How To Get The Legendary In Crown Tundra
Although Mewtwo was absent from Pokémon Sword and Shield at launch, a limited-time event a few months after its release introduced an uncatchable, extremely difficult Dynamax Mewtwo to the game. Luckily, with the addition of the game’s The Crown Tundra expansion, finding and catching Mewtwo in Pokémon Sword and Shield is now possible at any time.

During a single weekend in February 2020, players were able to randomly encounter Mewtwo in Max Raid Dens in the Wild Area. The Legendary Pokémon was truly powerful, as it was level 100, fully EV trained , and could use six different moves, as opposed to the usual four. This Max Raid event could theoretically come back someday, in which case players will want to approach the returning hardest battle in Pokémon with real human teammates and ultra-powerful Pokémon, such as Necrozma, Zacian, or Dracovish. Game Freak has not repeated any events since Sword and Shield’s release, however, so this is rather unlikely.
What Mew Does In Battle
Although not quite as powerful as Mewtwo, Mew is still a dangerous Mythical Mon. With 100-base stats across the board and access to every TR, TM, and Max Move in the game, Mew can be a threat to any team. You can really do anything you want with Mew from turning it into a Baton Pass thrower to a Special Attack sweeper to a Reflect and Charm staller.
However, Mew is a true jack of all trades, master of none Pokémon. There are better Pokémon for any specific role, and the only thing Mew has going for it is its versatility. That and its pretty cute.
How To Find Mewtwo In Max Raid Battles
Even though its technically the main event going on right now, Mewtwo and the starters didnt replace the usual rotation of special Pokémon that players can find when looking for Max Raids. Overall, the Psychic-type has a 10-percent spawn chance, while competing for five-star space with Gigantimax Orbeetle, Kingler, Hatterene, Grimmsnarl, and Toxtricity.
It isnt impossible to find, so just keep your eyes on the Max Raid invites page of your game while looking through the Wild Area.
A key thing you need to know is that youre unable to actually capture any Mewtwo if you do manage to defeat them. This is intentionally coded into the game for some reason, but Game Freak has not given a reason for it yetthough its likely because the developers have no plans on putting Legendary Pokémon into raids outside of this for some time.

How Do You Get Raid In Pokemon Go

As of now though, Mewtwo isnt available for players to catch in the game. How To Get Mewtwo In Pokemon Sword & Shield
Mewtwo originally appeared in Pokemon Sword & Shield as part of a max raid, but it was only a boss. You could fight it, but not catch it. Now, however, you have a chance – with the addition of The Crown Tundra DLC, Pokemon Sword & Shield now has a reliable new way to catch a wide variety of Legendary Pokemon: Dynamax Adventures.
Dynamax Adventures are essentially four-player raid battles where players work through a Pokemon Den, fighting challenging Dynamax Battles against a range of Pokemon, working your way through the Den. You have the opportunity to take one of the Pokemon you defeat and catch away from the Dynamax Adventure as a permanent catch.
At the end of each Pokemon Den awaits a Legendary – and Mewtwo is one of the classic legendary Pokemon that can appear as a potential final boss of a Den.
Which Pokemon awaits at the end is random, so you’ll just have to keep running raids and hoping for Mewtwo.
Pretty much every H Legendary Pokemon that wasn’t already in Sword & Shield is on the list of legendary Pokemon that can appear in Dynamax Adventures, including the original, non-Galarian forms of Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres.

Is Mew Useful In Pokmon Sword And Shield
The logical reason for transferring Mew into Pokémon Sword and Shield is that it will help you complete your Pokédex.
However, because it is a Mythical Pokémon, Mews entry in the Pokédex will only appear if you capture it yourself or if you face a friend who has it on their team.
Due to his mythic status, three of his six Mew stats will be filled to full, meaning they will be at maximum level. Thanks to that, you can train Mew to become a really powerful Psychic Pokémon, specifically if one of those three statistics is its Special Attack.
You still only get one Mew for Poké Ball Plus, and there are other new Psychic Pokémon that are great in Sword and Shield.

How Do You Get Mew And Mewtwo In Pokemon Sword
As for locating it naturally in the game, in order to find Mewtwo, the player must participate in Max Den Raids. Search around the Wild Area for Max Den Raids and throw Wishing Pieces into them. The spawn is completely random, so it may take a few attempts. It usually appears within every 10 Wishing Pieces.
What Mewtwo Does In Battle
All these years later, Mewtwo is still a terror built for battle. It has massive Special Attack and Speed stats, so it should your team’s go-to attacker. It also has an extremely varied set of possible moves, meaning it can account for almost every situation. Give it a Psychic-type move of course , but also give it some fun surprises. Thunderbolt, Flamethrower, and Ice Beam are all solid based on your team’s needs. A Fighting-type move is a must to counter Dark-types that Mewtwo is weak against. Aura Sphere or Focus Blast are recommended.

Talk with your teammates
Nothing beats the right communication and camaraderie between teammates on a Pokemon battle. It is no longer news that this Mewtwo Max Raid battle can be the toughest battle to check out now on Sword and Shield, so make sure that your teammates know every essential counter on the game.
Using taunt to block Mewtwo’s moves
Nasty Plot, Calm Mind, and Bulk Up are just three of the boosting moves of Mewtwo, so once you get to take down his shields, you can easily go to the taunt move– as a safer attack.
Takedown Mewtwo’s shield and use Grimmsnarl’s Spirit Break
Grimmsnarl’s Spirit Break move can make Mewtwo’s special attack lowered. When this attack occurs, this would be the best time to survive Mewtwo’s attacks along with the game.
Don’t use Phantom Force
Remember not to use Dragapult’s Phantom Force when you’re battling with Mewtwo. This might be the best tip to use on fighting against this Pokemon because Phantom Force allows Mewtwo to avoid attacks for one full turn. You would not want to let this happen, for sure.

Trainers, the Mythical Electric-type Pokemon Zeraora is currently appearing in Max Raid Battles in Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield. Its appearance is part of a limited time event that will allow trainers to receive a free Shiny Zeraora.
Specifically, from now until June 28, Zeraora will appear in Max Raid Battles in Sword and Shield. If one million trainers around the world defeat Zeraora in one of these battles, all trainers will be able to collect a free Shiny Zeraora in the mobile version of Pokemon Home, the online Pokemon storage service.

First, head to the Pokemon Dens in the Wild Area that have a beam of light shooting out of them.
When you interact with one of these Dens, youll see the silhouette of the Pokemon thats available to battle. If you see the silhouette in the screenshot below, youve found Zeraora!
If you dont find Zeraora in any of the battles that are currently active in your Wild Area, remember that you can cause more battles to appear by completing all of the battles that are currently active.
Keep in mind, you cant catch any of the Zeraora you defeat in these battles, but you will earn some in-game items if you win.

Mewtwo, the legendary Pokemon is probably the toughest you can catch as a trainer, and the developers have paid to this detail and made it incredibly difficult to get your hands on Mewtwo in Pokemon Sword & Shield.
As it was recently announced, Mewtwo will soon be joining the Max Raid Battles to celebrate Pokemon Day. It is for certain that Mewtwo will be a level 100 and you will need your best Pokemon at hand to take down Mewtwo.
But even if you manage to defeat Mewtwo, you will not be able to catch Pokemon as the game itself wont allow you. Instead, Mewtwo will go back to its den after the Max Raid Battle.
This leaves players with only one method of catching Mewtwo in Pokemon Sword & Shield. First, you will need to download the Pokemon Home App on either your phone or Nintendo Switch.
Once downloaded, you can then proceed to transfer Mewtwo to Pokemon Home if you have it in Pokemon Lets Go. As Pokemon Go still wont let trainers transfer their Pokemon you are only left with one choice.
