There are a few other things to bear in mind when transferring Pokémon from Go to Home.
- The first time you do so, you’ll recieve a Gigantamax Melmetal as a reward! You can claim it via the Mystery Gift function on the mobile version of Home only.
- You’ll also be able to open a Mystery Box in Pokémon Go, causing Meltan to appear for a set period of time. More on that in our Melmetal and Mystery Boxes guide!
- Not all Pokémon can be transferred from Go to Home. Specifically, you can’t transfer Spinda, Kyurem Black/White, any Shadow or Mega Evolved Pokémon, or any of the special event Pokémon that have an altered appearance, like Armoured Mewtwo, Party Hat Pikachu or the Flower Crown Eeveelutions.
- Pokémon with different forms in Go will default to a specific form in Home . Specifically this will alter forms to:
- Castform Sunny/Rainy/Snowy – Castform Normal
- Meloetta Pirouette – Meloetta Aria
- Genesect Burn/Chill/Douse/Shock – Genesect Normal
- Certain Pokémon require you to have caught them or registered them in your Pokédex first, in order for you to transfer them from Home to Sword and Shield. In brief, these are all of the legendaries/mythicals catachable in Sword and Shield via Dynamax Adventures, plus Mew, Celebi, Jirachi, Victini and Genesect. You can view the full list in the Home mobile app by going to Help – Other – Pokémon you can send to other games.
A Few Restrictions On Transferring
As mentioned before, there are a few restrictions and workarounds to transfer mass amounts of Pokémon from Go to Home. One of the first things to note is that the Go Transporter requires energy to send Pokémon to Home. Different Pokémon will require different amounts of energy. Legendary and shiny Pokémon, for example, will require different amounts of energy to transfer them. The Go Transporter will be fully energized when you first use it but, after every use, the energy level will go down and youll have to wait a set amount of time before the Go Transporter to build up all of its energy again. You also have the option of buying Go Transporter energy with PokéCoins, but its a bit costly to do this. The cost to fully charge the Transporter is 1,000 PokéCoins, which feels a little outrageous.
Additionally, not every Pokémon can be transferred from Go to Home. Pokémon that are special or exclusive to Go, such as Armored Mewtwo, costumed Pokémon that were part of an event, Shadow, Purified, or Lucky Pokémon, cannot be transferred to Pokémon Home. Its important to keep this in mind when selecting Pokémon to transfer, because you may have selected a Pokémon that cannot actually move to Home.
How Do I Transfer Pokmon From Pokmon Go To Pokmon Sword And Shield
It is not currently possible to transfer Pokémon from Pokémon GO to Pokémon HOME directly, although the feature is coming before the end of 2020. We’ll update this guide when it launches.
If you’re absolutely desperate, you could move compatible Pokémon from Pokémon GO to Let’s Go, Pikachu and Eevee, and then to HOME, and then to Sword and Shield. If we were you, we’d sit tight and wait for the update, though.

What Pokmon Games Can I Use With Pokmon Home
As you can see above, Pokémon HOME is fully compatible with Pokémon Sword and Shield – you can transfer your Pokémon to and from the app at will.
You can also transfer Pokémon between Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee! via Pokémon HOME, and transfer compatible Pokémon to from those games to Sword and Shield, although only monsters that are part of Pokémon Sword and Shield’s Galar Pokédex . Additionally, once they’re in Sword or Shield, they cannot then be transferred back to Let’s Go, Pikachu or Eevee.
Once transferred to Pokémon HOME, your Pokémon will be listed in the National Pokédex . Remember, Pokémon Sword and Shield has it’s own Pokédex and is not compatible with every single Pokémon, although with the additional Pokémon from the Expansion Passes, Sword and Shield will support over 600 Pokémon.
It is not currently possible to transfer Pokémon from Pokémon GO to Pokémon HOME, although the feature is coming. It should be noted that transferred Pokémon cannot be moved back to Pokémon GO once they have been moved to Pokémon HOME.
For previous generation games, all Pokémon must be transferred via Pokémon Bank on 3DS. While it is possible to transfer Gen 1 and Gen 2 Pokémon from the 3DS Virtual Console releases of the original Game Boy games , it is not possible to move Pokémon from original Game Boy cartridges to Pokémon HOME.

How To Transfer Between Pokmon Go And Pokmon Home
Here’s how to transfer your monsters
Before you transfer, you need to have linked your mobile version of Pokémon Home to your Nintendo Account.
If you want to transfer these Pokémon to your Nintendo Switch version of Pokémon Home, youll also need to make sure your mobile version and Switch version are linked to the same Nintendo Account.

Transfer From Pokemon Sword & Shield And Pokmon Lets Go
To transfer Pokemon from their Switch games to the cloud-based service, they first need to download the Pokemon Home app on their Switch.
This is free to download on the Nintendo eShop and makes the process very simple.
Note: Players cannot move Pokemon that are not included in the Pokemon Sword and Shield Pokedex. You also cannot transfer Pokemon in the Lets Go games to and from Sword and Shield.

How To Transfer From Pokemon Go To Pokemon Home
In November 2020, Pokemon Go added the ability to directly transfer Pokemon from the mobile game to Home. To begin the process, you’ll first need to connect Pokemon Go to the same Nintendo Account you have linked to Pokemon Home. Fire up the game and tap on the Poke Ball icon at the bottom of the screen to open the menu. From there, tap on Settings in the upper right-hand corner, then scroll down and select Pokemon Home. You’ll be prompted to sign in with your Nintendo Account.
Once you’ve connected Pokemon Go to your Pokemon Home account, you can starting moving Pokemon to the service. Tap on Send Pokemon from the Pokemon Home section in Settings and you’ll be taken to the Go Transporter. Select the monsters you’d like to transfer and tap Transport to move them. After that, open Pokemon Home on your mobile device, tap on the menu button on the bottom of the screen, and select Options. Scroll down until you see Pokemon Go Link, then tap Receive to complete the transfer process.
Beyond direct transfers, there is a roundabout method for bringing certain Pokemon over from the mobile game. If you have a copy of Let’s Go Pikachu or Eevee, you are able to transfer any Gen 1 Pokemon that you’ve caught in Pokemon Go to those titles through the Go Park, a facility located in Fuchsia City.

Pokmon Go To Pokmon Home Transfer
In 2020, Pokémon HOME was released as a storage platform for Pokémon in the main series Pokémon games. Having first connected to the main games with Pokémon Let’s Go, Pikachu! & Let’s Go, Eevee!, Pokémon GO connectivity to Pokémon HOME was released towards the end of 2020.
This transfer is only one way from Pokémon GO to Pokémon HOME so make sure that you select Pokémon you definitely want to transfer.
Certain Pokémon and Pokémon Costumes/Forms cannot be transferred. Mega Evolved Pokémon and Shadow Pokémon cannot be transferred.
After you have sent a Pokémon to HOME, they will need to be accepted into Pokémon HOME in the Pokémon HOME app where they will then be placed in the first available position in your boxes.
Once transferred, the Pokémon’s stats in the main series are calculated as they were in Pokémon Let’s Go, Pikachu! & Let’s Go, Eevee! transfer.

Transfer From Previous Pokemon Games Using The 3ds Pokemon Bank To Pokemon Home
This is a bit more involved than other steps in the process, due to the nature of having to handle and operate a 3DS.
But, if there are some Pokemon from pasts games that youd like to show off to friends more conveniently, Pokemon Bank may be a tool to consider.
In order to do this, youll need to have Pokemon Home on the Nintendo Switch and pony up for the premium version of the app. These can be purchased from in the app on either a monthly or year-long basis. Once thats done, youre ready to receive Pokemon to Pokemon Home from the 3DS Pokemon Bank.
On the 3DS, open Pokemon Bank, make sure it is up-to-date, and then select Move Pokemon to Pokemon HOME.
After this, go back to the Switch, select Move and then select Begin Move in order to generate a moving code for the transfer to be completed. This can also be done without a 3DS, as long as the player has their Nintendo account linked properly.

How Do I Move Pokmon From Pokmon Home To Pokmon Sword And Shield
Once you’ve moved Pokémon to Pokémon HOME from Sword and Shield or other sources, compatible Pokémon can easily be transferred back to Sword and Shield by connecting with the game again and dragging your chosen Pokémon to the game’s boxes. Remember that only Pokémon present in the Galar Pokédex can be moved to Pokémon Sword and Shield.
Also remember that POKÉMON TRANSFERRED FROM LET’S GO PIKACHU AND EEVEE CANNOT BE MOVED BACK TO THOSE GAMES ONCE YOU’VE MOVED THEM TO SWORD AND SHIELD .

It’s important to mention that only Pokemon from the first generation are currently allowed to be transferred from Pokemon Go. This also includes the Pokemon’s Galarian form if the original is from the first generation. The player will need a copy of Pokemon Go, Pokemon Home, Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu or Eevee, and a copy of Pokemon Sword or Shield. Here’s how players can do it.
- Step 1: Reach Fuchsia City in Pokemon Let’s Go Eevee or Pikachu.
- Step 2: Head into the Safari Zone. This will unlock the ability to transfer over Pokemon from Pokemon Go.
- Step 3: Head into the menu and navigate to the Pokemon Go section to connect them.
- Step 4: Open Pokemon Go then head to the settings and connect to your Nintendo Switch.
- Step 5: Speak to the person in the Safari Zone to select which Pokemon to bring over. Confirm on both the phone and Switch.
- Step 6: Play a small mini-game to capture them all.
- Step 7: Boot up Pokemon Home and connect with Pokemon Let’s Go.
- Step 8: Bring the Pokemon from Let’s Go into Pokemon Home.
- Step 9: Transfer the eligible Pokemon from Pokemon Home into Pokemon Sword & Shield.

Receiving Pokmon In Pokmon Home
If youre using the Pokémon Home mobile app, simply open it and you should see a notification that Pokémon have transferred from Pokémon Go. Select Yes to receive the Pokémon and youll see them in your box.
If youre using Pokémon Home on the Nintendo Switch, you have to click the Pokémon Go button in the bottom right of your screen upon entering the app. Follow the instructions to complete the transfer.

Your Pokémon will know the moves it would ordinarily know at its level in Generation 8 the moves it has in Pokémon Go are irrelevant. However, your IVs will roughly match those of your Pokémon. Defense and Special Defense are taken from your Stamina statistic in Pokémon Go, Attack and Special Attack from your original Attack stat, and HP will roughly match HP. Speed is not a statistic in Pokémon Go, therefore this is entirely randomised.
Your Pokémon will also get a nature and ability, as these do not exist in Pokémon Go either.

As of today, Pokemon Go is now compatible with Pokemon Home. This is exciting news for Pokemon fans, because it greatly expands the number of monsters that can be transferred from Niantic’s popular mobile game to Pokemon Sword and Shield. It wouldn’t be Pokemon if there weren’t a lot of hoops to jump through, though, and Pokemon Go throws up quite a few barriers to getting your beloved Shiny Groudon over to the Nintendo Switch.

As of right now, if you want to complete a transfer from Pokemon Go to Pokemon Home, you need to fit the following requirements:
- You have to be Level 40 in Pokemon Go
- The “Go Transporter” item must have a sufficient amount of energy
- You must have already caught the Pokemon in Pokemon Sword and Shield, so you can’t use Pokemon Go to fill your Pokedex
- Mega Evolutions, Shadow Pokemon, and unique costumes can’t be transferred
Those are some pretty onerous restrictions, making it effectively impossible to transfer your entire collection over to Pokemon Sword and Shield in one go. Indeed, as someone currently trapped at Level 32 in Pokemon Go, I’ve yet to be able to access the feature at all. Alas, poor Shiny Dragonite, you appear to be doomed to remain trapped in the purgatory of Alameda, California.
