicate some of your time for a weekend to have fun with friends and family in your shared enjoyment for the game. If you had a some fun this weekend then you should know the answer to this $15 dollar question:

Should You Buy The Go Fest 2021 Ticket
Were still over a month away from the event itself but the Pokémon GO Fest 2021 ticket is already available in the in-game shop. This specially discounted pass will give players special bonuses during the two day celebration, which is set for July 17th and 18th, 2021. Another remote event, players all over the world can take part in much of the activities and bonuses, but if you want to get everything you need to buy the ticket. But even at this lower price many are asking the all important question. Is the Pokémon GO Fest 2021 ticket worth it?
The Best Part Of Go Fest 2020
Sure, Shiny Pokemon are a big highlight of every Go Fest, but Go Fest 2020 had something hidden up its sleeve. Shadow Mewtwo swooped in and upstaged poor Victini as the talk of the town around Go Fest. Victini is a Mythical Pokemon so it cant be traded, is hard to get candy for, and might have poor stats, thus leaving it lost as nothing but a spot on the Pokedex. Shadow Mewtwo, on the other hand, is quite possibly the strongest Pokemon currently in the game.Because Mewtwo has been in the game already, many players have candy at the ready to power up this new catch. Shadow Pokemon, just like Mythical Pokemon, can not be traded, but that does not mean you are stuck with a Mewtwo that might not do any good. In Pokemon Go, Shadow Pokemon receive an increase to their attack and a decrease to their defence, but in many cases these stat changes make that Pokemon more powerful. The only other downside to Shadow Pokemon is their Charged Move Frustration. It is a good thing that on Sunday of Go Fest 2020 you could use a Charged TM to get rid of Frustration and replace it with one of Mewtwos versatile roster of attacks.

The Good The Bad The Purugly
While Day 1 was almost flawless, Day 2 stumbled, giving players plenty to get annoyed about, from the usual low shiny rates to some game-breaking issues.
First and foremost, there wasnt an in-game calendar or list of Pokémon that were spawning in raids. This time, not even premium players got access to a checklist, which means if you didnt do the legwork or dig up a community infographic, you were left scrambling.
Its a real issue, if a Pokémon Raid spawned five minutes from your location, youd then had a 20 minute window to get to that location, get a team of players together , lobby up, wait the mandatory 2 minutes for the lobby timer to finish, beat and then catch the boss.
With everything spawning at the same time, youd then have about 7 minutes to get to the next thing before it despawned and youd have to wait for the next hourly drop.
This isnt an issue with chucking everything down in a day I loved that idea and revelled in the chaos but rather an issue with the underlying mechanics of the game, which werent exactly built for this level of play.
And it shows: while Day 1 showed little-to-no lag for me, on Day 2 the game struggled. Raids crashed, I failed to get raid invites from my friends overseas, and was booted out of lobbies time and again. Not only was this overwhelming for players who couldnt get through as many raids as theyd like, but the game was literally overwhelmed by the number of people playing.
