How To Catch Zapdos In Pokemon Let’s Go

Where To Find Articuno In Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu & Eevee

Where to find the Power Plant

Zapdos is the legendary bird for the electric-type, and thus it finds its home in a most appropriate location: the power plant. To get to the power plant you’ll need the Sea Skim secret technique, and once you’ve got it you’ll need to head to Route 10. Getting out onto the water there near the entrance to the Rock Tunnel will lead you to the entrance to the power plant.

The power plant is quite a bit easier in this version of the Kanto story thanks to the lack of random encounters – you simply need to work your way through its winding design in the same way you would Mt. Moon, Team Rocket’s Lair or any other ‘dungeon’ style area in the game. It’s of course home to a wide range of electric Pokemon beyond Zapdos, so bring plenty of catching equipment with you.

Zapdos is a mix of flying-type and electric-type. When all is said and done that makes it weak to Rock-type attacks and Pokemon and Ice-type attacks and Pokemon. Generally, Rock-type is the one you’re going to have the easiest access to. Consider taking along a Graveler or Golem or an Onix with high stats. While Zapdos is powerful in the battle, a good rock-type will nullify its electrical moves and dull its flying-type attacks.

The Zapdos will be level 50 when you finally catch it.

You’ll Need Some Secret Techniques Beforehand

Three of the most powerful Pokémon in Lets Go, Pikachu! and Lets Go, Eevee! are the three Legendary Birds. One of these Legendary Birds is the Ice/Flying-type Articuno, which you can find shortly after reaching Fuchsia City.

In Fuchsia City, theres a man who will teach your Partner Pokémon the Secret Technique Sea Skim, which allows you to travel across water. Youll also want to travel just south of Fuchsia City where youll find Team Rocket. After an interaction with them, youll receive the Golden Teeth, which you can bring back to the Safari Zone Warden in Fuchsia, who will thank you and then teach your Partner the Secret Technique Strong Push, which can be used to push aside large rocks.

How To Catch Articuno In Pokemon Go

As you know, Articuno is a flying-type legendary Pokemon. It is susceptible to rock type attacks. It is also weak to fire, electric, and steel type moves. To attack it with full throttle, you can use rock. When you use powerful, big, chunky rock type Pokemon to attack Articuno, 9 out of 10 times you are going to be successful in bringing it down. If you are able to get enough Roggenrola Candy, then you can have a powerful Gigalith. What it means is that if you are able to get enough Roggenrola Candy during the Unova special event, then youll be able to take on this flying type Pokemon pretty easily.

When using rock-type pokemon against Articuno, be very selective. Because certain rock type Pokemons such as Golem are partly ground type and particularly weak against the ice attack of Articuno. Also, kindly make sure that your chosen rock type Pokemon doesnt use ground type moves, as these multi-range Pokemons wont be able to attack the flying type Pokemon.

How To Beat Articuno In Pokemon Go

Team Mystic got a big surprise on Saturday when Pokemon Go announced that Articuno would join Lugia as the first Legendary Pokemon in Pokemon Go. While Articuno is the weakest of the Legendary Birds, it should still be a challenge for most trainers, especially since its stats get a big boost as a Raid Boss.

Although a lot of sites recommended that players bring Rock-Type Pokemon to Legendary Raid battles, that strategy might not work with Articuno. Articunos Ice-Type attacks would wreck Pokemon like Golem and Rhydon since Ice is effective against Ground-Type attacks.

Most raid battles come down to a combination of having a numbers advantage and having luck on your side. Heres a couple of tips that could also help you beat Articuno in battle:

Articuno Weaknesses And Counters

As previously mentioned, Articuno is an Ice/Flying Pokemon, which makes it doubly weak againstRock types. Rhyperior, Golem, Terrakion, and other Rock-type Pokemon will all dish out a ton of damage against Articuno and resist any Flying-type attacks it has however, Rhyperior, Golem, and any other Pokemon that’s part-Ground will take super-effective damage from Articuno’s Ice attacks.

Steel and Fire Pokemon will also be helpful when battling Articuno. Heatran in particular is a great counter, as it resists both Ice and Flying moves and deals super-effective damage to the Legendary bird, but Charizard , Entei, Metagross, and Cobalion will be helpful when challenging Articuno.

Articuno Raid Guide For Pokémon GO Players: February 2021 ...

There’s no secondary spawn for Mewtwo, but it is worth keeping in mind that the Pokemon that it’s cloned from, Mew, is available to players in a far easier way. Mew is included with every purchase of the Poke Ball Plus as a sort of bonus for players who go all-in on their Pokemon Let’s Go Experience.

Mew arrives at a low level and isn’t massively powerful, but as a pure psychic type it’s a type you don’t encounter often until later on in the game, so it’s a very useful bonus indeed.

Seafoam Islands is a location just off Route 20 east that houses one of the most devilishly difficult dungeons in Pokémon: Lets Go. Its a dungeon well worth conquering though, as you can get your grubby little mitts on an Articuno at the end of it.

Wed recommend that you have a solid few Rock, Fighting, Steel, or Fire Pokémon at level 50 so you stand the best chance of walking away with that Articuno.

How To Rename Eevee To Evolve Into Sylveon Leafeon Glaceon Umbreon Espeon Vaporeon Jolteon And Flareon

Evolving Eevee using the required 25 Eevee candy will produce a random evolution. However, you can control which type it turns into by renaming the monster beforehand:

  • Rename Kira to evolve into Fairy-type Sylveon
  • Rename Linnea to evolve into Grass-type Leafeon
  • Rename Rea to evolve into Ice-type Glaceon
  • Rename Sakura to evolve into Psychic-type Espeon
  • Rename Tamao to evolve into Dark-type Umbreon
  • Rename Rainer to evolve into Water-type Vaporeon
  • Rename Sparky to evolve into Electric-type Jolteon
  • Rename Pyro to evolve into Fire-type Flareon

There are some caveats here. This only works one time per evolution, so if you plan to use your Eeveelution in battle, make sure youve chosen an Eevee with favourable stats. The naming trick is currently the only guaranteed way to evolve Vaporeon, Jolteon or Flareon once youve done it once, itll be up to random chance if you get another, regardless of what youve named it.

There are tricks to reliably evolving the other Eevee varieties more than once, though

    How To Get Another Articuno

Interestingly enough, you can actually capture another Articuno in the wild if you want, unlike the original Pokemon Yellow. In order to do this, you will need to receive all eight Gym Badges, defeat the Elite Four, and become the Kanto Champion.

Once you have done this, you will find yourself back at your home in Pallet Town. Leave your home and the game will inform you that there are three select Pokemon that you can now ride above the ground. These three Pokemon are Charizard, Aerodactyl, and Dragonite.

Simply select one of these three as the Pokemon you want to take out of its ball and you will now soar above the skies. Head to almost any route from Route 1 through Route 25 where you can find Pokemon in the sky and you have a rare chance of encountering another Articuno. It is also possible to use the normal methods of Shiny Charm, lures, and a catch combo to shiny hunt for a shiny Articuno.

    How To Get Shiny Articuno

You can actually capture a shiny Articuno if you want, though, it will take immense time and patience. Dont worry if the Articuno doesnt appear shiny before you approach it as the game doesnt determine if its shiny or not until you activate the initial cutscene.

So, you can simply save before approaching it and soft reset until you get the shiny Articuno. All you have to do for this is save before approaching, watch the initial cutscene, and see if it is shiny or not in battle. If it isnt, all you need to do is head to the home screen on your Switch and close out of Pokemon Lets Go.

Reopen the game, reload your save, and retry again and again until you finally get the chance to capture a shiny Articuno. Good luck!
